Hidden gem! I recently visited Pho Lovers and was blown away by their Beef Ribs Special Noodles Soup & The combo of sliced filet mignon steak and roasted ribs . They are absolutely amazing--each bite is tender and bursting with flavor. The broth is so authentic; it's the kind of comforting meal that feels like a warm hug. Food decoration was also so beautiful. The homemade soybean milk with pandan leaves--it's such a refreshing touch, it's not too sweet which I love it compared to other places. The rau ma adds freshness that rounds everything out. If you're looking for an authentic Vietnamese restaurant, this place is a must-try! I stopped by here a few times because I love the the food here. It was so good. The Pho came with the short ribs. I tried many Banh mi in San Jose but this banh mi is 100 times better. The bread was so soft and freshly baked, it came with a plate of salad and soup, which i couldn't find any where else when I ordered Banh Mi. Preface. Apparently, there was no power today and they could only serve their pho. I was super excited to try the sugarcane drinks and the banh mi chao. The pho was a small portion for what you are paying for. For 17$ I left the restaurant still hungry. The restaurant was on the smaller side and the service was alright. We recently tried this fairly new pho place after stumbling across it on Yelp. I got the oxtail Pho and my husband got the combo pho. Broth was tasty and meat was tender. There was a good balance of broth and noodles with a generous amount of meat. They have only one size so if you're looking for L or XL not available. Came here with hubs on a Saturday at 4:45pm. Place is clean. 9 tables, mixture for 2 and 4. One Bathroom- was clean. Nice watercolor murals which covered both walls. Peppy music in the background. Hubs had oxtail pho, I had beef bones pho. Broth was very tasty and meat on beef bones very tender. The oxtail pho had 5 medium size oxtails. They also brought baguette to accompany our meal, $3.00. The quantity was not great. Although the meal was good, portions were not great, still hungry afterwards. Price for oxtail was $18.95. Beef bones pho was $19.95. Service good but I wish we knew baguette is extra. Waiter didn't seem to understand much English. So come if you're not too hungry. read more

I really enjoyed this place and recommended it to lots of people but it's unfortunate that they just increased prices across the board on the menu just a few weeks after opening. Phos are about $2.50 more on average. A couple weeks ago pho tai was $14.50 and now it's $17. That's quite drastic... not sure if they just had low prices initially to entice customers. read more

Pho Lovers is the best!! My husband and I have been wanting to try this place for a few weeks now and we finally did! First of all, the food came out so quick! We were starving so that was a plus. I got the #2 Pho Tai Lan and it was hands down the best pho I've ever had. I ate every last bite of it! The broth was perfectly flavored I couldn't get over it. My husband got the S3 Bahn Mi Chao Bo Ne and that was just as good! The bread is so fresh with a nice crust on the outside and the inside is perfectly soft. The combination of the bread with steak, pate, eggs and garlic butter soy sauce dipped in the beautiful pho broth just melts in your mouth. They also have really fun drinks too! I got the signature Saigon which is their signature house blend of coffee with a fragrant seat salted crème. It was delicious! They have ton of different drinks to choose from. The owner was very welcoming and kind. He talked to my husband and I about the ingredients they use and how a lot are locally sourced. It was such an awesome experience. We decided to try something new on the menu but we were very disappointed as the food was excessively greasy yet very bland at the same time. We ordered the sizzling beef rib and sizzling filet mignon plates. Everything was swimming in oil. Side of pho broth was pure oil as well, which we were confused since they said they ran out of broth. Salad is green leaf lettuce with what tasted like bottled 1000 island dressing. The only decent thing was the baguette. At $20+ per plate, not worth it. Service staff were rude and gave attitude the entire time like you were inconveniencing them by being there. Ever since Phở Tái closed at the Ulferts Center here, we have needed a new pho restaurant. And now stepping in as the new local pho shop is Phở Lovers (replacing the previous Taiwanese restaurant Chan's Kitchen). Having opened only earlier this month, there are some clear opening kinks they have to work out (i.e., condiments need to be requested, etc.) However, taste and proportion size are relatively decent and worth a visit to try out. The meat quality seems above-par. Friendly service and casual ambiance are what you would expect for a new pho restaurant. Pro tip - they offer a 3-4% discount for cash payment. read more

I took my family here last night for dinner and everything was amazing. We got 2 bowls of Pho, the rib plate with a baguette and a chicken plate with rice. I also ordered the lychee rose soda which was really great. We talked to the owner because we had never been there before and he explained the menu and items perfectly. Food was good but portion size and service was lacking. We ordered the S3 Banh Mi Chao Bo Ne (sizzling plate with filet mignon) and #1 Pho Dac Biet. When we got the sizzling plate we were disappointed at how small the size was in proportion to the price $19.95. It didn't look like the portions in some of these review photos. The pho soup was delicious but the bowl it came in was smaller than most pho places. With that said the broth was clean, and flavorful beef bone soup that's found more commonly in the south bay. The meat and noodles were not a lot either but it was decent quality. As for service the wait staff were not very attentive after we ordered our food. Place was quiet and we were the only occupied table. Like some of the previous reviews said they were talking and laughing loudly in Vietnamese which was ok but they didn't even give us enough utensils or refill our water. We had to get up for our own utensils. We may give them another chance. Hopefully they'll note my comments above and make positive changes to attract and keep their customers. read more

Food was ok and service was initially good, but once we finished eating, they pushed us to pay the bill so we did. paid the $71. bill leaving a good tip knowing we would stay a little while longer as long as the table wasn't needed. My friend said we should leave because the staff kept staring at her and giving her the eye. Then waitress said they are waiting for table for a 1:45 reservation. I was born and raised in Hanoi - I have pho in my blood and this is hands down the best pho place in the East Bay. The restaurant is small but clean, minimalist but stylish and the staff/owner are friendly and provide great service on top of the great foods. Every bowl of pho on the menu is great. Called in to order, the lady on the phone did not have much patience, hung up on me the first time and handed the phone to someone else in the middle of my order the second time. Ordered the banh mi thit nuong it was extremely disappointing. The sandwich is inconsistent from the last time I ordered.... I've never had a Vietnamese sandwich drenched in butter like this. It was dripping out of the sandwich made me feel queasy. Luckily they skimped on the pate and I was able to scrape off the little bit they put on, otherwise the sandwich would've been way way wayyyy too buttery.
