Great experience cheaper and better quality food than comparable restaurants in bossier!

For anyone that isn't aware that Ichiban in Bossier has new owners, they do. They are the family that owned the former Jabez and Jabes. The food is so good! This is my meal from last night. This is filet mignon cooked medium rare and it was AMAZING! Just like always! I switch out the vegetable mix for just broccoli and I omit the onions from the fried rice. They never have any problems with customizing my order like this. I wish I had taken pictures of other meals but I didn't think to. If you eat sushi then definitely give them a try because everyone that I know that eats sushi loves theirs. They also have a private area for parties and such which would be great for upcoming Christmas parties and get togethers. Give them a try and support local! read more

Nope. I heeded the warning of "good food, bad service" and decided to order some rolls to go. Never again. The service is an issue even in this regard, my order was noted as ready (used Waitr) just to wait another 20 minutes while servers seemingly confused as to who was handling what. Finally I asked and the order was "found" and had been ready for some time. Waitress even made the comment "damn waitr is a headache, we shouldn't use it". While I waited I got to look around and was growing ever more concerned about my food. The place is dismal. Seems only one half of the dining room is used, the other being storage for whatever it was before it was Ichiban, pressure washers, boxes etc etc. The place is dirty, not from lack of daily but gross neglect over a period of time. Half the lights work, lighting in general is spotty, dust clinging to everything. The two rolls I ordered were upsetting. The boom boom with some sort of salad (didn't dare try it) and hardly any ingredients that support its price but was spicy, and not of what you would expect, but obnoxiously so with spice coming from a source I couldn't quite pinpoint. The beauty and the beast roll should have been just called the beast roll. Fish was laughably unfresh, tuna devoid of all color, eel overcooked , old and slimy. I cannot imagine the financial struggle this business is in, and honestly if it were not being for its location in the mall would likely have gone under some time ago. A complete remodel, refresh etc etc is what is needed , but this will be my last time trying here. read more

Everyone hates on this restaurant for random things , but this is a reliable option for Asian food in Shreveport. The chicken and beef always come out tender and extremely flavorful. I always get the bonzai and have enough for 2 meals. I've only taken to go, but my order has been right, been fresh and tasty every time. Every person is friendly when I come in and always asks if I need any extra sauce/utensils. I can't speak for their sushi, but I stick to their hibachi option every time and have been satisfied. Sure, this isn't the best restaurant I've ever tried, but I would take this over the other the other less than exciting options in Shreveport. read more

Ichiban was located on the outside of a shopping mall. There were a handful of people eating here but it wasn't busy around 8:30pm. There were a lot of choices on the menu and it was tempting to order multiple things. I ended up ordering the Hibachi Steak Plate ($11.95). My coworker ordered the Spicy Udon. Both of our orders came with a salad and miso soup. The salad was nothing special and the miso soup tasted like what miso soup should taste like. The Hibachi Steak Plate was pretty good and the portion was a lot. I definitely got my money's worth. The Spicy Udon was really spicy since my coworker kept drinking water. lol The staff here was friendly and nice. I thought this was good place for some Japanese food. read more

I'm giving this place 4 stars because of its food's consistency. I've been going here for years for their bento box dinners and hibachi meals. I have never been disappointed in the quality and I really like their sauces. The sushi isn't anything super special, but it's also still pretty good--like a B+ or an A- depending on the preparer, I guess. Downsides: the service suffers at times. This is a typical mall restaurant where young people come to work for a little while and then leave. That being said, no one has ever been rude to us. It's just that the wait times tend to drag on and little mistakes like forgetting drinks/orders are common, at least in my experience. So if you're looking for an affordable place to stop and eat while you shop, I'd recommend here for sure. It's as good as you're going to find in the Pierre Bossier mall. read more

The service was quick and friendly and the sushi was delicious and large. Seriously, it was comically large sushi. The shrimp tempura roll is about 4 inches around. The piece of fish in the yellowtail roll was about 1.25 inches square. Again, it was delicious but be prepared to dislocate your jaw to eat your meal. read more

Stopped in again to grab a quick, affordable and absolutely delicious lunch. Shrimp and rice, this time i ordered a little extra sauce, great decision. The salad was refreshing. The soup was delicious and warm going down. The waiter was very attentive and pleasant. This was a very good eating experience. read more

So apparently it's like shake and bake according to the waitress. You can't pick the sushi for your combo platter, but you can request them not to put things that you would hate on your plate..... I really liked the straight calamari it's a new twist on an old favorite. Food was interesting waitress tried to explain what the white fish and red fish were she is the head waitress!! And is pretty sure it's tuna. It's so hard to tell. She had to leave us the check, because she needed to do next weeks schedule and let us know just to flag down another waitress and she was nice enough to sweat all on our table while giggling about how some ppl don't like it. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys the described encounter. read more

I love this place! Iv been eating here since i wsa in highschool so around 8-9 years. I love the food and the people. Its the one place i come to eat sushi. And the other food is just as amazing! Amber was my server today and she was great. Super friendly great person. The men on the shift were great aswell. It was just an all around a good experience like all the other times iv been here. Im not giving a five star tho this time because the managment has been slaking. The last few months theres been problems. I could tell somwthing was wrong as soon as i came in today. 2 guys on the floor. 1 server and 1 host (who was also having to serve) That's it. It was about 4 p.m. dinner people were coming in and there wasnt enogh servers. We waited 20 minuets before being waited on and thats because thats when our server got to work. Me and my boyfriend love this place but the managment needs some work. P.S. there isnt even a manager in the store. read more

