Good Pho place very close to Levi's stadium. Has all the standard Vietnamese favorites. Prices are reasonable and a good place to grab a bite, but not a place to take a date. Seems family owned and operated but I can't be sure. Given that Sam Darnold apparently always grabs a Pho the day before a game with the other QBs, wouldn't be surprised if they got it from here before the big game. My first time here and I liked it! I love the options available in the menu, staff and service. Prices are average, the size of the portions is good. The restroom is spacious and quite unique, I liked the style and glass sink:) On the downside is that when we came some options in the menu were not available. For a vegetarian it might be very important. Parking is big, there are more places behind the building. read more

I frequent this place ever since I moved to San Jose for university. I suffer from chronic migraines, and pho broth is one of the main remedies that make the pain less severe for me. My migraine was really bad today, and I came in 30 minutes before closing. I also had a bad day in general, with midterms coming up, and things that happened outside my school life. I felt really bad that I came in at such a time, but the two ladies treated me with hospitality and welcomed me in. This has been a long time favorite. I don't get there very often but when I do, I love it every single time.

I like the fresh noodles and the meatballs, but the pho soup is a bit on the darker side and more oily. The fried egg rolls are tasty and well fried, with enough fillings, without being overloaded with taro or other items. You have to ask for fish sauce and lettuce though. Overall, another Americanized Vietnamese restaurant, but decent. This was the second time here within 5 days and I drove 20'minutes to get here. The staff was really helpful during a very busy lunch rush. Parking took quite a bit. This time, I called ahead and was there 10 minutes before closing. I came here on a whim to meet up with a friend on weeknight for dinner and the place was pretty empty. You can always expect to have decent pho in the east SJ area but this pho was just okay. The small serving sizes for $10.25 seemed a little much to me, and service was also not anything special. I ordered the vegetarian Pho Chay and the broth was a little salty for my taste, lacking flavor, and reminiscent of a cabbage water (even tho there was no cabbage in the actual pho). The veggies were done well and the tofu was fried but very standard pho chay. My friend ordered the #1 and he also said it was okay. Location is ideal if you're looking for a light dinner before a concert at Levi's or a day of oily food at Great America, and parking is easy. read more

But I was in shock with the price so I need to write this . - server should let customer know that they would get charged extra for meatballs and fresh noodles (I agreee that separate charges for meatballs and fresh noodle was normally before, but most places dont do it nowadays because the price for 1 bowl of Pho is already too high). - without the portion of extra meatball, the original portion of meat is way too less for a $16.5 (after tax) bowl of Pho. I tried this spot on a whim despite not having the highest rating on Yelp bc it's close to work and I was really craving a hot bowl of pho. I got there was immediately sat and ordered the rare flank pho & crispy veggie rolls. The pho of course came out first and was piping hot! I took a sip and the broth was just so flavorful. The meat was also very tender, which a lot of times at other restaurants it's kind of tough. The crispy egg rolls were also really good, although a little on the smaller side but that was fine since it was just me today. I also really like that they had chili oil available which is my favorite topping for my pho! Meh, this place isn't very good. I recommend eating next door at Chicken Meets Rice instead. I ordered pho number 1. My noodles were super hard and didn't separate well. It tasted uncooked. The soup is more on the sweet side and didn't have much flavor. It's comparable to drinking boiled onion water -- you can taste minor flavors of sweetest from the onion, but it's washed out by water. Meat was okay. Very mediocre pho. I would definitely skip this place and find something better elsewhere. read more

