It gives you a different food to eat if you are staying at the casino/hotel. Flavor was good but didn't taste like a the traditional pho were use to at other places. As others say, the broth is a bit dark and not what we're used too. Way too expensive which is why we gave three stars. read more

On a layover on the road we stayed at the Horseshoe in Bossier City. We had a food credit on our players card and put it to work at Jasmine's Noodle Bar. Pretty full Vietnamese menu and the place is fairly clean, though it's in a casino and so the crowds seem to come in waves. We were there on a Friday night before heading back home to Dallas the next morning. Price is pretty hefty at $23 for a bowl of pho, beef. Though it's a big bowl I just can't imagine the cost of beef and noodles in a soup would be that much. Again, we got a food credit so I didn't have to pay for it and left a $5 tip in their jar to say thanks. You order and pay first and then you can go sit down and wait until they call your name. Definitely had the faint whispers of that soulful soup that some pho places have, but to me a little overdone with scallions and white onions. Portion was pretty good, but the meat was a tad bit rubbery. They did have tripe which I absolutely love as well as the tendons so again it's ok to eat here, especially if it's on a food credit from gambling....where you probably spent more than the cost of the soup just to get the soup free....LOL read more

I was really disappointed with my experience at this Japanese restaurant. I ordered expecting authentic Japanese food, but when I got my meal back to my room, I found a fly mixed in with my food. This shows a lack of care in the kitchen and raises questions about how the food is being handled. When I pay for ramen, I expect it to actually reflect the quality and authenticity of that cuisine, not something that looks like it got mixed in from another order. Small quick service restaurant in Horseshoe Casino. Staff is friendly and the food was made quickly. My wife and I tried the Banh Mi. She got the chicken and I got the beef. Both were fresh and full of flavor. Both meats were tender. We also got some Vietnamese coffee which is really sweet. We saw several people get the Pho and the noodle salad while we were there and the portions were quite generous. Definitely a tasty spot. Will come again if I'm in the area. read more

This place was a dining place when I went to play at Horseshoe and the one of the restaurant that offered comps at a 1:1 which was nice. However, this place is definitely overpriced as banh mi sandwich was around 13 dollars for the beef which is usually half the price at other places and soup is around $20 to $25 dollars. So definitely a lot of money for what you get which is the downside. I ordered the Jasmine tea which is around $7 dollars and comes in a small cup. Now for the food seating, not much to sit as I sat on the bar as the only option. The sandwich is very good though, but the tea as alright. If I did not have the comps, I would have not even eaten here to be honest. wait was not too long as I waited 10 minutes for my food. If you have comps, I would say go ahead and eat here. read more

This is a very good noodle bar. I eat at a lot of noodle bars in casinos and this one is definitely toward the top. The cucumbers are especially good. So is the lemongrass chicken (with vegetables, all of which are crispy). The chicken skewers were better the first time than the second time, and the beef skewers were good the first and last time, which was only one time. I don't know the names of the staff, but the regular lady (thinner Asian lady) was excellent. The backup (a little heavier Asian lady) was not good. I had no water for 15 minutes and she was really bad at keeping up with what was going on. Just telling it like it is. There was a big debate about the short ribs. A few of my friends (one being a local) thought the short ribs were the best dish in the house. Three others told me not to get the short ribs. And then another person told me the short ribs were amazing. I haven't had the short ribs yet, but I wanted you to know about the short rib debate. Despite mixed service, a lackluster second serving of chicken skewers, and a short rib debate, the lemongrass chicken, quality service from the main server, and skewers (aside from the last time) were all excellent. I usually have them - the Shrimp PHO every time I stay at the horseshoe and it has been spectacular. Usually I order around dinner time or late snack. I went recently with some friends from out of town and was shocked by the TOTAL difference in the meal. The shrimp were not fresh or the normal looking shrimp that usually comes. It was a different breed. The veggies were not as good and we were given one plate of veggies as if we had to all split one plate. I was shocked and disappointed.. I don't know if they changed distribution or what.. I will have to give them some time before I go back. read more

Customer service was blah... I was happy we received honest feedback that the Pho was not that good but a follow up recommendation was lack luster in approach, as well. Tried the Vietnamese Coffee and spring rolls to see if it we could salvage anything and it was a double loss. The Vietnamese Coffee was not the traditional slow drip and just tasted overly sweet. The spring rolls had a good texture but no flavor. No flavors in the noodles or the proteins but also no fresh herbs to redeem the flavorless noodles. The peanut sauce was overly sweet, but I added some Siracha and it was perfect. If you're ever here just turn around and see Antonio at Bazaar, it's very worth it. read more

