I've been coming here for 7 years, and it is still my favorite place to eat. Not only does pho boca get better with each outing, but it has remained consistent great all this time. My usual order is a lemon grass tofu banh mi, which is the best thing I have ever and will ever eat. I wrote my college essay about this sandwich, and it's the best piece of literature I've put out. I recently got to try the spicy beef pho, and it was phenomenal. The broth is so rich and flavorful, almost like it's sat on the stove for centuries, acquiring unmatched umami-ness. The noodles were perfectly cooked, not crossing the line of soggy or flimsy at all. Another item I have loved getting is the vermicelli noodle bowl. It's like drinking a coca-cola straight out of the fridge. A perfectly cold, refreshing, and bright medley of noodles and vegetables, balancing out the richness of tofu or meat of your choosing I know this restaurant will only continue to grow in greatness! I ordered takeout from Pho Boca yesterday (Thursday) around 4pm. I placed my order over the internet. Their website and internet takeout menu was very accessible and easy to guide through. When I clicked on a menu item, the picture popped up brightly and each dish was detailed specifically. And there was space to write in any specific cooking instructions. Yes....Pho Boca website was one of the best I have used in recent memory. I paid with my credit card online to simplify and speed up the whole process. This being my first time ordering from here, I used Google Maps to find the location. When I pulled into the shopping plaza right off Lyons and Glades Roads, I was SHOCKED to see right next door to this place was a little Chinese takeout! Wow, what are the odds? How do they compete against each other? Yeah I know Pho Boca is Vietnamese and next door is Chinese.....but the cooking cuisines and recipes are quite similar. Hmmm...maybe they're owned by the same person. Regardless, stepping inside....there were no customers. I was greeted and handed a menu for dine-in which I was surprised they offered during this pandemic. But....I mentioned I was here for takeout. When they said who? When did you order? I thought I was at the wrong location. Instead....they hadn't realized I conveniently ordered on the internet and my meal wasn't even prepared! Well, okay no problem. I told them I'd return in 20 minutes. I went to hang out in my car. I guess this was a one-time mishap or misunderstanding. In this day and age....almost everyone orders on the internet. I have never encountered something like this. After 15 minutes, someone brought the order to my car and they apologized for their mistake. Before I talk about the food, I'd just like to mention that inside the restaurant, they offered tables and chairs for dining in and the atmosphere looked quite inviting and pleasant if I ever do decide to return in the feature under better circumstances. I got 4 items. 2 appetizers and 2 entrees... 1. Shrimp, Scallop and Pork Dumplings - $8.95 for 6 of them. The dumplings were good but didn't contain much filling. Definitely on the skimpy side compared to what you'd receive at classic Chinese restaurants. 2. This is why I originally wanted to try Pho Boca in the first place...I was craving duck....well...the duck that comes in pancakes w/ cucumber and hoisin sauce. It had been 15 years since I last had this from my days of living back in Manhattan. So...- $21.95 - Peking Duck Wraps - yes, this was classic just like my memories from long ago. I recommend this. The duck was the best part of the meal. I'm not sure why it's considered an appetizer yet it's one of the priciest options on their menu. 3. Shaking Beef - $16.50 - marinated cubes of beef shaked, seared and tossed in wok and onions, bell peppers, served with fried rice. This entree was decent. The sauce the beef was cooked in was flavorful. But....this just reminded me of another Pepper Steak w/ Onions entree from a Chinese restaurant. This was sort of forgetful, but it wasn't bad. 4. Pan Fried Crispy Egg Noodle - $15.50 - you choose either crispy or soft egg noodles and a protein as well either beef, chicken, shrimp +$2 or seafood +3. I chose the soft egg noodles with chicken. I was excited for this dish as it appeared very similar to one of my favorite entrees from PF Chang called...Double Pan Fried Noodle (which by the way no longer appears on their menu, but is offered upon request). This dish was also just decent. I figured this would be cooked in a brown, gravy sauce but instead was cooked with a white sauce. It was okay. The chicken and vegetables were fine. The noodles were a little too thin for my liking, but overall not bad. Just...the dish came off too similar as compared to your usual Chinese place. I never tried any of their Pho Bowls, maybe if I come back another time I'll sample their soups. Vietnamese cuisine is certainly known for their giant portioned soups w/ noodles. I thought Pho Boca would be a little different. I was expecting some upscale Vietnamese cuisine. Their menu was certainly interesting and diversified, but in the end it was sort of forgettable, ultimately reminding me of just another Chinese restaurant. And for $67 - nothing stood out other than the Peking Duck Wraps. In the future, I think I'd just return to my usual PF Chang and or my favorite place at Coconut Creek Casino on Sample Road called - The Bol! Those two Asian restaurants certainly have won my loyalties. Maybe Pho Boca could be a possibility again as I wouldn't mind sitting down with the dine-in area looking quite authentic and casual. read more

