My go to place for take out when I have a hangover. Not sure why, but pho is my new favorite hangover food. Forget greasy, fattening, no vitamin foods. Pho has the nutrition, meats, and veggies to help your hangover! And this place is the best! One of the few pho places I've tried around this area and I'm glad that I did. What we got: the pork banh mi, the spring rolls with shrimp and pork loin, the house special pho and the steak and brisket pho. Pork banh mi: wow, such fresh bread. The pork was a bit chewy but overall delicious sandwich. Spring rolls: Nothing to complain about. The house special: We tried tendon and tripe for the first time and weren't such big fans but I do know others love it. Steak and brisket pho: I personally like my broth to be more clear with a bit less oil but it still tasted delicious. Overall, this place is v cheap and well worth it. I have ordered from this place maybe 4 times in the past few months . Each time I've been pleasantly impressed by their quality , size and the price . First let me tell you, when taking out, they put everything separate, so it doesn't mess up and you serve it as you please. I like that because I like to get the large one and split to 2 meals for myself. I have tried their special pho, shrimp pho and their shrimp spring rolls . Other than the spring rolls which I thought were lacking flavor, everything has been amazing every single time. Today, I decided to dine in. I ordered the shrimp pho and was great as usual . I also ordered the egg rolls for appetizer. I asked them to bring the egg rolls first which they did. The order came literally 5 min after I placed it . Then 5 min after they brought the pho . I noticed there were 8 shrimps today instead of 10 last time. I'm not sure if they go by count or weight. The shrimps were large though and tender. Something about their soup makes you want more and more . I actually crave pho very frequently thanks for this place . The service is on point . There's this guy which I believe should be the owner who is always there and takes the order. The lady at the cashier may probably be the wife . Looks like they care about their business and they deliver excellent quality food and good service . This is actually THE BEST pho I've had since moving to the LA area. Hands-down. I'm only giving it 5 stars, because there's no option for 10!!. I used to live in San Jose, which has a large and vibrant Vietnamese community, and the best Vietnamese food anywhere. I was worried I'd never find the same kind of food here in LA. Limited options in Glendale so I decided to try this pho place rather than the other one that's actually much closer to my home. Parking is limited as the restaurant shares a parking lot with other businesses. It's a one way into the lot so watch out, I almost turned in where it was "exit only". I got the special pho and the pork chop rice plate and egg rolls as well. Pho was good for being in Glendale and the pork chop was a bit dry. The egg rolls were good! Okay, hear me out. Food was delicious, 8/10. The reason for the low stars was due to the SERVICE and for the fact that it was an irritating experience. They definitely do struggle when it's busy. It becomes very chaotic and the workers do not work well together. Their communication skill is ZERO. We were seated late, despite our table being open. We finally ordered and then the drinks, food, and sides came out late. Interestingly enough, others who came out AFTER us were already served their food. When our food finally came, we didn't have spoons to eat with. I kept waving someone down, but it took forever. Then one of our orders were missing. So, I requested an update and they said the dish was a "long" process (spring rolls), and it's going to take time. 15 minutes later I ask someone else for the order and they said, "I am so sorry, it's been ready, I do not know why they didn't bring it out to you". Finally, when we want to leave, I ask for the check, and it takes 30 minutes. When they finally bring me the check, the waiter said "Here is the check but it's not the final total because we didn't add one item yet". Uhhhh? Okay? Why bring a check that is not ready? Does that make any sense? To be charge me twice? So, I sent the waiter back and said bring me the check with the FINAL AMOUNT. At this point my blood was boiling. So, when I was looking for Pho I came across this business. And I am so glad I did. It's so good it's become one of my goto places. I've stuck to the soups. All kinds of them. Again, I ordered the Pho Tai Bo Vien, which not on the menu, but a custom order of meats, not uncommon to other pho restaurants. Amazing once again. This time I added an order of Nem Nuong Cuon and it was awful. It was so dry and the sauce didn't taste like anything. But I still like the pho, which why I went there. My first visit here was comical but I have to say the main waiter is something else when you ask for something and he doesn't come around. I had ordered a few items from the menu such as summer rolls and spring rolls and a large pho that I never received, which was fine because with the rolls I got full. On my second visit I ended up coming earlier in the day during the week and actually got the Pho I ordered, tasted fine and filled me up but again the service was very forgetful in checking up on visitors. In short: I love this place. My family discovered this hole in the wall when my parents were visiting me last March and staying at a hotel in downtown Burbank. Having a fiance who is Vietnamese-American, I've become quite addicted to the delicious, fresh flavors of Vietnamese cuisine, particularly the banh mi (my favorite sandwich). Admittedly, Pho Hot place doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't let that deter you. I've always found parking every time I've been there, and the lot isn't that big. The service is, as others have pointed out, amazing. Every time I've gone in, within a few seconds (no lie), someone has shown me to a seat. Now onto the food. One thing I learned from having a Vietnamese S.O.: banh mis are meant to be filling AND cheap, and anything above a certain price threshold (ie, $5) is (according to my fiance) "too expensive." Pho Hot's banh mis run approximately $4.50, a steal of a deal (considering banh mis on my side of the hills run around $12). Pho Hot's vermicelli bowls are also priced budget-friendly (approximately $8, if I remember correctly). They're both extremely delicious, filling, fresh-tasting and leave me wanting more. Are they the best banh mis I've ever had? No, but they're the best bang for the buck that you can get within 15 miles of Los Angeles proper, hands down. The service is great. The food is great. The price is great. It's well worth the drive from over the hill. Pho Hot rocks. Give these guys your business. read more
