I've tried this place twice, and I'd say it's a bit hit or miss depending on what you order. The first time, I came specifically for the Banh Uot (item #24), which not many Vietnamese spots offer around here. I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5. It was tasty and came with a generous portion of food. Just a heads-up: it takes about 15 to 20 minutes to prepare. So if someone orders it before you, you'll be waiting for theirs to finish before yours is started. If you're in a time crunch, I recommend calling ahead for pickup. The staff are friendly, direct, and efficient. On my second visit, I ordered the beef pho (item #28), which I'd rate 2 out of 5. The broth was quite sweet and heavy on the cinnamon, which overpowered the other flavors. I had to add a lot of chili sauce and hoisin to balance it out. They do offer thicker noodles (usually for the chicken pho), and you can request them for any pho. The beef pho typically comes with thinner noodles. I ordered the small size, and it still had a good portion of meat and noodles for the price. Overall, I'll continue coming back for the Banh Uot, which I really enjoy, and I'm open to trying other dishes. Parking: This spot is in the Richmond District, so it's all street parking. You can usually find free spots in the nearby residential areas, while Clement and Geary have metered parking near the shops.

No frills, excellent Vietnamese food! I highly recommend the bún thịt nướng, you get the best fresh flavor with an array of grilled shrimp, pork, and veggies with nước mắm (viet fish dipping fish sauce) It was just as good as my parent's cooking, which says a lot!

Solid pho on Clement St! I came for a solo lunch on the weekend and it was pretty empty, though there was plenty of space. I got the combo with rare beef and meatballs and it wasn't overly oily or salty. Not mind-blowing but hearty and good.

We were in the area and wanted to try a local spot on clement street. I wanted soup and we found this place through Yelp! This was a mom and pop shop where the food is delicious and authentic. I ordered a small rare steak pho. The broth was made from beef and very flavorful. There were two things that stood out for me! 1) There was a picked garlic jar that had some great vinegar and spice flavor which added a new dimension to my pho. No other pho place does this! 2) Their fresh spring rolls were super fresh and made with grilled pork. Wow this touch made the dish stand out! I also loved the thick peanut dipping sauce they provided! The only thing that I did not like was the Thai iced tea. It was not sweet at all and did not have enough half and half. I would bilge recommend trying to place out. Prices were affordable as well! I highly recommend you check this place out for some good pho!

I was in the area (on Clement) this afternoon and I was in the mood for pho. There were three pho restaurants on Clement I was trying to decide which I should went for lunch. Pho Huynh Sang, Mai Vietnamese, Y&Y Vietnamese Cuisine (I know there are more than these three on Clement alone) but I have never been to any of these. So I decided to go to Pho Huynh Sang. The ambiance was authentic, neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant serving pho and standard Vietnamese fare. However their pho was average in my opinion. I've had so many others that's better. This was underwhelming. Broth was cloudy and oily.

My friend and I stayed in the area for Outsidelands weekend and was looking for somewhere to eat. We looked up this spot and decided to give it a try. We came last Sunday, which happened to be a during the farmers market, located in front of the business! We were quickly welcomed and seated anywhere we liked. Menus are underneath the glass table so it never got dirty. Food came out really fast. I appreciate how big imperial rolls were! It was nice and crispy. My friend ordered a small rare steak pho (pho tai). Reasonably priced! I got the grilled lemongrass pork with imperial roll vermicelli bowl. Meat was flavorful and not tough. For $16, it was a generous bowl and I left very full. There is a good selection of items on their menu. Service was fast and employees were so kind and nice. Gotta support those small businesses! Cash and card accepted.

I came to have a quick dinner and was so pleasantly surprised by this place. My bf and I came on a whim and we'll definitely be coming back now. The food we got was so worth it for the price, $29 for two people before tip. Simple atmosphere and service, but it just let the food shine through. My bf got the bun hue chay, or vegetarian version of bun bo hue. It came with lots of fried tofu, tofu skin, vegetarian ham, and a good amount of veggies. The soup was flavorful with a nice lemongrass flavor, and slightly spicy. My bf loved this soup, he is used to maybe only having a bland vegetarian pho on the menu, so this was a new dish for him. I wasn't too hungry so I got the 5 color salad with shrimp, which is not something I usually see on the menu at Vietnamese restaurants. It came with thinly sliced mango, jicama, apple, pickled carrots, cucumber, egg, pumpkin seeds and other crunchy goodies, and a fish sauce dressing. The presentation was so appetizing and showcased the serious knife skills. Wow, this was a complete flavor and texture explosion! Everything mixed together was sweet, savory, tangy with a great crunch in every bite. I added some of the chili sauce and it was absolutely perfect. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and had a nice smoky flavor from the grill. I will definitely be back for a satisfying bowl of soup soon!

