We stopped here after a long day looking for a home cooked meal. My son was buying, so yay! We ordered a large mixed pho, tofu bahn mi, and summer rolls. The pho was 4/5. The meat was a bit sparse and the mix not as varied as other places. The broth was quite tasty, portion enormous, and noodles interesting as they were thin, the last a nice textural difference. The bahn mi was amazing. I ordered it without pate. They removed some of the inner bread which made it more crisp and fulfilling as the focus was on the contents. The tofu serving was generous. One negative aspect was that they added hoisin sauce, which I would have preferred omitted (too sweet). Would have been 5/5 had it not been for the hoisin. The summer rolls were adequate. 3-4/5. The prices were good. With no drinks, it came to $25ish including tax. Not bad. My teenager ate every bite. My boyfriend touted this joint as the "best pho in the world" and I can't really argue....it was delicious. I had the veggie pho which came hot and full of yummy things, their broth is deep and warming and they have a selection of sauces to add to flavor. I also liked the heaping load of sprouts, mint and peppers that came with it. We also shared a banhmi which was truly great. Soft bread, the right mix of veggies and meat and absolutely perfect for dipping in the pho. We ordered fresh rolls but we got pot stickers (no biggie, they were kinda busy) which were ok but the sauce that came with them was great. Someone back there clearly knows how to cook! Wow! What a totally great find. A friend of mine and I went here on a total whim ( *cough* because I was hungover *cough*) after we grabbed some coffee down the road at Red Elm. Based on the area and just from the outside, I wasn't expecting much. However, I did notice they were sporting a "People love us on Yelp!" sticker. Kudos. It was later in the afternoon on a Wednesday, so we got a seat quickly. Service was friendly the entire time. I opted for my usual, brisket pho, and I added extra broth to the order. I also added a side of rice for my son. The side of rice is always a HUGE portion, but that's okay. The regular sized bowl of pho is what I would compare to a medium at other places, so it's a good portion. The broth was delicious. Lots of flavor, not sweet (my broth pet peeve), and something I could enjoy without adding anything at all. I ended up adding a little Sriracha about halfway through just because I started to crave that spice. The cuts of brisket were fantastic. Super tender and not fatty whatsoever. Noodles were your standard pho noodles, but they were good. What really blew me away was the price - even with adding extra broth and getting a massive side of rice, my total was only $10. I had food from here for four meals in a row. It's that good. Meal #1 Dined in with my gf. I got the grilled pork and egg rolls noodle bowl (bun). The grilled pork is perfection, sweet and savory. The portion is big and all the ingredients are fresh. I also tried her veggie egg rolls and veggie pho, which were tasty (if you're into that sort of thing). Meal #2 Leftover bun for breakfast. Yes it was that much food. #lifehackprotip, finish the egg rolls during the original meal because they tend to disintegrate overnight if you've mixed the sauce in. Meal #3 Took home a grilled pork bahn mi from the night before, ate it for breakfast. Same superior pork in a big sandwich with pickled veggies and a creamy sauce. Pho King throws onions into the mix, a surprising but not unwelcome twist on the classic. Meal #4 Went back with a friend for dinner. Ordered the house special pho, which came with beef, tripe, tendon, and meatballs. The large was just $1 more than the regular, and was a really large portion. I needed a late lunch after checking into the Courtyard Tacoma - after a check of Yelp - I found Pho King with an average of four stars. Ordered my standard order - the fresh garden rolls and a bowl of Pho Ga. Before they brought out the Garden Rolls - they brought me some little baked puffed pastry thing. Odd - never seen that before in a Pho place. I tasted it - nothing special about it. I did not eat it. Garden rolls came out fairly quickly with a bowl of peanut sauce. Added some Sriracha sauce to the peanut sauce. Rolls were fresh and delicious! Pho came out with a nice plate of aromatics: Basil, lime, jalapeños, and bean sprouts. Bowl of Pho was nice and steaming hot. First time I've experienced a bowl of Pho Ga with Broccoli and thinly sliced carrots - but was a nice healthy touch I thought. The Pho Ga broth was very average. Not a lot of depth of flavor or richness to the broth. Still, the aromatics and some Sriracha sauce helped make the broth more palatable. It's "pho-king" great! I decided to come here feeling Vietnamnese food, and this place is spot-on with their food and prices. The service here was excellent. The menu has pictures of some of the food in case you're a newbie. The waiter was very friendly and prompt. We ordered spring rolls and it came within 5 minutes! The spring rolls were good, a little too chewy, but the peanut sauce makes up for it. I ordered the vermicelli bowl with shrimp, egg rolls, and pork (#33) which was everything I wanted. The egg rolls were hot and crispy, the shrimp had a lot of flavor, the produce was fresh, and the pork was cooked just right. The only complaint about this dish was that the noodles were a bit springy. The place itself is a bit beat up, we sat on the booths which had some tearing on the seats and the tables are very scratched. I will most likely come here again! It's cheap (less than $20 for an appetizer and 2 meals), the food is good, and the service is quick!