Pho Khang is not really worth driving out of your way for, but with its decent fare at reasonable prices, it's a good place as any to meet up with friends to unwind at the end of a brain-draining workday. My Pad Thai Chicken ($8.50) came with chicken, egg, tofu, rice noodles, bean sprouts, and crushed peanuts on the side. The chicken was just a little dry but the quantity was adequate. Pad Thai is a pretty safe dish, and you can't go wrong with it here. The wife ordered the Chicken Curry ($8.50) which came with white rice, salad, and chicken and carrots in curry. The salad was typical with iceberg lettuce, but the mango dressing added some character. The curry was sweet and spicy at the same time, and the amount of rice was more than enough to pour all the curry over. Though I enjoyed my Pad Thai, I enjoyed the wife's Chicken Curry even more. Fortunately for me, she was only able to eat 3/4 of her food, and I had to help finish her plate. Score! Service was all-around friendly and they didn't mind our group paying with three credit cards, something that we have trouble with at some other places. read more

Came here on a friday afternoon during lunch time. There wasn't a wait compared to the surrounding restaurants. So we got chicken pho, beef ball pho, and bbq pork spring rolls. Their chicken pho was alright, there was a specific after taste in the broth that I wasn't fond of at all, so i squeezed about a whole lime in there and that took away the after taste. Asides from that aftertaste, there wasn't enough flavor to the soup either. But there was a good amount of chicken in there which was pretty good. My cousin had the beef ball pho, so I'm not sure how good it was for her, but she didn't complain so it must've been pretty decent. Now....let's talk about the pork spring rolls. I have never been so disappointed in spring rolls before in my life....So the pork it self was seasoned pretty well...but it tasted like dried pork...maybe even a bit like beef jerky. My co-worker and I coming here for lunch often. The service is great and quick, the value is good for lunch prices $8.99 for my favorite dish #33 rice plate with satay chicken and shrimp. The chicken and shrimp is season very well with bold flavors in every bite. The plate presentation is impeccable for a quick bite for lunch. I have had phó in probably 15 places around the bay area by now. I only like two of them. And that is because of the noodles & meat they use. There is a rice noodle that similar to angel hair spaghetti; very thin and placed at the bottom of the bowl before they pour the broth in. Because the noodles are so thin they clump together with little space between them making them kind of cold & hard even with very hot broth. I really have to stir up the bowl before I eat it. The second part is the meat. There is fresh chicken or raw beef and then there's frozen. Naturally fresh chicken meat including the skin is the best l. Frozen dry chicken strips is not very good. This place does both The cold rice noodles and the frozen chicken. Too bad. read more

