Phở tái chin ⋅ 13ème - Paris, France
    Justin L.

Very popular place. There was a 30 minute wait for dinner at 8:30 PM, but we knew the food was going to be good coming in because of that. The restaurant is located along Avenue de Choisy in Chinatown. I found the atmosphere lively, but the interior was pretty cramped. They have the tables so close together, to the point where I can hear the person next to me in a different group better than someone in my group talking across. If you're waiting outside, they post the full menu on one of the windows so you're ready to order by the time you sit down. It's pretty extensive, with many soups, entrees, vermicelli dishes, stir-fried plates, and other Vietnamese specialities. We first started the evening with a serving of cha gio (fried egg rolls), which also came with lettuce and pickled vegetables. The outer rice paper wrapping had a satisfying chewy texture; not overly crunchy, but just perfectly crisp when you take the first bite. It paired well with the pork filling, making it a very savory and refreshing entree. I went with pho tai chin, which is the rare steak and well done flank. The broth was very hot, which cooked the meat quickly as I stirred the bowl. Taste-wise, it was very rich and velvety. Each slice of steak was tender, and the accompanying noodles were cooked well. Definitely one of the more inexpensive but filling meals you can find!

BEST Vietnamese Food I have ever had, hands down. I really did not know what to expect from the Vietnamese cuisine, in France, and was blown away by Pho Bom (pun intended). For all the reasons that I love Vietnamese cuisine, from all the fresh herbs and spices to the heavily French-influenced cooking techniques, Pho Bom has surpassed my expectations of Vietnamese/French cuisine. It's usually easy for me to select one dish, from a restaurant, that I favor above the rest. But, I can honestly say that every single dish I tried at Pho Bom was exceptionally tasty. The portions aren't as generous as they come in the US but, all the more you savor every last bite. Parking is not the easiest to find, given that it's on a busy street. Always seems to be a long line for the restrooms and the dining area is quite cramped BUT the delicious food was all worth it, for me. Possibly, THE best meal I had while in France!

Asked our Vietnamese Uber drive where to eat Vietnamese food and his first response was a Pho Bom. I enjoyed it! Very different flavor of Vietnamese food than what I am used to, but it was still very good! All regions of Vietnam make food a little differently and everyone has their own unique way and recipe of making things. My favorite Vietnamese dish is Bun Rieu and since they had it on the menu of course I had to get it! It was a huge bowl of noodles and the flavor was amazing. I appreciate that had thai chili peppers ready for me, just the way I like it, extra spicy! They have an extensive menu!! I feel like the guy taking our order/ maybe the owner saw me taking photos of the menu and was suspicious of my intentions, but I was just taking them for Yelp because I wish someone else would have taken photos of the menu for me. So many different options to choose from, it's great if you are having a craving of something specific. The place was packed when we came in on a Saturday. I'm glad I found a feat Vietnamese restaurant in Paris I can refer back to.

We love Pho Bom. Hand down to the best Pho I ever had. We traveled from California to Paris, it was cold and rainy all I wanted was a bowl of Pho. We looked up on Yelp and found this place with the most star reviews so we decided to give it a try. We were really impressed with the quality of Pho, for 12.90 euro they gave us plenty of meat varieties. The customer service is really great also. On our last day in Paris we came back again for the same Pho dac biet, there was a line of 10 people waiting outside but it moved pretty fast. We also had rice porridge and bun thit nuong. They were also very good. If you like authentic Viet foods, I recommend you should give it a try at Pho Bom when in Paris.

It's hard not to go to Paris and not check out 13th arrondissement. We found Pho Bom through Yelp and took an Uber to get here. The place was very busy but we got a table within 5 minutes. I ordered the Mi kho dac biet (specialty dry egg noodle soup) very tasty, loaded with thin sliced meat, shrimp and meat patty (cha). I was so satisfied and barely finished. Definitely a good choice for Vietnamese food and by the way, this is not your typical tourist place. Price is very reasonable and the menu has a variety Vietnamese dishes. Totally recommended this place to everyone!

Monday 1pm : restaurant was full but us 3 people got a table in 10min. Ordered Banh Bot Loc, Banh beo: Hue specialty FYI. Very tasty. Pho: a little too sweet to my taste, meat and meatball is great. Mi Quang: ah, the hightlight of lunch, very big bowl, generous portion with rice cake on top, rich in coconut broth. Salad of shrimp pork and lotus: very good fresh and crunchy.

