Spaghetti with basil and shrimp? It was great and that's something new for us ordering at a Veitnamese restaurant. Call me weird but they actually had egg noodles for Pho. I had my rare steak and fish ball and ordered a side of meatballs. The spaghetti dish was sweet with a lot of flavor and 10 pieces of shrimp. My wife was pleasantly surprised when she saw the photo outside the restaurant and she wasn't disappointed at all. The place is clean and the staff was super friendly. The food came expeditiously. If you're ever in Irvine, this is one of the hidden gem we stumbled upon looking for Vietnamese food! Walked in and was immediately greeted by the workers who were in the middle of their meal, and that's how I knew my pho was going to be good. I ordered a meatball pho and it was exactly what I wanted, simple and delicious. Portion size was good too. I want to go back and try other things on their menu. My only complaint is I had to flag someone down for the check and to pay. read more

Their food is good but Not very comfortable with their service occasionally. One time we sat outside, no one served us, when we asked, the man was very rude and said we should came to him to order, we just left without dining here after being treated like this. And I just placed a Togo order and the man on the phone was impatient and kept saying it's very quick and we should pick up in 10 mins. Recommend staff should be trained how to communicate to work in the restaurant. read more

DoorDashed Thai Tea, Pho Rare steak, brisket, & meatball, and Pho Rare steak, brisket, & tripe and all were delicious! However, we ordered large for both and were disappointed to see that, while they gave us a lot of noodles, they didn't give enough broth. I'd say that they gave about a regular-sized portion of the broth, while they doubled the noodles. The best part of pho is the broth, so we were hoping to have more to sip on. We figured this happened because we ordered delivery, so hopefully it's not the case when you dine in. read more

Today i ordered the pho beef brisket as usual and the box had a cut open in the corner, when i asked him he said its to help the food i assume to cool off okay i let it slide because if thats how it works there then okay i will accommodate to that yet they were being stingy with the broth like why is my broth at 65% ...i ask for more and they gave more yet this will be my last time because it seems like the service is not even bare minimum. My wife, Jane, and I had a wonderful experience today at Pho Ba Co! The service was warm and attentive, and the pho was absolutely extraordinary. I've had pho in Vietnam and in Bolsa, and this bowl made me feel right at home. The broth was rich and aromatic, the noodles perfectly cooked, and the flavors beautifully balanced. It's Fall weather and my home is cold and no one wants to cook so we decided to go to out for Pho. Soup does the body good and Pho is what we are craving for. We had the Beef Bone Pho Special and Egg Rolls. The Beef bone was tender and juicy. The Pho Soup combined with the veggies and spices make you feel at home. The Egg Roll never disappoints us. My experience here was just okay. The service was alright. Some were nice and some were mean but overall it averages out to an ok service rating. I got the vegetarian pho to share with my friend who is vegetarian and the bowl was kinda stingy with the tofu lol they only gave us 6 pieces in a large sized pho bowl that costs almost $18. For the price and the size I expected better but the broth was at least good. read more

Been coming here for the past 7 years, but it's gone downhill. Used to be 5 stars, but recently it's been a 1 star. For $36 for 2 bowls of pho, the portion size is ridiculously small. Each bowl was $18 but the amount of meat (see in photos) isn't even worth $3. A few small slices of beef and 1/4 a meatball. They don't even provide the to-go bowls anymore. Fast and friendly service, but just decent pho. The brisket cuts and broth were solid, but the rare steak was a little dry and the noodles were so stuck together that it was a little inconvenient to eat. The spring rolls were just alright too. The ingredients were fresh, but their combination didn't really work and it was really lacking in flavor. I'd maybe come back if I was in the area, but I think I'd rather make the trip out to Garden Grove for better pho. read more

Easily accessed Vietnamese food in Irvine. Definitely not as economical as westminster but if one doesn't have time to drive. It works well for those pho cravings. Offerings are more limited (like they don't have the option of tendon) We usually order to go, they are efficient and accurate. read more

Used to be good. Not anymore. Service has dropped off. Seems like no one really cares. You say table for 1 They say sit anywhere you want. After sitting no one tends to you. They assume you are an uber eats pick up lol. I got a Pho #11 and Pho #13. I think the Pho here tastes clean and flavorful. They always give you fresh garnish like bean sprouts, lime, lemon, jalapeño, mint, and basil when you order Pho here. It's seems to always make me feel a little bit at home when I'm here. Service is always quick and timely, while the environment is always spotless! I've gone here a handful of times prior, so it's been a regular spot that I've continued to enjoy. I don't think it's the best pho I've ever had but it brings me comfort. read more