Clean broth, portions are not disappointing- it's cute how they serve good french fries with their banh mi. I am ALWAYS IMPRESSED by their papaya salad- it is always, every time super fresh like they just grated it per order and the flavor of the light fish sauce dressing and peppers, spot on. I have prob been here 25 times because it is close to home and consistently good food. I will say I went here once since covid and they didn't offer the papaya salad which I understand- limited menus during this time makes sense. "I'm tired of these mother Pho Khang snakes on this mother Pho Khang plane!" I discovered this place sounds like a bad word! If you remember that "pho" is pronounced "fa" and follow that quickly with "khang" you get... well, you can figure it out. Awesome. Now I want to go here more just so I can say things like: "Quit Pho Khang around!" "Pho Khang A!" "Are you Pho Khang kidding me?" The first time I went here at 2 p.m. we had the place to ourselves. The second time I visited at 12:30 we got the only open table. Decor consists of a bunch of tables. The chicken sauteed with green bean over steamed rice ($7.25) included white meat chicken (a plus!), and the flavor was strong but a little one dimensional. The bun (vermicelli noodles) with grilled lemongrass chicken was $7.25, but I splurged and paid 20 cents more for the version with an eggroll. The eggroll was very fried, filled with shrimp and only OK. The bun needed more in terms of bean sprouts, peanuts, and herbs. The lemongrass chicken wasn't very lemongrassy in taste, and the sauce didn't really complement the bun. My friend really liked the pork bun. I feel like this place has potential. After a chilly morning on the banks of the Alviso Slough some warm soup really sounded good. So I Yelped Phô on my phone and I saw this place come up. I recalled a Yelp friend checking in here recently and he didn't have anything bad to say so I thought we'd give it a go. Here's the skinny: Spring Rolls- The Spring Rolls were nothing special. They tasted slightly below-average and were not very fresh. The price ($4.50) was also a bit high for the amount they give you; which I wouldn't have minded if they were better tasting. 2.5* Phô: Broth- The soup broth was quite good on its own. It had a nice beefy flavor; slight sweetness; and wasn't overly salty. 4* Noodles- Pretty standard noodles you find at 90% of Phô joints; nothing great but nothing bad. 3* Meat- They provide an OK amount of meat for the money; the price tag ($8.50 large) is a little high for Phô and I would expect a little more than what they provide. The meat quality was slightly above-standard. 3.5* Service- Warning: I'm about to get on my soapbox so feel free to skip this section. I don't know what it is that makes most Asian restaurants feel that it's OK to provide piss-poor service. I guess they've beaten us over the head with it enough that we just come to expect it and that's fine, I suppose, but my last two experiences at Phô restaurants (Phô Kang & Four Seasons) have been the absolute worst. I held back on bitching Four Seasons out because I had already slammed their food and I don't believe in piling on, but I reached my limit yesterday. I must look like Tim Allen because that's the only possible reason I could think of why a waiter/waitress would grunt at me unintelligible words. It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever been privy to. It's not THAT difficult to just be civil. If you can't handle that and you're a waiter/waitress then it's time for a career change; I'm thinking Bank Loan Manager? OK I'm done.. I had to get that off my chest. So in summation: pretty good Phô but awful service. I can't bring myself to recommend this place to my friends because the deserve to be treated better. Decent Pho & a decent selection of rice & noodle dishes... Broth here is actually pretty tasty & they do offer sides of onions marinated in vinegar as well as the fatty onion broth... (no fresh noodle option however). Pretty efficient spot as food is typically delivered (regardless of how busy) within minutes of ordering... Yes, though the Pho here is pretty tasty, my major gripe is how skimpy the dishes are. I've never yet left content & felt like going next door immediately following my meal to Butter & Zeus to grab some banana pudding or a burger @ Carl's on the way back to the office... What do I usually do with the Pho is skimpy? Follow up with Banh Mi! Banh Mi here though? $7.95!!! WTF? Suckers better be made with Kurobuta Pork Loin or at least lined with gold leaf... Jeezuz... I've NEVER seen a more expensive Banh Mi, especially one that is just your standard, run-of-the-mill French Roll/Traditional filling where you could typically get 4 of these guys for the price of ONE that they charge here... In summary, pretty decent/tasty option when in a pinch (one of the closer options near my office), though guaranteed (at least for me) to still have a "rumbly in my tumbly" on the way out the door... Price of the banh mi here gets under my skin as well, though I'll NEVER buy one to see if it's actually worth the money... (I keep visualizing the scene from Pulp Fiction @ Jack Rabbit Slim's when Vincent asks to take a sip of Mia's shake to see how good a $5.00 shake taste like). I know, $5.00 is pretty standard now but this was 1994 People! We're talking $7.89 if we account for inflation! Though I digress... Regardless, no way in hell (strictly out of principle) am I paying $8.00 for a sammy that I could find anywhere else for $2.00... Ok, I'm done venting... Will I be back you ask? I've had their pho before and it's decent, considering the area. There's no other pho places around so you don't have a choice if you're craving vietnamese. Came here last week and ordered the vermicelli for the first time in my life, decided I wanted something lighter. I ordered the "grilled beef" vermicelli dish thinking id get the grilled slices of beef. No, I ended up getting beef rolls with onions inside -- what the heck?? So I asked the waitress: Waitress: "oh yeah, they're not really grilled beef, even though it says grilled". Me: "okay, so what is this?" Waitress: "it's grilled onion in beef rolls" Me: "how do I get the pieces of grilled beef?" Waitress: "you can't. You'd have to order pork." Me: "why isn't your description better?"