    * Bun Bo Hue (not really spicy but spiceful beef noodle soup)
    Karen C.

I had the Bun Bo Hue (spiceful beef noodle soup) with a side of Cha Gio (egg rolls). The Bun Bo Hue aren't really spicy, just hot with more of a spice kick, so you have an option to add as much chili oil from the spice rack to your content. The egg rolls were amazingly crisp and oily, completely packed with ground pork and mushroom and other good things that come together and enrich your mouth. Don't wear white if you're planning to have noodles with a non-clear broth and equip yourself with a makeshift napkin bib for carefree enjoyment! Came back here a second time to try the Mi (egg noodles with pork and shrimp)- it is so good. The quality here is amazing due to the broth. The secret ingredient, let me tell you, is adding a bit of fish sauce- it changes the broth in a more savory way and makes it way more delicious by bringing out the soup base flavor. Third time here, I had pho and the fried sweet potato shrimp cakes- everything is bomb! They brought someone else a bun xeo and it looked fluffy and light and delicious as well... my eyes were just eating up everyone else's food every time I was there.

One of the better Pho/Vietnamese places in Paris: it always has long lines and the food is amazingly good. Prices are also pretty fair - similar to all the Asian restaurants nearby. My family always had a favorite Pho restaurant and this one is our new to-go place for anything Vietnamese. The Pho Tai is excellent but I would recommend stepping it up a little bit and try the Pho Bo Entrecote. Trust me, you'll love it. Tons of meat and lots of noodles. If you're really hungry, cold, or even sick, this is the one!

A nice treat to find this place! Me and my husband pigged out here after a long day of travel. The food, service and cleanliness was awesome. We may have to stop back in before we leave Paris. I highly recommend this place!

Offering Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai cuisine, Chez Cay unfortunately fell short of delivering authentic Vietnamese flavors. I ordered the Beef Pho, and found the broth lacking in depth and richness, while the noodles resembled more of pad thai than traditional pho noodles. Instead of fresh thinly sliced flank pieces, you'll find bits of brisket, meatballs, and maybe what resembles thinly sliced flank?? Attempting to salvage the dish, I reached for sriracha and hoisin sauce, only to discover they weren't available.

The soup broth was tasty after adding all the herbs and sauces. My issue was with the beef slices. Some were tough with gristle that made it impossible to chew, others had an "off taste" and others were perfectly fine. The noodles were perfect! My husband enjoyed his dish but had a hard time locating many bits of chicken. I would not return as there are many other Vietnamese offerings in the area.

Yesterday at a nice bistro I got a salad to lighten things up, and it had so much creamy dressing, I was right back where I started. Needing a change, I headed for Foyer Mon Vietnam, up a small street close to a pretty happening area of the latin quarter. The place is cozy and welcoming, clean, with plants, warm lighting, and reasonably sized and spaced tables (indoor dining only). The service was super friendly and fast. But best of all the food was so FRESH and DELICIOUS. I walked out with a spring in my step. Tomorrow I will eat a kilo of cheese again, but for now I am light and free! We had crab & shrimp rolls (fried so crispy but not oily at all, with tasty sauce that was tangy, light, and perfect without being goopy/thick, with accompanying lettuce and mint leaves, ordered a 2nd round it was so good), papaya salad (crisp fresh vegetables, fresh shrimp, great light dressing, no overwhelming garlic), lemongrass chicken (good quality white meat chicken, nice variety of colorful vegetables in various shapes that aren't just boring chunks, and just the right amount of spiciness), and white rice to balance it out. Summary is this was fresh, light, high quality ingredients, friendly service, and a welcome break from the otherwise heavy cuisine common in the city. I will be back!

After some searching, I found this place that seemed promising. I ordered the pho, but it was a major letdown. I didn't have high expectations, but it still managed to disappoint. The veggie portion was minimal, the overall portion was small, and the pho had just a hint of its usual aroma. I've had everything from authentic pho to halfway decent versions, but this was bare-bones pho. On the plus side, they didn't dilute the broth, so it wasn't completely watered down. I'd give it 3 stars, but I won't be coming back.
