A friend suggested we have lunch here. WOW. Food was awesome. If you're new to this kind of food, I suggest getting the Pad Tai - which is delightful. I don't care for spring rolls, but the ones here are full of meat and are wonderful. I had to get some to go. After speaking with the owner, I got the story of the place. The owner is a chef and chemist! Since cooking is a form of chemistry, it makes sense. She and her sister are trying to get the place going. The sister is not actually a trained waitress, and is helping her sister when the regular waitress is off. She's a super nice lady, and I admire that she's helping. So I have to cut her some slack - this is not her primary job. So don't expect speed - but I don't care, because the food is so good. If you want speed, call ahead. Since everything is cooked to order, and such a tiny crew, it is not reasonable to expect speed. If I lived in Bossier, I'd be a regular. But it will be on my list to visit when I'm in town. This is seriously good food, and if they had just a bit more business, they could hire an additional person and that would resolve the service issues. If you like good Tai food, give this place a try. If you like it, tell two people. I really am a fan of this place and hope they prosper. It is close to the intersection of Shed Road and Benton Road. If you are looking for authentic Laos food, I highly recommend. Food is amazing! Owner, Ms. Thel, is super kind and cooks food to order. So please be patient because the wait is worth it. 2 stars for fastness and good service. papaya salad (extra hot) - Wasn't what I was used to at all. No flavor, maybe they only used salt and lime. (Don't know) but that's what it seemed like to me. I have been catering for over 8 years and I would never deliver a customer a sandwhich baggy full of rice, that cost $6!!!!! No one should be okay being served like this!!! I asked if this was all of my order(I was polite) was looked at as if, I lost my mind. Come to find out, items were missing from My order. I was so excited to find a Thai & Loas restaurant. Wondering if this restaurant is under different management. Last time I went in the staff was not friendly. Someone's child was there watching the TV which was turned up LOUD and on a rather inappropriate show. Gaboon was so disappointing, almost flavorless and the chicken had a really odd texture and was not white meat but this kind of processed meat. Not good. The panang curry is delicious !! I like the garden spring rolls but they need more practice two of them were broken but still really tasty. The papaya salad-som tem was different from what I'm used to but really hot like I like it and tasted good. I like there spring egg rolls too! I probably won't get their pad Thai again it was just ok I think I make a better pad Thai but I'm also half Thai lol. read more

I ordered a Vietnamese coffee that was served up as brown water. I thought the grounds seeped through the sieve. Nope. Charged $5.45. My udon took 35 min to serve up (only one in there). Do you even salt, bro? I hate giving bad reviews to small business. Especially when it looks like they need more business. But alas, here we go- The husband picked this place out. Not bad interior. It looked clean. The lady in the front was pleasant, however she was quiet and hard to hear. We were the only people in the restaurant. We had a few questions about the menu (what time the lunch specials were over and could the drunken noodles be made not spicy, for example). Each time she had to run back and check. My husband was scared to ask about the special that day, and when he did, she sighed because she had to ask. The crab Rangoon appeared homemade and was tasty. Our Thai iced teas were yummy. They only had bottled sodas, so no refills here. Plenty of water, however, and the lady was great about keeping them filled. Our dishes were brought out one at a time. That's good because you know the food wasn't sitting under a heat lamp while everyone's food finished cooking. But there was only one person cooking and the last dish took quite a bit longer than the rest. I ordered the drunken noodles. It was very watery. The lady brought it out and her thumb was in the watery liquid. I just couldn't say anything. About 20 years ago I had a customer scream at me in a crowded restaurant because she said my finger touched her ice cream (it did not) as I scooped it. It was awful and embarrassing and I end up sobbing in the back. So I just sucked it up. I should speak up, I know. Anyway. No egg in the noodles and no meat. The few veggies (Bok Choy and three slivers of baby corn) were tasty. A few of the noodles were hard and I hurt my tooth on one. And holy salt, Batman! Way too much salt. I ran into the restroom before leaving and discovered the thinnest toilet paper on the planet. Also- the paper towel dispenser was out of paper and so they left a roll of regular paper towel. That's not very sanitary with everyone grabbing the roll. I also noticed the floor was torn up in the back. Not a huge deal, but it did hurt my impression of the place. I have to agree with the review that stated the spring rolls were frozen...mine were too. The peanut sauce was just as bad... The pho was just ok but I've tried several different dishes and it didn't really impress me. The ingredients that put together a dish were lacking the attention...for example the yellow curry with chicken, the only other ingredient that was added was potatoes and that was not cooked correctly. Save your money and your time. Took 40 minutes to get a simple meal to the table. Floors were sticky and the kitchen area really should be doored or curtained off (looks very unsanitary). The only good thing I had here were the egg rolls which came in two, not just a single egg roll and they were huge. Half way through our meal some lady came out the kitchen with a bowl and sat down at a table to change the tv and just started watching like she was at home in her living room. She asked the only waiter there (our waiter) if he was watching it, he said no but I was watching it. When it comes to the food it was not only bland but reminded me of medicine. This is my go-to lunch place. The décor is somewhat challenging to understand and there isn't a lot going on in the way of atmosphere, but the food more than makes up for that. Every time I come, I order papaya salad as an appetizer (although I prefer mine without the dried shrimps, as I don't enjoy too much of a fishy flavor). I've also come to discover her Panang, a coconut curry dish that warms my soul. In addition I enjoy her pho, spring rolls, pork rolls, drunken noodles, and laab. Occasionally she can be a little inconsistent as she tweaks some menu items, but all in all, it's a great place for lunch and dinner. read more

It was FRESH, it appeared wholesome, and after I seasoned it heavily at the table, Phad Thai was good.