For starters, this restaurant has the craziest website homepage in existence, with a 10-page plus legal disclaimer and waiver. Rachel got a rice noodle salad, and donna got a pho. I didn't try either, but both looked good, although the actual test of a Vietnamese place is its pho broth. Brian got a General Tso-like chili chicken dish and ordered it highest level spicy. They took him seriously. It came out VERY spicy, it's tasty, but no way I could eat more than a few pieces with the way he got it -- I would say if you wanted a general tso like dish, it's probably one of the best in the area if you ordered it regular spicy or a little spicy. Still not spicy enough for brian, but as we know, that's basically unachievable. I got the shaking beef and ordered it a little spicy, with no green peppers, only red. It came out with no peppers. Onions only because their mise en place for bell peppers is premixed. Ok, I guess. Beef was really tender and the sauce was good, so as a Chinese-An mongolian beef type thing it was successful. Between this and the chicken dish brian got the "New York Chinese food" folks would be happy if they were brought here and didn't know what to order. Would I come back, yes. Especially as it isn't far from regal shadowood. Service was attentive, and we got in and out fairly quickly. read more

Nothing too fancy family run Vietnamese fusion joint in a nicer strip mall between Lyons and 441 off Glades. It's clean and friendly, with mostly good food. The summer rolls had plenty of veggie crunch and popped with fresh cilantro and mint, and were made even better with their peanut sauce topped with crushed peanuts. The pork egg rolls may have been my favorite, hot crunchy and unexpectedly juicy...not greasy, juicy. My pork banhmi was very good. Great toasty bread, proper Vietnamese baguette, and if you had never had a banhmi before...this would be a five star sandwich. My only issue is that they do not use patè on their bread, they only use mayo. Which, for me, it needed the patè too. FOR ME, are you listening? If you didn't know what else could've been on that banhmi, you'd be 100% satisfied. That terrific bread sucked up the juices from the grilled bread and pickled vegetables. Now, to the less than stellar combination beef pho. It wasn't bad, the broth just lacked a depth of flavor that you want to be there. The meats were not helping the situation either; the sliced beef was well done and never seemed to be "rejuiced" by the broth. The broth just needed more time to develop, to get darker and properly intense. If I was just basing my rating on the pho, I'd only give 3 but everything else deserves better. read more

Love this place, pho is always fresh, and flavorful. And the bun vermicelli dish is always delicious! Never had a bad meal here. If you want to try a new dessert the mango sticky rice is great. It's basically slightly sweetened sticky rice (it's dense, not light), mangoes and a light sweet/salty sauce with a little sprinkle of peanut topping. I am always looking to try different pho restaurants (I am Vietnamese). I called in my order for pick up, and ordered the rare steak and meatball pho (pho tai bo vien), spicy beef noodle soup (bun bo hue) and a sliced pork rice platter- and was super surprised to find they also offered shrimp chips! $1 for a small bag and $3 for a large. They also offer boba tea and desserts. As soon as I entered the restaurant, was greeted by a server and was told my order was ready. Staff were friendly, quick and efficient. My only criticism is that it seemed like there was only 1 communal pen used for all transactions-not sure if it was being cleaned after each customer. Food wise, the broths for the pho and bun bo were flavorful and delicious. They also provided large portions of meat and condiments. The rice platter also very tasty and had a nice portion of pork. Loved the shrimp chips! I ate all and wished there was more. Overall great experience and will definitely be back! read more

