    Bun bo

I was hoping that their bò lá lốt would be great since I haven't had it for a while but I just don't like their seasoning. Bún bò is okay, a little sweet. Spacious restaurant, not too hard to find street parking.

We were the only folks there so service was quick. We got - large beef pho - spring rolls (these are not pictured. They were very good and larger than we were expecting) - grilled shrimp sliders - crispy crepe - small beef pho It was a lot of food. More than we were expecting. We ended up taking leftovers home. The spring roles and sliders were my favorites

My friend and I came here on a whim for dinner one night and had a great meal. It wasn't very busy, so service was quick and attentive. We started out by splitting a bao bun with crispy tofu, carrots, scallion, cucumber, and hoisin sauce. The bao was nice and fluffy, but not the best I've ever had. For my main entree, I got the Bun Dau Hu Cha Gio Chay (vermicelli dish) with crispy tofu, a veggie roll, lettuce, cucumbers, bean sprouts, and peanuts. It was really yummy and refreshing on a warm summer night. Overall we had a solid dinner and I'd return, probably in the fall or winter for a cozy, warm dish!

stopped by on christmas eve for a quick lunch. classy, modern pho spot with beautiful booths and plenty of seating! we were the only table at the restaurant, service was quick and attentive. our water cups were never empty, we felt very well taken care of. although the dishes were not cheap, the portions were on the larger side. pho house special was delicious and filling, the meat was generous which makes the price worth it. they definitely didn't skimp on the goodies! summer rolls tasted fresh, everything was done well! only thing i didn't like was the thai iced tea. the thai iced tea lacked body, it tasted watery in texture but too sweet in taste. overall, this is a solid pho spot in philly, ideal for a cold day!

Love the Bun Bo Hue. Great portions and the food always tastes fresh. It could be a little spicier for my taste but you can order chili oil. The packaging is always nice and I never have any spillage. They give you plenty of toppings as well. It has become a go to for me.

I live so close to Le Viet, it's really a shame this was my first time visiting! We easily made reservations on a weekday, but we also could have walked in and got a table without issue. The space is quite large, so very convenient for a big group or get together. It's simply decorated with modern touches and greenery, but did feel somewhat empty. The menu is generous, with tons of options, including plenty of vegetarian selections too. Based on reviews and highlights, I went for the Bun Dau Hu Cha Gio Chay, a vermicelli bowl with tofu, a veggie spring roll, peanuts, bean sprouts, and other veggies. It was a large dish with so many goodies in it! I should have added more sauce myself to enhance the flavors and give it more oompf, but overall, it was solid. They had so many other classes of dishes, including "clay pot" dishes which I was super intrigued by. I didn't expect them to have an extensive cocktail list, but I was pleased to see it! I went for a cucumber cocktail, which was refreshing and paired well with my dish. Service took a little bit of time given how seemingly non-busy it was, and getting the check took a bit too. But, my friend and I were enjoying each other's company and catching up, so it wasn't a big deal at all. The server was super kind and helpful, which also made a difference! The price of the meal was incredibly reasonable for the size and quality. I would definitely revisit Le Viet with a larger group if needing somewhere convenient to eat, and I would also explore take out from them since they are so close to home and with such a large menu. Thanks for being a convenient and delicious option, Le Viet!

Tried this out recently and really enjoyed it! Lychee martini was so good and very much could taste the lychee. I opted for these crunchy noodles in my dish, which wasn't something i had before but found very tasty. Cherry on top for me is always the vegetarian accommodation. When i told her i was vegetarian, she made sure to tell me she would exclude fish sauce from the dish and bring me extra soy sauce/siraccha. We made reservations but maybe okay without on a weekday evening at least. Place was huge, good for a bigger crowd as well.

Great food and service! This is a hidden gem in Philly! The portions are huge and prices are very reasonable.

    Bánh xèo(Vietnamese pancake with shrimps)

I wanted to tried this restaurant for quite a while because I wanted the Vietnamese crab noodles soup and not too many places offer it yet it didn't disappoint me in here! Bún riêu cua is served with tomato broth and topped with freshwater crab. A very popular option among younger Vietnamese people. I also had the Bánh xèo which is the Vietnamese pancake/omelette with crispy wrapping and inside there are some bean sprouts, shrimps, pork and other vegetables. The interior of the restaurant is very clean and they also have alcohol service if you want. Servers are polite and can speak proper English, unlike some restaurants in the Viet town. The price is average but the restaurant looks fancy, and the proportion of the food is very generous.

    Seasonal stir fried mixed vegetables

After passing this place since it opened years ago I finally decided to go and try it with my family. As other reviewers have mentioned the interior is definitely more modern and upscale looking than other Vietnamese restaurants along Washington Avenue. We went there around 2pm on a Saturday and there were only about 3 tables filled. There was only 1 worker serving the tables. He was really friendly, helpful, and efficient. My husband ordered grilled pork with broken rice, and my daughter ordered grilled pork with vermicelli (they said it was good, and pretty much the same as other Vietnamese restaurants), and I ordered claypot pork slices with caramelized onions in a traditional sauce. The clay pot dish was kind of small, and pretty salty. If it had less salt it would have tasted pretty awesome. We also ordered seasonal stir fried vegetables which was disappointing. Their seasonal veggies included bok choy, broccoli, carrots slices, mushrooms, and celery (I think). It definitely was not stir fried, rather, it was in a cornstarch sauce and the veggies were not crispy at all, and very salty. We also shared banh xeo (crispy crepe filled with veggies and shrimp), and this was delicious. If this review was based on the food we ate only I would give it a 3 star, but the server deserves a star! Maybe I should try other entrees here, but most likely I will stick to other Vietnamese restaurants I have been frequenting for years.

The biggest surprise was the tái (eye-round steak), yet still retaining that pleasantly chewy texture of undercooked beef; the gầu (fat brisket) was thick and crisp, fragrant but not greasy--who would have thought I'd find brisket fat here? This showed the restaurant's precise control over the broth temperature and the thickness of the beef. Almost all phở restaurants claim to offer authentic raw beef or various cuts of beef, but very few can truly make customers feel the difference. The restaurant's decor is simple but spacious and clean; the service is average, but very efficient. Efficiency is essential for phở, otherwise the beef would be overcooked in the hot broth. After all, the essence of a restaurant is food, and for such affordable ones, it's gratifying to see them spend most of their costs on the food itself.

They have great meats. Their hearty Buns will blow your mind: as noted, the House Special is practically enough for two people. You'll also see many people eating the Prime Rib Pho which is quite different. to me it looks a bit unwieldly (much prefer meats cut into the broth). Their Bún Riêu, Duck Soup (served with a unique ginger sauce and bamboo shoots) and Bún bò Huế all hit the mark. Pho Today gives you two choices for the classic Fish In Pottery Pot, bone-off and bone-on. Many Vietnamese restaurants don't carry this anymore. One thing I should tell y'all is that, when you order your meal, ask for the homemade chilli oil.....they won't give it to you unless you ask: it's made with garlic and is really special. If I were to nitpick I'd suggest upping the ante on the spring rolls which are more of a footnote here. I much prefer the larger spring rolls, cut into 4 sections served with basil, veggies and lettuce for wrapping. But, yea, this place does a really good job and seems to be the go-to for both Vietnamese food and serious eaters.