Came in last night with my boyfriend on the hunt for Pho, i ended up getting Chicken Noodle Soup (V4) which was seriously delicious. Was exactly what i was craving, this place is super expensive though as our meal was about $45 for just two bowls of Pho. So keep that in mind when planning to grab a bite, no complaints at all. Cashier was not too friendly and we had to wait on him to order. We had pork bbq combination egg noodle soup, split in 2. Our bill was $18 with some change, which is why it fell short of 5/5 stars. They were short handed when I arrived. They were not doing the mobile ordering due to staff shortage. The line was long and the person at register was multitasking. She was awesome; she kept smiling, was courteous and did the best she could. The wait was worth it! We ordered the beef ribs and the beef skewers: both perfectly seasoned, great flavor. Everytime I come to Shreveport all I want to eat is the beef noodle salad. Price is kind of high but you do get a huge bowl of noodle salad. Enough you can't finish it all. Great flavor. Last Sunday, Memorial Day weekend, around 7:30pm I ordered food-to-go at this restaurant. My 1st time there so I ordered a dish that I am familiar with. I ordered Yeung Chau Fried Rice which cost $15.99 plus tax. I paid for the order & waited on the side for the food. About 15 min later, I noticed an old white American lady (not dressed in uniform) was sorting out the To-go orders, and was ready to hand out the To-Go food to the customers. After she handed out a few orders, she came across a single dish order, it was a Fried Rice dish. She looked at the dish with some doubts, she was hesitated to put it in a plastic bag and handed it to the customer. Then she decided to ask one of the cooks about the order. After the exchange with the cook, judged by her reaction she was still not sure what to do with the order. Finally she made a decision. She put the Fried Rice dish into a bag & called my name. Oh...then I realized...that was my order. I was happy to get the food, then I made my way back to the hotel & ready to enjoy the meal. I was hoping the fried rice I ordered would surprise me in taste, but no...it was a surprise but not in taste. It was a completely different dish. It was a Chicken Fired Rice dish instead of Yeung Chau Fried Rice I ordered. Yeung Chau Fried Rice comes with Chinese sausage, pork & shrimp. But Chicken Fried Rice which costs $2 less comes with just...chicken. Then...finally...I realized why the lady was so hesitated to hand out that order, it was simply because it was the wrong dish! The lady knew all along that was the wrong dish, yet she still decided to hand out the dish to the customer, it is called...dishonesty! She thought that by the time the customer found out about it, it was too late or too far to go back to do the exchange. If this restaurant can cheat the customers with this, they can cheat the customers with expired ingredients, spoiled food and other dirty stuffs. In a word, DISHONESTY !!! read more

This is a very small eating space inside the Horseshoe casino just past the front doors. There are maybe 5 tables and 5 bar stools if you want to eat at the counter. Because it's in such a high visibility public walk area, I decided to get my traditional pho noodles order to go and eat it in my room in front of the tv. As the previous reviewer noted, this place isnt cheap compared to other pho places but it is inside expensive real estate if that is a usable excuse. Expect to pay double the going rate for eating at a Harrahs property rather than venturing out to Bossier or Shreveport. My meals are comped at this casino so I can't complain on the price aspect. Mistake number one was they forgot the soup base with my order. So I had to venture out of my tower room back downstairs to get it. Mistake number two was that the noodles were pre-cooked and cold. There is no way it would heat up and soften enough in the room temp broth they gave me. I tried the best I could but ended up leaving most of the meal outside my room's front door and called it a night. read more

I was staying at the Horseshoe and did not feel like leaving so I decided to try this place out For an appetizer I ordered the spring rolls. They tasted fresh but a bit on the chewy side. They were pretty big so sharing would be wise. The sauce that came with it was good and I did enjoy these spring rolls. I also ordered the combination salad. The salad was good but the beef in it was not sliced through so when you picked up a piece the hole thing came with it. Beef was not great but the chicken and shrimp were good. Plenty of fresh veggies and rice noodles. Overall a good experience and worth not having to leave the property. I would eat here again. read more

Expensive as hell! $15 for a bowl of pho or hu tiu? Don't even have egg noodles and the right noodles for hu tiu. Pho noodles should never be used for hu tiu. The right noodles is clear or big rice noodles (fettuccine size.) Anyway, we sat down at one empty table that has not been thoroughly cleaned and waited a little while. Seems only 2 people doing service. They saw us but not one of them came to take our orders. We sat and wait and waited. Then we see the old man (Daniel) walk out and talked to a couple who just came looking at the menu even though we have been sitting inside waiting for someone to service us. Finally after taking good special care of those people, Daniel finally came to our table. We ordered spring rolls, 1 egg noodle soup and 1 special pho. Daniel took our orders in and then came out telling us our order is $40.30 meaning for us to pay b4 he even brings out the utensils. Daniel informed us no egg noodles available so we order another special pho bowl. They brought out pho and then our spring roll appetizer. I told the server that spring rolls should be made and brought out first, then pho entres. Anyway, missing ingredients from the vegetable that goes with pho such as lime, fresh basil leaves, and slices of jalapeno peppers. They have a piece of green leaf lettuce on the plate of bean sprouts and cilantro. Lettuce do not go with pho. $7 for 4 small cheaply made and not good tasting spring rolls. There should be five ingredients inn spring rolls. Rice paper, shrimp, pork, rice noodles and fresh basil leaves. They should not be cheaply made with shredded iceberg lettuce, rice noodles and tiny pieces of pork and shrimp. Dipping sauce also missing flavors. Whoever they hired to cook, they don't know any concept of how to cook vietnamese pho and hu tiu. Service sucked, food sucked, and expensive as hell! We were comped the food and saw all the people eating comped too. No one in their right minds would pay $ to eat here. Don't see how this place could bring any profit to Horseshoe when only people comped eat there. Need to lower price down to half, hire cooks that can cook authentic Vietnamese food and train service staff how to serve or else, don't see them staying open much longer. read more
