Pho Today is an enormous restaurant which does authentic Vietnamese very well. I honestly believe their broth is better than Pho '75 across the street which seemed rather sweet to me. They have great meats. Their hearty Buns will blow your mind: as noted, the House Special is practically enough for two people. You'll also see many people eating the Prime Rib Pho which is quite different. to me it looks a bit unwieldly (much prefer meats cut into the broth). Their Bún Riêu, Duck Soup (served with a unique ginger sauce and bamboo shoots) and Bún bò Huế all hit the mark. Pho Today gives you two choices for the classic Fish In Pottery Pot, bone-off and bone-on. Many Vietnamese restaurants don't carry this anymore. One thing I should tell y'all is that, when you order your meal, ask for the homemade chilli oil.....they won't give it to you unless you ask: it's made with garlic and is really special. If I were to nitpick I'd suggest upping the ante on the spring rolls which are more of a footnote here. I much prefer the larger spring rolls, cut into 4 sections served with basil, veggies and lettuce for wrapping. I've only had Pho a half a dozen times - I recently went to Pho Today with family, who go there regularly. They said it was one of the best in Philly. I agree. We started with the Pork Spring rolls - I placed them in the lettuce and carrots, poured a little Duck Sauce over them, and enjoyed a very tasty appetizer. We all got the Pho Filet Mignon - the meat was lean and tender. The broth was delicious, and perfectly seasoned. I added a big bunch of basil that comes on the side, and the dish was amazing. Guys the portions are so big! I am usually a person who prefers a smaller plate but recently I've been grateful for foods that are a bang for your buck. This was just that. I enjoyed my pho! TL;DR - Excellent Vietnamese food at reasonable prices, all while dining in a spacious and modern designed interior. The summer of 2025 has resulted in several trips to Philly; which isn't a bad thing. As a native New Yorker, it pains me to say this, but I might actually "enjoy" traveling to this city MORE, since driving and parking are easier and the food is on par, if not in some cases, BETTER than what I find in NYC. During this most recent trip, we decided to pop into Pho Today, since one member of our group previously dined at and suggested this place. Upon entry, there is a take-out counter for drinks (boba, milk tea, etc.), desserts, and banh mi sandwiches. Follow the directional signs, and once you walk in, wait to be seated. The dining area is HUGE and well appointed. The windows towards the back, illuminate the room with lots of natural lighting. I would try and avoid the center seating, since those areas can get loud, and opt for one of the tables along the side wall. Water glasses and menus arrived shortly upon sitting. There were a few dishes ordered, but one of the dishes I always get at a new Viet restaurant to me is some version of rice vermicelli and lemongrass grilled pork . At Pho Today, I decided to make it "fancy" and get their number 1 Bún Đặc Biệt "Today". Special grilled pork, grilled shrimp, grilled beef, spring roll comes a top rice vermicelli. It get served with a side of veggies, limes, chili sauce, and of course, the house nuoc mam (aka, the dipping fish sauce). First off, the bowl is ginormous, Secondly, for $17, it's a steal since an equivalent order in the DC area would be at least $20, and in NYC close to $25. And lastly, did the dish taste good? No...it tasted amazing! All of the meats were marinated and grilled to provide both smoky notes as well as the right amount of char without being burnt. Unlike some places, there was more protein than noodles in the bowl. And I especially appreciate that the nuoc mam was not overly sweet. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their dishes, which ranged from steaming bowls of Bún Bò Huế to heaping plates Cơm Bò Lúc Lắc. Service was also superior. Staff were constantly checking in on the table to fill water glasses and provide extra napkins as needed. My friend and I came here for lunch on a Saturday and had a great experience. We ordered some tofu summer rolls to start which came with a yummy peanut dipping sauce. I ordered the Pho Chay (vegetarian noodle soup). I was amazed at the portion - I couldn't even fit all my leftovers into the container they gave me! The broth was super tasty, and there was a generous portion of all the veggies. I only wish there had been a bit more tofu. For a place that's in the same plaza as several reputable pho places, Pho Today sets itself apart by being the only place that offers