Came here on a Friday during lunch and it was packed. Had to wait about 15-20 minutes for a table. Prices were reasonable and the broth really hit the spot. My boyfriend got the large bowl of pho and I got the regular which was plenty. We shared an order of spring rolls and a Vietnamese coffee. Plaza is pretty small so parking is limited. My son and I were starving after a long day of running errands. I saw this place on the way to a new mechanic. I stopped in afterward and ordered Steak Pho #10, egg rolls # 1, two Bahn mi sandwiches, and a Vietnamese iced coffee. The food came out immediately. Hot and delicious. I had the large Special bowl which wasn't too large compared to some of the other joints I've been to. I thought the broth lacked flavor. They give a lot of meats but it sort of overwhelmed the bowl as the ratio of noodles to meat was lacking. The meats were tender and not chewy so that's always a plus. The broth used to make it was amazing, which made the entire dish spectacular! The spring rolls contained pork, shrimp, vegetables, and vermicelli noodles. They were delicious! The sauce made a great pair to it as well. Being at place known for Vietnamese cooking, I got their thai iced tea! Not too bitter or sweet, which was good for me because I like my iced drinks subtle. Service: Friendly and fast! Within the first 15 minutes of arriving, we were seated, our order was taken, and our food arrived! I can't recall a time when another place had this fast of a service! Being the glutton that I am, I ordered two for myself. Both the Beef and Pork Banh Mi sandwiches had juicy, flavorful meats with generous servings of cilantro. The quality of food over the years has greatly declined. There is more focus on fast in lieu of quality based on the insistence to precook noodles, leaving them to congeal in the bowl until the broth is poured on. I don't find spending time pulling noodles apart appealing. Shrinking portion sizes as well as meat quality is also an issue. read more

Damn that's the good pho. The House Special has all the goods (including tripe, etc) all cooked to a beautiful texture, and that broth is just savory and clean to a solid degree. We shared an egg roll - I usually opt for spring rolls, but it was cold out - and goddamn they were good. The right thickness (a little thinner than I usually find) which was just the best texture. Even the sriracha on the table bottles was just FRESH... reminded me of tasting those sauces in Vietnam where some places had home made versions. I came here after work the other day when I was craving Vietnamese food. I'm Vietnamese, so I can be picky about my Vietnamese food and have yet to find a place in Glendale that I really liked. I saw this place just opened and so after a long 12 hour shift at the hospital, I came here looking for some comfort food. This place is on the smaller size, but very clean and open. For it being a weekday and just having opened, I thought that there was a good steady stream of customers. I checked in on Yelp and ordered to-go. With my Yelp check-in, there was a 5% discount, but since it there was a grand opening special for the month of 15% off, they actually gave me the 15% off instead, even on my take out order!! I had no idea about the 15% off, so I thought that was great of them, definitely a plus in my book! I believe it is a family owned business and that the person who took the orders was probably one of the owners. He was very nice and you could tell he was a hard worker, taking orders, bring food, cleaning the tables. I ordered 2 bowls of pho tai (rare steak), dry noodles with grilled pork and egg roll, and a cup of ice Vietnamese coffee. My total was $24.27. Not bad at all for 3 items and a drink! I asked if I wanted the coffee first and I said yes, so I drank it while I was waiting for my food. The coffee was really good!! I pretty much drank it all right away and it definitely woke me up for a bit! My food later came and they checked to make sure everything I ordered was correct. When I was given my food, I was asked if I parked far and if I needed help carrying stuff out. That was the first time I've been asked that! Another plus! But I managed to carry everything out. However, when I was walking to the door, the guy came and opened the door for me without me asking. Excellent service here and I hope that doesn't change! I tried the foods when I went home. The dry noodles were good and the grilled pork tasted like there was lemon grass in it also. It tasted very good and I ate the entire thing! The egg roll was good as well. For about $7, that dish filled me up quite well. I waited until by boyfriend came home to eat the pho. I loved that they were each packed in bowls because then I did not need to get one of mine to use. I also liked that the meat was packed in a separate sandwich bag because that helped the blood from getting all over the place. I thought that the serving of rare steak in the pho was a pretty generous portion. Each bowl also came with a baggie of veggies. The soup also tasted very yummy! The serving of pho filled us both up. I've tried some other pho places nearby in Glendale and I liked this one much better than the other ones I have tried. Consistently the best authentic Vietnamese food in the Burbank and Glendale area! They have really clear, flavorful broth in their pho soups, great fried egg rolls and summer rolls, and the prices are very reasonable. I have eaten here several times, and usually it's busy because the food is good! I think a lot of people confuse this place with Pho HUT (Hut not Hot) on Brand Blvd., but they're not the same and not a chain restaurant. They also offer two of the most popular Banh Mi sandwiches (Pork or Beef). I would give the sandwiches 4/5 stars (I have very high standards. The grilled pork is more of the texture of a Philly cheesesteak rather than sliced, grilled pork, but otherwise, the flavor is there for the meat. Also, slightly more Vietnamese Fresh Mayonnaise (a creamier spread) could be on the bread.) Again, very minor differences. They do not have any desserts, but who needs it when you get so much food for so little cost? The menu is just the right size for a place specializing in pho. The soup sizes are big and what is standard at most authentic places. I often find that the more expensive the menu is, the less authentic a place is. This place has the lowest prices and best tasting food -- an incredible gem that's casual and all about high quality food. The service is great, and they're always friendly. Their Thai tea is awesome. I've been spoiled growing up with a mom as a Vietnamese chef and I cook Viet food a lot as well, so it has been difficult to find places that meet my standards for authentic Vietnamese food. This place consistently delivers authentic flavor and value. You've not had authentic Vietnamese flavor until you've eaten here! TIP: At most Vietnamese restaurants, you go up to pay when you're ready. This is because they don't like to rush you and want you to enjoy the food. After reading some of the reviews, I was sold and had to try this place out PRONTO. Not to shabby. This place had it's own private lot in the front which was good because I was trying to go to another Pho place, but wasn't able to find parking and ended up finding this one instead. The food is reasonably priced, I ended up getting a house special with their Vietnamese coffee (it's the best) but I should have asked them to put only a little ice because I always forget that these places put a lot of ice. The pho itself was pretty good, it had almost the authentic broth, but it looked like the bowl overall was just missing somethings that you normally get with a bowl of pho. They have a very small space, but they utilize it somewhat well, the rows are a little tight in between the seats, so have the skinny/smaller one sit on the inside. The only thing that kind of annoyed me was that the person was hovering around ready to clean up my plate when I wasn't even done.
