Stopped by Pho Don for the first time yesterday. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food came out quickly and was hot, flavorful, and fresh. This was my first visit to this establishment. I came across them on Uber Eats and saw that they had a deal for 2 plain pho for BOGO, came to appx $14 with tax. The broth was good, maybe a little too salty but outside of that very good flavor and umami. The noodles were packaged and cooked well, and separately from the broth, as it should be! My only feedback is on the cilantro and scallions. Maybe it was a one off, but they weren't cut properly. Instead of having a few bites floating in your spoonful, the scallions were 1-2 inches long, one of them was a full 4 inches - and the cilantro wasn't cut either, it was whole stems - which made the eating process less enjoyable. Outside of that, I liked the flavor enough that I would definitely give them another try the next time I crave pho. read more

Honestly the best pho I've had in my life. I usually don't like pho but for some weird reason has a craving for it today. I got take out so I can't speak towards ambience or service but the food was phenomenal. I just for the traditional pho with grilled shrimp. Came with tons of fixings. The broth was amazing. Even though it was delivered the broth was nice and hot. If I were to be picky my ONYL flaw was there weren't enough noodles, but overall it was wonderful. Stopped in for takeout from here. Ordered two Grilled pork viet hoagies. Plenty of parking earlier in the morning around 9:30 AM. The place was nice for that part of North Philly and the owner was friendly. The hoagie aka bahn mi was flavorful, crunchy and filling. Pho Don offers Authentic style Vietnamese dishes. I usually go for the Steak and Flank Pho which is super fulfilling. I've eaten from a significant number of Pho restaurants and this place beats most. The broth definitely matters! The crispy chicken rolls are also a must try. The Vietnamese Shrimp hoagie is different but very satisfying. I like to wash my meal down with a cup of fresh pineapple juice The restaurant itself is always clean, well lit and the owners are super sweet and accommodating. They are just ok. Right behind Temple hospital and at 530-6p pretty much the only place with lights on the block. The service was fast. I ordered online and ready 15 minutes. The food: Noodles firm, not squishy. That is a plus. The shrimp egg roll vermicelli was WOW (pictured below). Lemonade ($5.50) and young coconut just ($5.50) delicious, treat yourself. However the Pho. We had chicken and shrimp. The chicken had 0 flavor. Other chicken Pho usually grilled to give something. This no flavor. The shrimp (9) were not seasoned either. Perhaps they bet on the broth to make flavor? 6/9 of the shrimp should've been cleaned better. Deveining wise. The broth was not as deep and flavorful as we hoped. Just kinda ok. A decent Vietnamese restaurant that is a welcome find in this neighborhood where diversity is somewhat lacking. It was close to my client's office and street parking was available a block away. Inside it's clean and up-to-date and the menu was easy to browse. Their spicy basket was neatly organized and ready for action. I ordered Pho Tai Nam (beef briskets and round) large and it came in a large bowl filled with a generous quantity of meat and noodles. Noodle wasn't visible because they were all on the bottom, so I had to untangle 'em a bit. This is normal in most Pho joints. The meat, while generous in portion also showed signs of pre-made preparation. Few thin slaps were stuck together in the bottom of the bowl, and some chunks were unusually thick. Had a good taste, but it could've been more uniformly sliced and prepared after-order. I would give 2 stars except the service was pretty commendable - cashier lady came to me with a spare napkin when she realized that I was using one as an apron to prevent my work shirt from the noodle splatters. Food also came out quickly and I was in-and-out within 15 minutes, no joke. While not the best it can be, this is a great place to get a quick Pho in this neighborhood. read more

Five stars !!! Surprisingly good authentic Vietnamese food in the middle of a disadvantaged neighborhood. It's not as bad as Kensington neighborhood, but I would advise go before sundown and don't go alone. Now, onto the food : Very legit pho broth, has beef bones flavor and doesn't leave that extreme thirst aftertaste like those from fake powder pho broths. The meat is a bit thick, but acceptable. I would advise them to invest in a meat slicer to get super thin slices. Also to slice the tripe thinner too. Noodles are cooked well and not too soggy or chewy. Veggies are super fresh ! The bessstttt part for me is their homemade sate chillies lemongrass sauce. Oh my my ! It gives every dish that extra layer of flavor and aroma ! I don't see this at every Viet restaurant Banh mi - bbq beef is bomb !!! Omg has to be my top 3 spots in Philly for banh mi. Love the scallions mayo. Well seasoned meat. Crispy fluffy bread. Freshly pickled daikon carrots. Great balance. Smoothies are juices are REAL fruits. I see 5 watermelons and bunch of bananas, pineapples, mangos etc on display. Prices are very reasonable, lower than at other Viet places in nicer areas. They do take credit card and has delivery service. Service was friendly, fast, and they speak English well. I hope they do well and expand locations to more commercialized neighborhoods like south Philly. Easier and safer to get to. Mushy shrimps the consistency of mashed potatoes were in my pho. I told the people about the shrimps thar worked there, they said they were probably over cooked. That is all!! Got an order here through UberEats and was disappointed. The shrimp summer roll only had noodles, rice and shrimp. Other places usually add bean sprouts or other things to give it more substance. The deluxe pho was very fatty with a thick layer of oil on the top. There were 4 pieces of meat, a slice of meatball and the hugest chunk of tendon. There was also a small hair intertwined in the tendon. The broth was salty too. It would be better if they didn't combine the hoisin and sriracha in the same sauce container. I was also surprised to see the meat cooked in the same container as the broth. I thought the beef would be raw and separated. read more
