I tried this place on a Saturday around 1:30. The restaurant was full when we arrived, but luckily a table opened up super quickly. The workers were quick to greet us when we came in. When we sat down, they gave us waters, physical menus, and a tablet to place our order The restaurant isn't super big, but the tables have enough room between them that you don't feel cramped. It felt really clean too. My fiance and I ordered the vermicelli noodles, a side of egg rolls, and a banh mi to split. I also ordered a peach lychee iced tea. The food came pretty fast despite the restaurant being packed. My fiance and I both enjoyed the vermicelli noodles. The lettuce to salad ratio was good and the meat/shrimp had good flavor. It was the perfect amount of food for me and didn't feel super heavy. The egg rolls had good filling and were super flakey. I only had a few bites of the banh mi, but it was equally as enjoyable as the rest of the food. The bread was light and flakey. The meat had a nice char on it with crispy edges. My tea was good too and I liked how many drink options they had. I definitely recommend coming here. read more

I went around 2:00 PM, after the lunch rush, and ordered the spicy beef pho with two ribs. By far, this was one of the best bowls of pho I have had. The broth was absolutely delicious--rich, flavorful, and very satisfying. I had ordered the fresh thick noodles on the side, but regular noodles were also added by mistake. I mentioned it to the staff, and they were very friendly and quickly took care of it for me. The service was prompt, courteous, and genuinely welcoming. The pho comes out with some STEAMING hot broth, just how I like it! It's also served in a nice clean metal bowl, not a stained white cheap plastic bowl like at many other pho places. The first sip of that pho broth sent my tastebuds on a small beefy journey! Immediately I tasted the shrimpy spice of that chili oil, followed by light savory notes of beefiness. Surprisingly, I didn't get too much aromatics like cinnamon or star anise, but some people like their pho broth that way. The thin steak was very tender, and they give you a generous portion of rice noodles. All the usual pho fixings like bean sprouts, mint, lime, and jalapeño are provided as well, of course. Great local eatery. They have a variety of Vietnamese foods featuring pho, bun bo hue, banh mi, and Vietnamese rice plates. They have various appetizers too like takoyaki, shrimp tempura, and Taiwanese popcorn chicken. I'm all for the variety. Popcorn chicken comes with a generous amount of basil but missing the signature spice for popcorn chicken. My 2 year old loves it so I guess that's a win. Don't sleep on the dessert menu they have croffles (croissant+waffle) and bingsu and serve alcohol. Order on an iPad, the staff is very friendly. No high chairs but they do have boosters. My dad had the beef pho, while my mom and I shared the BBQ pork rice plate with a sunny-side-up egg, BBQ pork ribs, and the popcorn chicken rice plate. Everything was excellent! The place is clean with high ceiling, ordering was easy with the ipad and the two young staff were friendly and provided good services. Both of the pho orders came hot with good amount of protein which we liked, they could be a little more generous with the condiments. One thing I noticed with my sensitive taste buds was the slight sour note in the broth instead of slightly sweet taste in most of the other pho eateries. We arrived around 8:18 PM, while the posted closing time was 8:30 PM. There were still plenty of customers sitting inside and eating their food, but we were told that we could not dine in and were only offered takeout. I completely understand that employees need time to clean and close the restaurant. However, if the last seating time is earlier than 8:30 PM, that should be clearly posted so customers know before making the trip. Seeing many other customers still dining inside while we were turned away made the situation even more frustrating. We specifically came to sit down and enjoy our meal, not to get takeout. What disappointed me most was how the situation was handled. Since we arrived before the posted closing time, I expected clearer communication and a more professional and welcoming approach. The food is genuinely very good, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. We were looking for some Vietnamese food, and Pho Kitchen had 4+ stars so we decided to give it a try. Service/Ambiance 4 stars: It has a casual strip mall restaurant nice ambiance, and it was very clean (they use Lysol disinfectant to wipe the tables). We were seated quickly, and the service was immediate and friendly. We ordered our food from a tablet, but they also provided a physical menu, which was appreciated, and our order was delivered promptly. Food 3 stars: was good, but not great. There are ~100 food items and ~50+ beverages on the menu, which are WAY too items many to prepare all of them well. - Taiwanese Basil Popcorn Chicken was very well seasoned and the crispy fried basil was a nice touch, but the breading was so "crispy" it cut the roof of my mouth and the chicken itself was very chewy. - Bbq Pork Vermicelli Salad had lots of fresh veggies, and the bbq pork was very tasty, but the vermicelli noodles themselves were pretty thick and served really warm. Bbq Chicken and Shrimp Vermicelli Salad had the same fresh veggies and warm noodles, the bbq chicken was tasty, but there were only 2 shrimp (mentioned in another review, and there are other photos of this dish with 2 shrimp). We randomly came across Pho Kitchen on Yelp and decided to give it a try after reading a couple reviews. We visited on a Friday evening, a little after 5pm and the place wasn't too packed yet, but a lot more people began coming in around 5:30-5:45pm. What was ordered: + seafood combination with fresh noodles - I enjoy fresh noodles (these were an additional $1 charge) but the noodles were cooked a bit too soft. The seafood combination is meant to be a chicken broth but I think with all the seafood in it, the chicken soup lost its flavor. They gave a good amount of imitation crab, shrimp and fish balls so that was a plus. + braised short rib noodle soup - I enjoyed the broth more in this dish and it came with two ribs that were cooked well and fell off the bone fairly easily. I'd recommend this one if you're planning to visit. + popcorn chicken - reminded me a lot of what you'd get at a Quickly's, the breading was alright and it came with a sweet and sour sauce. They were generous with the basil! The restaurant itself is clean and the staff members are polite. We noticed that Yelp is showing a "No tipping" policy, but that wasn't the case. When you go to the register to pay, there is an option to tip so that was a little strange. Overall, a decent place with your general Bay Area pho pricing. read more
