If you need actual flavor with your pho, don't bother coming here for a late night pho especially since you can't even dine in. My family and I were in the area, so we decided to grab a late lunch at Pho Tai. My sister and dad both ordered pho, but I ordered a vermicelli salad bowl. I ordered #32 (char-broiled pork, noodles, salad, fish sauce, assorted veggies, and egg roll). This is a very big bowl; maybe even bigger than the last time I was here. We've been coming here for years and the food is always consistently good. The space is small and drafty on cold days but the staff is usually super friendly and attentive. A few things that I don't like about eating here are... They usually serve your appetizers at the same time as they serve your entrees and not before as typically a restaurant would. When two or more people at a table order Pho, they bring out the accoutrements and utensils on one plate and this usually means less portions for each person who ordered. They have now enacted an automatic gratuity policy so if you show up with a party of six people or more, they automatically add a 15% gratuity to your bill. I'm sorry but this makes me pretty upset. Tipping is NOT required in most cases and even though this staff is nice. They absolutely do not put in the same effort as the staff in a larger upscale restaurant does. This is a tiny mom and pop eatery with 28 seats tops. A required gratuity seems a bit outlandish for the likes of me. Maybe you disagree but this is my opinion. If you have 5 or less in your party and you're looking for some good Pho or Vietnamese food, then give them a try. If you need dinner for six or more, keep looking. read more

Pretty good pho joint tucked in the busy plaza on this corner. The staff was nice and attentive with the tables and floors clean and shiny. Been a regular here for years, food quality isn't a problem but their front end service is another story. Wait staff is indifferent and weirdly combative about mistaken orders. Called about a mistaken order and they went straight to attacking my wife calling her a liar, saying she didn't order what she ordered. They tried to gas light me about her ordering something else when I was with her the whole time. She tried to go in person to resolve it and they just doubled down and started talking in another language as if she wasn't standing there. Food quality is fine but portions are always going down and prices are twice what they're worth. It's on average about 40 dollars for two entrees and there's places with better customer service that charge a in the 20-30 dollar range for two entrees. Ive always lived close to here and loved it but the service is so inconsistent it's not worth eating here anymore. The fact they ask for tips here blows my mind. If you take the time to read this review, do yourself a favor and order somewhere else. Seems like half the people I interact with here have the same experience. Phó Tai Restaurant used to be our go to spot for Thai food. No more. We placed a delivery order several days ago and our order was shorted. We ordered two (2) Spring Rolls with peanut dipping sauce. Package delivered (via Postmates) and the peanut sauce and one of the spring rolls was missing. We contacted Phó Tai and the lady I spoke with offered no concern or assistance at all. In fact, she stated that if we wanted to either get our money back (on one spring roll) we would have to come into the restaurant to get it a refund or replacement. I insisted that we would not come to the restaurant, thus the reason for delivery order. Extremely poor customer service. As a side note, the Ox Tail soup when previously ordered (on numerous occasions), was great and the meat was fall-off-the-bone tender. The delivery order received was extremely tough and chewy. Apparently there's a new cook in the kitchen. And the single spring roll was dry and tough, as though it was a left over from the day before. First off, I'm probably the only weirdo that's not into pho at all...I know right? So, I can't really give any feedback on that piece unfortunately (I've heard nothing but good things though). It's the tofu banh mi for me. Seriously bomb.com and I feel like they get tastier every time I order them. I'm not sure what it is about their version that makes it better than the others, maybe it's the umami Mayo? Or the crisp pickled veggies on the sandwich? Regardless, it's consistently fire! I was a bit hesitant trying this place out at first but then I found out what the appeal was. For one, the serving is a lot more than your typical Víet spot for the price. The location is convenient, accessible and there's ample amount of parking. Inside the restaurant is pretty straightforward. The tables are clean, the floors are clean and the bathrooms were clean as well. The Menu offers the standard selections (with the corresponding numbers) and the turn around time are spot on as well. I was with friends during the time of my visit and it wasn't as hectic yet. So I ordered their Vermicelli Bowl. To my surprise, A huge bowl of food arrived and a medium bowl of Nuoc Mam (Odd but it makes totally sense then I finally reached the bottom of the bowl). I totally get it why this place receives a lot of attention from everyone. The name of the game is quantity and some people would choose that over experience. The quality and the attention is there but its not a pretty well-balanced dish. Majority of the vegetable are fresh and the proteins (egg roll, meat, seafood) are very well seasoned. So what went wrong? The Nuoc Mam is watered down. The serving size ration is wrong.... but is still a better value if you're a glutton. It's just too much man and the satisfaction you feel is from the feeling of fullness rather than the actual experience of eating Vietnamese Cuisine. Would I come back? Probably not but if every you find yourself nearby and haven't had anything to eat in a few days then this is the place for you. I'm sorry, this restaurant is good, the food is good but I'm giving a one star because one of their employee stole 2 bucks for tip off my debit card. I specifically crossed out the tip on the merchant copy because I left a tip in cash, my total was supposed to be 36.36 which is what I signed for and I check my account online and see they charged 38.36 Won't be coming back to a place that steals. Unfortunate since the food is good. I know it's only 2 dollars, but it's the point that this place has a dishonest person handling money for them. Morally, stealing is wrong anyway and that's what I'm most upset about, not the amount. My advice is to pay cash, don't use your card to spare you the same problem I just went through. read more
