Although this place is a little older, it carries most of the Asian basics &staples. Wish they carried more "fresh" ingredients (vegetables, fruits, etc), but still a good selection. Love the snacks for my toddler &the cashier that day (wish I caught her name) was so friendly! The Vincent General Asian Store is located in Bossier City outside of Barksdale AFB in Shreveport, LA. Wow! So much Asian, Filipino, Korean, Thai, Chinese, Micronesian, Japanese options to choose from. 2 aisles of different well stocked Ramen, Udon, Pho, Laksa, Somen noodles....couldn't decide ;) Multiple fridges and freezers of fresh vegetables, fruits, produce, and proteins. Manong Tomas, Banana Ketchup, 3 Crab Fish Sauce, Spiced Vinegar, Shoyu, and all other different sauces too! Aunty at the register is the owner, she is very helpful and knowledgeable of her store and products. They also have a small takeout restaurant and seating area within the store. Enjoyed the Chicken Karekare with Sticky white rice. Will definitely be back to stock up on snacks, ramen bowls, treats, and a large cooler with ice. read more

A welcomed Asian market. This store has about everything you need for Asian groceries that are hard to come by. This market has a far greater selection then the other markets around the area. They are also cleaner. If you live near the base its just out of the north gate. It also has a Vietnamese restaurant in it. I don't give 5 easily but this place is great. The food and the portions are awesome. Everything tastes authentic and is cooked very quickly. I have t had ANYTHING that I didn't like. I hate bubble tea and even that was good! Be careful when ordering because the portions are enormous. The owner/chef and his wife are very nice people. The restaurant area is very small but still comfortable. The store inside has all of your Asian cooking needs as well. This place has become a lunchtime staple for my friends and me. read more

As a girl who is from CA, I say this is one of the best Phos I've had living in the south so far! It was super flavorful and reminded me of home. I got the Pho Ga (chicken pho) and it was so good. We also got the beef ribs with eggs and that was also delicious!!! The pork spring roll is also a favorite and a must for us. The owners are super sweet and welcoming! Very disappointed. Ordered 3 pork vermicelli bowls and a pork rice plate. Pork rice plate came out like 15 minutes before the bowls and when they finally came out like 30 minutes later they were literally a pile of noodles with thin dried out slices of pork from the BBQ Pit with a handful of bean sprouts on the side. Not ASIAN at all. Does not look anything like the pics on here. Wish I had taken a picture but we sent it straight back. The only reason I give 2 stars is because they were very friendly. Like this place. The only place I can get frozen tteokbokki (rice cakes). There are a good selection of Korean items and they have the best ramen selection I've seen around here. Way cleaner than the other Asian market across the river. Good selection of noodles and mandu in the fridge/freezer section. Whole lots of other stuff that I've never seen before. Vegetables you can't get anywhere else as well. I can get all the ingredients for the Korean dishes I make like the rice cakes, noodles, gochujang and gochugaru, etc. read more

Love the pho here! Whenever I have an itch for pho, this is where I go. They are quick, have great portions, good prices and give a complimentary bottle of water. I've shopped the store items, and while it's a little messy, they are installing more coolers and looking like they are trying to have more Asian ingredients available, which is a huge plus for those hard to find items. read more

This place had some pretty good soup for a little hole in the wall place. I had the spicy beef soup and my buddy had the chicken pho, we were both surprised at the amount of soup you get for $8. I arrived at Vincent General at 6:58 PM the store is in the business district in a nondescript building, there were no cars in front at that hour the street is empty and dark. As I pulled up I considered going somewhere more appealing, but decided to head on in as I had some friends that were in route. I entered the store and there were two gents behind the counter the tables were empty. I sat down at the counter and explained I was waiting for friends to arrive. When they showed up my friends ordered the chicken Pho and I ordered the Pork vermicelli two of us ordered chicken spring rolls. The one man is running a BBQ restaurant and the other is of course the head of the Vietnamese restaurant. The gents have a fusion of bbq and Vietnamese going on and it was out of this world fantastic. The bbq chicken and pork sent a very good plate of food and a bowl of soup over the top. These guys have it going on; get out there before they figure out they are undercharging for some of the best east meets west fusion ever. The store closes at 7PM but these guys were willing to serve us without a fuss. Great guys...Great food. read more

Went there about a couple weeks ago. They don't serve food at the moment because they have to wait until their hoods came in. Some of the stuff at the store was what you could find at the large Kroger on Airline (taro root, napa cabbage, etc...), except Kroger is cheaper. There were hardly any vegetables and hardly anything in the freezer. Don't expect a large selection or cheap prices like you would find at asian markets in Plano or Dallas. For example, my favorite fish sauce which has the 3 crabs on it wasn't there. They had the generic okay one with the squid on it. I'll probably try out their food one day, but will be shopping at other asian stores for groceries. read more