Ok I have found it! The worst sushi restaurant in Shreveport. I headed this way as Yelp was pointing me to a Sake Sushi location down the street. Turns out the location is long gone. I decided to stop here given all the favorable reviews. Décor: Polynesian meets IHOP. Food: I ordered the tempura shrimp which was very good, but served with a soy based sauce and not the usual tempura sauce. I can not remember the exact rolls I ordered, but I believe one was Ruby. It was a salad bowl with several rolls on the bottom, all covered by a pound of salad. I had to dig through leaves to try to find these rolls. I have never seen a presentation like this in my life. The other roll was some eel/shrimp combo that was overpriced and did not taste fresh. I have had better rolls on a buffet line than the rolls here. Service: The waitress was completely clueless and could not provide any input on sushi that did not have an ingredient description. I asked about several and she had to go ask the chef. Since she was too dumb to write it down, she basically said" Umm, well this one (monkey brain I believe) includes mushroom (huh?) and I think tuna" and the other one she remembered tuna, but nothing else. I said fk it and just got the tempura shrimp. Overall: One and done. read more

This used to be the place for sushi and whatever else. I don't know what happened, but last night when we went they're feeding soup in styrofoam cups now. Our server was indifferent to our complaint. The last time we went we couldn't get the server to refill drinks and seemed irritated at having to take our orders. This place is too expensive to treat customers this way. Not returning. read more

Compared to the other Ichiban location, this one is phenomenal. Great service, well spaced, good food. Our server was really helpful when picking out rolls to get. **A note to future customers, though:** The rolls at the original Ichiban location and at this location are not necessarily the same. Same owners, same family, but they used the names interchangeably, so ask before you order. Said server was nice enough to tell us that before we ordered our food. The sushi is not the only good stuff though. We ordered off the menu as well, and shared an entree, and it was awesome. No roaches here, means it gets a 5-star review! read more

The prices are fair, the food was great. We sat at the bar and watched the chef prepare our meal. Everything was sealed and kept refrigerated when not in use which was a nice touch. The only downsides I have to this place is that it's kind of dusty. Some of their decorations had a nice thick layer of dust on them which was a bit of a turn off. And service seems to lackluster nearer to closing time. All in all I've never had a bad experience here. read more

First off, this place got a star for the pretty decent sushi however the service was horrid. My husband and I walked in and go unnoticed, which was fine at first until we were seated without a menu... I had to send my husband to grab a menu from the front, which no one was there. Then there's the level of professionalism that needs to be discussed. Towards the end of the meal, by the sushi bar one of the what seemed like a manager and one of the waitresses were discussing a former coworker and how much they disliked her and another worker being arrested and in jail. That's fine to do but not within earshot of your customers. I'm very displeased with my experience. read more

The absolute worst customer service. Cody refused to remake an order for my family after it had been sitting out, waiting to be picked up by Waitr. I called to ask if it had been picked up and he said no and told me that his establishment shouldn't have to remake anything for me and lose out on food just because someone hadn't picked up the food. We have eaten at Ichiban locations in other cities and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere, but were really not impressed with the Bossier City location. They do not have the hibachi grill experience, so if that is what you are looking for go down the street a block to Shogun. The restaurant was virtually a ghost town when we arrived. We were shown to a table with torn seat coverings by a dirty window looking out into the mall. I ordered a bento box and my husband ordered a hibachi style steak teriyaki plate, both with fried rice. When the food came out, the vegetables were sadly overcooked, the fried rice was tasteless, the miso soup was terrible, the ginger dressing on the salad was only marginally better, and the California rolls were definitely NOT fresh. The steak and the shrimp were passable but not worth the price. When we were leaving the hostess was sleeping with her head on the hostess stand. We will not be going back to this restaurant and will be leary of visiting other Ichiban restaurants because of this visit. read more

This restaurant has gone horribly downhill. The food is frequently served over cooked and the fish they choose for their sushi often tastes canned and fishy. It's hard to spend hard earned money here anymore. It is the McDonalds of sushi places. read more

I'm giving this a 1 star because not only did we wait a long time for our meal but when they did give us our meal the fried rice we ordered was half cold and was not worth what I paid for and also the sushi we ordered was not that good also after I had ate it the salmon was not properly cooked and I had a stomach ache so not recommend to anyone read more

I have eaten here (or at the Youree location) at least once a month since 2005. I'm not a real sushi connoisseur, I get chicken, California roll, or monkey brain. They are almost always cooked perfectly. I always bring out-of-town friends here, it is my favorite restaurant. Everyone always likes it a lot, some have said it was the best Asian food they'd had. By the way: as of July 2013, the bossier location is indeed open Sundays. read more

Excellent prices and you get a lot of food! I love the chicken and fried rice and steak and fried rice. I only got sushi once and it was pretty good. I'd get it again, but I'm always so full from the steak and fried rice! Miso soup is just okay and doesn't have tofu chunks unfortunately, but it's free so who cares! read more

Exceptional! We ordered through Waitr, and while it took a little while, it was worth the wait! We both got rolls, and hibachi dinners, and I can't remember when I've enjoyed a meal more. We stopped in for lunch on a whim and both ordered Bento Boxes, the fried rice was exellent, almost as good as Benihana. Service was good and friendly. The dumplings and tempura in the box should've been served warm in my opinion, but that was the only thing that stopped me from 5 *s. The amount of food we got for the price was good too.
