Today, I'd tried their item#BD3: Bánh Mi Chẩm Soup Phố Hg Sườn Bò & Đuồi Bò - Beef Rib & Oxtail Pho Dip Banh (Combination of Oxtail & Beef Ribs Pho Soup Served with Toasted Baguette). This is the best pho soup I ever have! First, the baguette is made in-house and when it is delivered with the pho soup, the outside is crispy while the inside is soft! Dipping the baguette into the pho soup is super yummy! Talking about the pho soup, the owner made the soup with lots and lots of ox bone and no MSG added! The soup is slow cooked for 24 hours!!! This is why their pho soup is tasting so great and not feel thirsty after drinking it. Finally, their oxtail and beef ribs. The tenderness of the meat on the oxtail is just right so that it is not falling apart as well as the meat is not over cooked, and the same for the beef ribs. Their cook had timed his slow cooking on the oxtail and beef ribs very well, too! But most importantly is that their oxtail has not gamy taste at all!!! For a lazy person like me, getting meat out from oxtail & beef ribs is not my dish and I do not like baguette at all because it hurts my upper cavity! Hidden gem! I recently visited Pho Lovers and was blown away by their Beef Ribs Special Noodles Soup & The combo of sliced filet mignon steak and roasted ribs . They are absolutely amazing--each bite is tender and bursting with flavor. The broth is so authentic; it's the kind of comforting meal that feels like a warm hug. Food decoration was also so beautiful. The homemade soybean milk with pandan leaves--it's such a refreshing touch, it's not too sweet which I love it compared to other places. The quantity was not great. Although the meal was good, portions were not great, still hungry afterwards. Price for oxtail was $18.95. Beef bones pho was $19.95. Side of pho broth was pure oil as well, which we were confused since they said they ran out of broth. Salad is green leaf lettuce with what tasted like bottled 1000 island dressing. Ever since Phở Tái closed at the Ulferts Center here, we have needed a new pho restaurant. And now stepping in as the new local pho shop is Phở Lovers (replacing the previous Taiwanese restaurant Chan's Kitchen). Having opened only earlier this month, there are some clear opening kinks they have to work out (i.e., condiments need to be requested, etc.) However, taste and proportion size are relatively decent and worth a visit to try out. The meat quality seems above-par. Friendly service and casual ambiance are what you would expect for a new pho restaurant. Pro tip - they offer a 3-4% discount for cash payment. read more