My boyfriend and I wanted to venture out from our usual eateries and wanted to try Pho for the first time. The staff was very friendly and attentive as soon as you walk in and while you are being served. This place is quite small in space and by the time we started eating the place was getting filled with people sitting close by each other. My boyfriend ordered spicy edamame and that was delicious and spicy! He also ordered a vegetable pho and I ordered the chicken pho. We thought it was okay for our first time but not something we would frequent over time. I honestly like the vegetable pho better than the chicken pho, I felt either the broth or the chicken had some sweet taste lingering. I asked the waiter to bring me more vegetables to add to the my chicken pho , and that made it better. Everything was fresh and made to order. I was not a fan of whatever those complementary white Chips they give you before your food comes out. It tastes like stale, crunchy, tasteless paper. The food, especially PHO, was alright.. I don't know if the owner is American or etc., but this is definitely NOT authentic tasting. Since, this type of food, is my "go to", soul food, it just tastes pretty off. My combination Pho.. the noodles were VERY undercooked and it wasn't Pho noodles. The beef was VERY chewy, not tender at all. The majority of time, I had to discard what I couldn't chew ( sorry, for sounding gross ), but it's the truth. My daughter's duck soup .. the pieces of duck were boney. Just not appetizing at all Also.. the spring rolls were NOT wrapped securely. The content in the spring rolls were loose. It was just not appealing and appetizing at all. When you bite into them, it would just fall apart. It's NOT supposed to be that way. Mind you.. we spent GOOD money at this establishment. We will NOT come back to this place. (My daughter wanted to try a different establishment - at least, we know now). Since, we are limited to GOOD Vietnamese cuisines (location wise). It's a Vietnamese style soup originated during the late 1800s in the northern part of Vietnam; which consists of rice noodles, broth and fresh herbs. Okay, okay, I get it... it's soup! Nope, the term PHO actually refers to the white rice flour noodles. So keep in mind not all Vietnamese soup is pho. Now, let's get down to the nitty gritty of this delicious dish! Neatly tucked and nestled into the end corner of a strip mall between a Chinese restaurant and pizza joint, directly off glades road. This is where you can find the best pho in Boca. I ordered the P1 - Pho Dave Biet (the meat combo.) It came with rare beef, brisket, and meatballs. Plus, the side of common toppings- bean sprouts, cilantro, basil, and jalapeno. Very large portion of meat and lots and lots of noodles. I prefer mine a tad bit spicier so I asked for extra jalapeños and was in heaven. Now, on to the heart and soul of this soup... the broth. Yep, this restaurant nailed it; Spot on. A delicate balance of simmered meat and bones coming out of my steaming bowl. A wonderfully simple and complex soup that takes full stage. Bottom line: if you've never had pho; this is a great place to start. They keep the traditional flavors yet I noticed the missing sate sauce and a few other table condiments. Service was average. The waiter had long hair (which is ok) but he kept rubbing his hands through his hair and then brought unwrapped silverware to the table. The Bun Vermicelli vegetable bowl with grilled chicken was not eatable. The chicken was overcooked and soaked in a terrible brown sauce. Food. I tend to eat here once a week and I find their pho delicious and goes great with their shrimp chips which is complimentary. I brought to waiters attention that once the brisket was tough when previous times it had been reasonably tender. The waiter said it depends upon the quality of the slab delivered to them. I tried the p1 pho which has about 3 different meats, including meatballs. I didnt love the meatballs but liked the regular meat and the brisket so in the future I wont order their pho with meatballs. My friend has had the vermicelli bun cold noodle dish and I tasted and thought delicious. The problem is I want to try many things but I cant resist the pho. Service is quick and very good. The ambiance is a simple eatery which is just fine. The menu is not large but is adequate. I see no sign of new owners as one review said but I dont know. They do have other locations. My one phinicky criticism is that the bottles they keep on the table like Hoison sauce say refrigerate after opening (not sit on table all day). Apparently the restaurant inspectors dont care about this or dont catch it or this is customary among asians. I rate this restaurant a 4.5 so gave them 5 stars instead of 4 stars. read more

They make sure once customers eat and leave they clean up and sit the next customer. Customer service is fine, there's always a good atmosphere in the heart of west boca right on glades road. So happy we went out of our way to check this place out after seeing a random sponsored post scroll by on FB haha. We got there literally the minute they opened bc our morning plans went quicker than expected and they were still setting up but very welcoming. We assured Duncan, our server, he could take his time getting situated as we were in no rush. We were the only ones there and were served all our food quite quickly. We started with vegetarian dumplings which they allowed us to mix steamed/fried. Then I had the beef pad see ew (the picture of which prompted our visit) and fiancé had a beef bahn mi. For dessert we had the mango sticky rice which was probably the best I've had. Warm and creamy and just the right sweet. Everything was deliciousssss. Decided to give this place a go since I was nearby and also knew about it after receiving multiple ads on one of my social media pages. It was right before the lunch rush as I walked in so I was seated immediately. The waitress was friendly and attentive and got my order in and delivered quickly which is a plus. They serve these complimentary fried prawn chips that I ate as a child, which was cool because you don't ever see these in restaurants. They were fresh and crispy, didn't each much because I was saving my appetite for the pho. I had ordered the rare beef & brisket option. Now with any pho dish, it's always about the broth and as I usually say, it either makes or breaks the dish and it had good depth and flavor. The herbs included were fresh but but what made it stand out was that it also had culantro which many other Vietnamese restaurants don't include. Now the meats were plentiful, like more than averagely given which was awesome but the brisket was a tad tougher than I like. Pho Boca is our go to everytime we crave for Vietnamese food! First, while looking at the menu, they will give you a shrimp chips, then your preferred drinks. I usually get Pho Brisket. Their pho is really good! Its a big bowl of yumminess! My kids loves their chicken wings for appetizer and they always order the Rice and Grilled beef that has side veggies and dipping fish sauce. They have a lot of servers that it really helps to make your dining a lot better and quicker! The space is a little small, but honestly it doesnt really matter to me. Took my neighbor there yesterday for lunch and she ordered the grilled chicken pho soup. It had a lot of dark grizzly meat in it. The manager said that that was chicken and it was dark because of the seasoning and grilling. When I said it's all tough grizzly meat.