Decent place to get Pho in Irvine. There aren't a lot of places here and driving to Garden Grove or Westminster isn't always convenient. If I don't have the time and want something quick, I have to look in Irvine and we came across this place. I would definitely save my trip to go farther but for something local it's not bad. The staff is super nice, everyone was so friendly. I got the rare steak and brisket pho, they give you a big portion, i normally stick to the regular size. Finally!! Since moving here we haven't found our go to pho spot and this seems to be it! My partner ordered the combination egg noodle pho and I ordered the pork rice plate with egg rolls. Love that they offer egg noodle options instead of us having to ask for it. the egg roll was perfectly crisp and I especially love that they serve a bowl of broth with their rice plates, I thought that was standard but other pho places in the area don't offer that! service was quick and efficient. we were seated right away during lunch time and had no problems finding parking right at front. this was tuesday around 2pm though! i love how clean it is inside and it's simply decorated. it's a little noisy but it might be because of where we were seated, we were right by the kitchen. we definitely will be coming back! read more

Came here for lunch, and they were pretty busy. There was indoor and outdoor seating available. My friends and I all ordered our phos in large, but it wasn't that much food. We were all able to finish it (I shared with my toddler, but I was content only after finishing). The meat quality was good and tender. Soups were lighter, but still delicious. We also tried their tri-color drink and iced coffee, but both were just okay. Service was good, and they offered bowls, smaller utensils, and scissors for my toddler! Food was pretty pricey for the amount. There was a fair amount if parking in the lot, but it was almost completely full when we were there. read more

Ordered the pho dac biet/special combo large and it was loaded with steak, well done brisket, some tripe, and hella noodles. The broth was really clean and flavorful. Another amazing lunch catered by their team! I called with less than 24-hours notice and Kate and Vo were so friendly and ready to help. I imagine parking might be difficult if it is more crowded as there are a limited number of spots in the parking lot and it has a funky one-way design. Then you can add kombu vinegar to mix it up. I enjoyed the texture of the noodles, but the flavor gets tiring pretty quickly. For me I think the flavor becomes overpowering, even after adding the kombu vinegar to lighten it up. One order is a lot of food, especially because you can add rice at the end to soak up the sauce.

It was a weekend only item and I tried that. The noodles came separate from the soup. Over all it was very tasty. The meat was a bit fatty and the soup had tendons too. I took that part home and my wife loved it. I tend to avoid the fatty meat and tendons are not good to me. 10 of us so some of the appetizers got passed around. The smashed cucumbers are excellent, and my buddy also got some friend potatoes of sorts, reminded me of a fat French fry. Because my buddy and I sat at the same table we scanned the same menu, he ordered a bunch of stuff and also House Special Beef Pot Roodle. That confused the kitchen and they asked me if I meant to order 2, I said no and didn't realize I cancelled my buddy's order. Part of the confusion of a large party and many scanned menu orders. My buddy was struggling to order and our initial waiter seemed to not understand my friend and that took a little bit to work out, young lady came from the back and was able to quickly resolve some of the confusion and get questions answered as needed. In the end he had lot of food to explore. One thing that caught my eye was several couples there and sharing a large soup item served with a tray of various food items for the soup. Kind of a date night visual and something that looked very interesting. Several couples around us had that same dish and its got me more curious. Might have to come back with my wife and try this one.

Yes, they provide seasoning on the side, but personally, I wish the broth already had enough flavor on its own without needing to adjust it myself. Would I come back? Probably not. Nothing really stood out to me enough to return, and it felt more like a one-time experience. Overall, everything was just okay.

It took staff a little bit of time to come to the front to take the order. Atmosphere is bad. You will see boxes and cleaning supplies and other items just stored along the wall of the restaurant. Seating is OK, parking is hard to find.

This place is soooooo overrated. Portion amount is sooo stingy. This place is poor value and taste. Pho is average. It was $16.75 for a large. A regular size at other Pho places is more than their "large". Extremely small amount of grilled pork meat (like really sad amount, I was shocked) and taste was so so basic... Not worth the $18.95 price at all. There was hardly any of that juicy charboiled grill flavor that I've experienced before from other Vietnamese places. I wouldn't wait to eat here. The first time I came here at night, the wait list was so long, I decided to eat at "Mooji Ramen" instead that's a few feet away (which turned out to be better!) Well, I came during lunch, this time, excited to finally try this place out, only to be majorly disappointed. There's no "wow" factor at this place at all, I don't understand the hype or why there is such a wait list. For sure, there's way better pho/Vietnamese restaurants out there. I was never a big fan of Pho. I remember just a couple months ago i did not even know what Pho was , yet my girlfriend recommended it and i tried it out. I was disappointed as many people including my girlfriend praised it to be a amazingly delicious savory dish. So after my first encounter with Pho I genuinely gave up on it especially for the fact that is so pricy. Just yesterday i gave Pho another chance we ended up going to Pho Ba Co. The place is very nice ( like most things in Irvine) the employees where exceptionally helpful, even thought i had a little trouble with their accents, yet it was a good atmosphere overall. Now let me get to the Pho, in a few words it was amazingly delicious i mean i now understand what every one loves about this Vietnamese dish that is making a serious name for itself. The broth was perfectly seasoned the noodles where very well cooked and the meat was plenty-full and savory. It was a opinion changing diner and i thank Pho Ba Co for it. Good job. read more