diverse vegetarian options AND a pho with a jumbo hunk of meat (Pho Today's short ribs) all on the same menu. Price here a bit steep, but their pho is pretty solid. Our table had pork and shrimp papaya salad, stir-fried tofu and veggies, Pho Filet Mignon, Pho Today, Che Thai, and avocado smoothies. Of the food dishes, the best was Pho Filet Mignon. Papaya salad wasn't exactly what I expected since the papaya slices were a bit too chunky for my liking. Flavor-wise, it wasn't bad but I've had better. Both pho dishes had tasty broth and a good amount of vermicelli noodles, but Pho Filet Mignon was a better bang for the buck overall since Pho Today had less meat and the meat balls were a bit tough. Ambience-wise, Pho Today's the only pho place in the plaza that's more suitable for hosting out-of-town guests who expected accommodations beyond the basics. Great Vietnamese food in the Philly area. Friendly staff are helpful and will help give you direction around the menu if you're not familiar. Location is big and a great location for groups. It's not too loud. The only downside is it's in a busy shopping center with our busy Asian restaurants and stores, so parking can be tough in busy times. All the food was authentic and delicious. My new favorite Vietnamese spot! I've tried a ton of dishes and have never been disappointed. Their bun bo hue is delicious and you can ask for extra sate to give it more spice. Love that it's served with the pork blood cubes and pork hock. The 3 meat platter was also a big hit with my table. All dishes are loaded with meat and they provide a ton of herbs for accompaniment. I was a bit skeptical as well coming here because of Pho today in New Jersey. It wasn't a nice restaurant but this one was so much better than New Jersey. The place had a good amount of seating and it was sort open where you can see the whole restaurant. The only thing for me was the parking lot was kind of tight just like the rest of Philly. I ordered the beef banh hoi and the portions was good. I finished the whole dish because either I was hungry or it was delicious. The bathroom was by far the cleanest I've ever encountered in a restaurant! We ordered two grilled pork chop platters, one with an egg quiche and the other without, along with a shrimp and pork lotus root salad. Upon a friend's recommendation, we headed to Phở Today at the 11th and Washington plaza. Overall, it was a good experience: dining space is new and large large, with banquette seating down the sides and center with tables and chairs opposite each row. Unlike other phở spots, the server coursed our meal, so we received the Bánh Xèo (Vietnamese pancake with shrimp and pork) and Café Sữa Đá (iced coffee with milk) first and then our orders of Bún Bò Huế and specialty Phở Suon Cay (large rib in the bowl and a side bowl of the extra xí Quach). Everything was tasty with good portion sizes: the Bún Bò Huế broth was especially flavorful and a nice spice level without any additions. We don't usually order such a large appetizer, so I actually wound up with leftover Bún Bò Huế, which I put into a container and revived with fresh noodles the next day. Pho Today is a spacious restaurant conveniently located in a shopping plaza with a grocery store & nearby other ones. Relatively clean. They were busy when we went on a weekday evening but we got seated quickly. Food also came out in less 10 minutes. I always get the build your own pho where you can pick 3 toppings (fat brisket, tendon, tripe is what I always get!). The broth is super flavorful and rich. They always have a lot of meat. I do wish the tendon was a more cooked so it was softer and more melt in the mouth. They're also super generous with the amount of herbs and bean sprouts that are brought it. We randomly stumbled upon the newly opened Pho Today a couple of months back, and it's where we've been going to satisfy our Pho and Bun Bo Hue cravings now. We always order for takeout, and they pack everything very neatly. The garnish is fresh and not stale. The portions are fair with not too much noodles. The broth in the Bun Bo Hue is flavorful and spicy. Right now, I really like their Bun Bo Hue more than their neighboring Vietnamese restaurants. As for the Pho, I thought it was okay. I'm not a big fan of Pho. The only Pho that I like is from a restaurant up in Montgomery County. Anyway, my husband seemed to enjoy Pho Today's Pho, though. Also, their spring rolls are super thicc, definitely one of the fattest rolls I've seen. They don't premix the crushed peanuts in the peanut sauce. They pack the crushed peanuts separately so you can mix it on your own when you get home.
