Stopped at Pho Kitchen after shopping at Westgate with a friend who was visiting from out of town. It is a small, casual spot with really nice people and quick service. I had the rice with BBQ chicken and also tried some of the beef. Everything was good but not great, so three stars for a convenient, above average meal.

Good egg rolls?
Kelly L.

Broth tastes light and delicate. Very good! Good amount of meat. The egg rolls and spring rolls are good.

What a delicious spot for pho that isn't no frills and janky! We stopped by on a Friday night after randomly coming across this place on Yelp. It wasn't too busy, and the first thing we noticed was how clean and inviting the interior was! The servers were all very nice too. I ordered the Rare Steak pho spicy. The pho comes out with some STEAMING hot broth, just how I like it! It's also served in a nice clean metal bowl, not a stained white cheap plastic bowl like at many other pho places. The first sip of that pho broth sent my tastebuds on a small beefy journey! Immediately I tasted the shrimpy spice of that chili oil, followed by light savory notes of beefiness. Surprisingly, I didn't get too much aromatics like cinnamon or star anise, but some people like their pho broth that way. The thin steak was very tender, and they give you a generous portion of rice noodles. All the usual pho fixings like bean sprouts, mint, lime, and jalapeño are provided as well, of course. They even give you extra sliced onions! The food came out fast and the prices were very reasonable. Overall, a very positive dinner experience here!

28. Rare Steak, Well-Done Brisket Noodle Soup $16
Lauren H.

Very likely one of the best bowls of pho I've had in a very long time. Besides the fact the pho came out piping hot (which is a huge green flag), the meat quality was really nice - especially the brisket! And aside from the food, I do have to give some appreciation to the ambiance and how clean the staff keeps the restaurant. The restaurant was very comfortably air conditioned, the utensils all looked new, the tables were cleaned properly and the jazz music was really calming after a rough day. Came here on a whim but left positively happy and with a full belly. Decent price for the quality and portion $16-$18 per bowl.

Review update. The popcorn chicken can be avoided. It's greasy, barely has much meat and the outer coating is way too crispy and airy. We could barely finish our popcorn chicken rice plate.

What a lucky find! Delicious pho with a little spice kick. I was lucky to find a spot that let me get the noodles I like - rice noodles, with a mix of seafood. Such a hearty, cozy, delicious treat! The space is nice and clean and the servers were really sweet and attentive. This place is located in a busy area, but has plenty of parking.

Chicken banh mi
Julie S.

Went with my husband after seeing the banh mi picture on Yelp. We were surprised with the variety of dishes on the menu. We arrived during happy hour- tried their takoyaki in addition to bun with grilled pork/egg roll and banh mi- everything tasted great. Service was efficient. Nice ambiance. Definitely want to go back. Also want to try the shave ice dessert.

Bbq pork with egg rolls

Great local eatery. They have a variety of Vietnamese foods featuring pho, bun bo hue, banh mi, and Vietnamese rice plates. They have various appetizers too like takoyaki, shrimp tempura, and Taiwanese popcorn chicken. I'm all for the variety. Popcorn chicken comes with a generous amount of basil but missing the signature spice for popcorn chicken. My 2 year old loves it so I guess that's a win. Don't sleep on the dessert menu they have croffles (croissant+waffle) and bingsu and serve alcohol. Order on an iPad, the staff is very friendly. No high chairs but they do have boosters. I like to get the pho with fresh noodles and bbq pork with egg rolls here. I always want to try the dessert but never have enough room.

Inside

Food was delicious and servers were very sweet. The inside is very clean. The only thing was the wooden booth seating was too high for me. If you sit too deep my feet were dangling. Lol everything else was awesome I think I found a new lunch place.

Beef balls pho.
Wil A.

Had the beef ball pho and spring rolls, and both were very tasty! The food came out quickly, and the service was fast and efficient. The pho was flavorful, and the spring rolls were delicious. Overall, a great experience. Definitely would come back again!

The place is very cozy and comfortable. Love it.

food is good. All the people are nice. I Will recommend and definitely will come back.

Pho Kitchen is a delicious, family-owned restaurant! We were impressed by the quality of the food and enjoyed everything we ordered. My dad had the beef pho, while my mom and I shared the BBQ pork rice plate with a sunny-side-up egg, BBQ pork ribs, and the popcorn chicken rice plate. Everything was excellent! We could also tell the pho is a favorite here--everyone around us seemed to be enjoying it. The service was attentive, and everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. The place was a nice and clean too. We finished with the mango bingsu for dessert, and it was so good! We will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

The seolleong tang is very comforting, perfect for a sore throat. The naengmyun tastes so refreshing and the noodles very fresh and chewy! I like white soups more, but the guk bap was also great, bf loved it. Lastly, the sooyook was my favoritee. The white broths are thick and creamy, perfect for my liking. The side dishes also tasted very fresh, especially the radish kimchi. Ask for barley tea, and your meal is complete :D Everything tasted very clean and nutritious. The ambiance is great for families or with friends! Service was very accommodating. Thank you!

The Galbi Jjim is why we come here. I have mixed feelings about it…read more It is quite good - it's an absolute flavor bomb, and I do enjoy it, especially with that sauce all over rice. The beef is mixed quality though. IMO the quality is significantly lower than Daeho - it's often tougher/dryer, more cartiledge-y bits (I know that's a plus for some, it's not something I grew up with). The meat is fine. The veggies are decent. I am sad there are like, only 3 doekbokki noodles in it. So overall, I prefer Daeho (slightly better sauce, better meat), but because Daeho doesn't deliver to me all the way from Milpitas, this is the 2nd best place for galbi jjim that I'm aware of, and I still order from here when I'm craving it.

Udon with good flavor but small portions!…read more I'm always on the lookout for new udon places to try, so we stopped by here on a Friday night around peak dinner time. It was busy but we only had to wait a few minutes for a table. I ordered the Spicy Uzumakiya Udon. The flavor was there -- deep savory notes of oxtail and dashi that wasn't too salty. However, I felt like the udon noodles were limp and soggy! Maybe they were overcooked that day. I was also underwhelmed by the toppings -- 2 paper-thin slices of chashu, some fried lotus root, and one piece of bok choy for an 18$ price tag is steep. The Beef Curry Udon was better -- it had some pieces of oxtail in the curry broth, at least. Service was nice and our server even helped us figure out which dishes were dairy-free and offered to sub the meat toppings with extra veggies. Also, there was a lady seated near us making a scene about mold being on her plate. She was livid! She talked to the owner and ended up storming out. Of course I didn't see the mold she was upset about, but yikes!

There was a fairly large parking lot outside of the restaurant which unfortunately was very heavily preoccupied, but I was lucky to have found a spot near the restaurant where I could park. Once entering, I noticed that there was a decent amount of seating (fairly small for a typical restaurant, but still there) and the ambiance was fairly nice. We decided to get the bone broth soup and the traditional noodle soup, both with the thick noodles. Both soups had a delicious, savory flavor and left us both satisfied The service was friendly and would check in on us occasionally to make sure that we were doing well, and the bathroom was clean when I inevitably had to go. The broth and noodles were pretty standard but in a good way. I think the beef is the star of the show - just the right amount of meat/connective ratio so it was really soft and fall apart. We added on extra bokchoy for 75 cents, which was very welcome. The lu ro fan was a nice compliment. Not too greasy and very flavorful. They go very strong on the star anise here, but I don't mind. *Popcorn chicken rice platter - Chicken is juicy and comes out hot. A good portion.