My favorite lunch on the weekends! Delicious Phô and salads and all the other plates and iced coffee that perks me up no matter the weather. Especially love the steaming bowls of Phô and broths. Mièn Li is always wonderful on the floor very friendly and helpful. Little bits of artwork drawings on the tables make for a homey atmosphere tucked among the menus.

I've been coming here for so long and every time i do the food is delicious! This is a no fuss kind of spot. Short wait time for the food to arrive. Afterwards, check your table number and pay at the front. If you do have any leftovers, it's .25. My bf and i love their imperial rolls and we usually get them with our meal. I'll usually order some kind of pho and my bf loves their banh mis. * Grilled Five Spice Chicken Sandwich $9.00 * Seafood Noodle Soup $13.05 Phở, Hải Sản Shrimp, fish balls, fish cake and fake crab stick with chicken broth. * Crispy Imperial Rolls $11.00 Chả Giò Mặn Shredded carrots, taro, jicama, glass noodle, ear mushroom and pork

I was feeling kinda blehhh on a chilly and rainy day. I hadn't eaten all day and got off work early and my mind wanted nothing more than some bomb pho. I'm new to the city so I didn't really know where to go. But I rely on trusty google photos to do the picking for me! And the photos looked phoking great lolz The atmosphere was cozy and quaint. I was mom verbally seated as the owners handled a large group of guest-- this I appreciated (something about informality that makes me feel welcome). I ordered the bbq beef pho (large) with iced tea. The broth was super fragrant and the beef had a wonderful color. This bowl hit the spot, man. Sometimes you get beef that is sort of tasty and has no color, looks dry sage for being in broth, but this was excellent. I think I paid about $23-24 for the whole meal. The tea is about $6 and I think the large bowl was $14 or $15. Honestly, I'm 6'3 and 225lbs and was wicked hungry and it was too much almost for me haha. Go with the regular one. 10/10 will come back.

Shrimp and pork spring rolls...we needed TWO orders!

Was in the City this past weekend. My niece had her high school grad photoshoot at the Conservatory of Flowers. Although it was hot when we left Antioch that was not the case in SF of course. Although it was a tad cloudy it wasn't as windy as it could have been and it didn't rain. So mission accomplished. Whilst the photoshoot was happening I was in charge of figuring out what we would eat afterwards. When I asked a few of those what they felt like I only needed to mention pho once and everyone's eyes lit up. We all were in need of something to warm us up from the inside out. We had a vegetarian with us so I needed to find a place that was 1. nearby; 2. had vegetarian options. This place had some pretty decent review, were nearby and the photo of the food looked delish. We headed over around 4ish. A few patrons in the place. We found parking relatively fast. Lots of metered street parking all around; no individual parking lot dedicated to this restaurant. So plan accordingly. We were greeted upon entering. We were seated at a large round table in front of the window. We were 6 hungry people. The menu's are conveniently displayed under the glass top of the table. The middle aged asian lady came to our table to take our drink and appetizer orders. We all ordered a waters, 5 of us ordered thai iced teas (2 with boba and the rest without, and my niece ordered a tumeric ginger tea. The Thai Teas were delicious that 2 of us ordered a second round. Probably not a good idea that the two that ordered seconds of thai teas were the kids..hahaha! My niece ordered the tumeric tea under the impression it was going to be hot but it was served over ice. She loved it though and is still talking about said tea days later. As apps we ordered 2 ordered of shrimp and pork spring rolls. We also ordered some crispy imperial rolls. Spring rolls were fresh and peanut sauce was on point. Imperial rolls were as expected and just as yummy. 4 of 6 of us order small bowls of chicken pho. I ordered the small beef ball and tendon pho with a side of raw beef (+$3). My son, the vegetarian ordered a vegetarian vermicelli bowl. My son was happy with his. Everyone seemed happy with their chicken pho. My beef pho was exactly what my soul needed. We all sipped our soup and could feel ourselves thawing out. I also ordered the rice flour sheet cake (#24). The sheet cake was thin and yummy. The lemongrass pork was marinated well and grilled nicely. The cha lua (pork roll) was that neutral item that ties it altogether with a big bright bow. All the veggies that came in dishes and as garnish was also so fresh and vibrant in color. Oh and there is a mochi donut spot across the street so eat here and then walk over there for a mochi donut or two :-). You're welcome!

This is the best Vietnamese place in the neighborhood. The people are fantastic. The vegetarian dishes are numerous. I love their vegetarian imperial rolls. Their fresh rolls are fabulous too
