On a blustery night, tired from working all week, I decided to order take out. I got chicken pad see ew, and the tom kha ga soup. Pick up was easy and the restaurant is nice inside. Would be a nice place for a quiet dinner, maybe a date night. When I got home I unpacked my bag and dug in. The pad see ew was delicious. On par with other pad see ews I've had. I don't think it had egg in it though which I usually love. The noodles were toothsome, the chicken tender, and overall taste was savory and delicious. They added zucchini, and it also had broccoli rabe, which I standard. The soup... I didn't like it at all. It was very strong fish sauce flavored. It didn't have many solids in it. I've had a much better version of this soup. There were maybe 6 little pieces of mushroom in the soup and a bit of dry shredded chicken in the bottom that was awful. I definitely would not order that again and wouldn't recommend it either. The chicken pad see ew wins here! I'd like to try their chicken pad Thai and some other appetizers, like rolls of some sort. I hate to leave a negative review but I was less than impressed by this food. The spring roll was fine but the Pad Thai tasted burnt. I believe their were eggs in it and that's what was scorched? The shrimp in it was fresh and tasted fine. I asked for it spicy and it was not spicy at all. I left there 2 hours ago and still have a horrible taste in my mouth. read more

The Banh mi is not quite right. The pork should not be the smoked or salted meat, but the barbecue pork, better pork belly. The soup quality has not been tried, hopefully it will be good. For Banh mi itself, the rate could not be higher. Thx! read more

Amazing food! Bahn Mi appetizer was so good, the bread was really fresh. Had the N.5 as an entree and I loved it. Service was great every time my water even got a little empty it was immediately refilled. The staff was super friendly as well. This place should definitely have 5 stars. Ordered a bahn mi, which was astonishingly bad and not fresh - served on a slightly stale French roll, and 2 vermicelli dishes. The vermicelli had a very strong stench of melted plastic (and the distinctive melted plastic smell that you get when a piece of plastic gets melted by the heating element on the dishwasher). I took one taste of each, then threw it all out before calling in to let them know. They were unsure how to issue a refund, so I'm out $50 I guess. Big win: I was expecting to get sick from those two bites of questionable food, but I did not. read more

Took my kids here for dinner because our regular place stop making pho. The food was good but not spectacular considering the price. My large pho was $14 and the X-large was available for $20. I am a huge enthusiast of Thai food and this place was very average. The portion sizes were small and the prices were higher than many other Thai restaurants in the Amherst area. I am a vegetarian and there was a piece of chicken in my food. Personally, this wasn't the worst thing in the world but I can imagine how a strict vegetarian or vegan would feel. Other than that, the food itself was very mediocre. Overall, I would pick Fuze Asian Grille or Saigon Bangkok in the area as opposed to this restaurant the next time I want to order Thai food. read more

We got take out from here last night for the first time. We both got the medium size pho bo. It was huge! I couldn't believe that was the medium. Alittle light on the bean sprouts and jalapeños, mint etc. The pho was very good. I enjoyed the flavors and everything cooked nicely even tho it was takeout. Got two sushi rolls and they were ok. Come in for lunch with coworker, my coworker has been at Pho 54 three times already. We ordered the middle B1 - Pho Bo - beef noodle soup and C1 - Vietnamese pork chop rice plate. Both of the dishes were very good, will definitely be back to try other dishes...Pad Thai and sushi. read more

Best Pho restaurant I have ever been to! They make really authentic Pho here, and can use a variety of asian meats, or make vegan Pho too which is almost unheard of! There's a Pho here for everyone, and they have other vietnamese options too. I highly recommend it! read more

My husband and I went for dinner he had chicken fried rice and the chicken was completely raw. I told our server and she said she was sorry about it . He ordered something else to eat and then took 20 percent off the bill. I ordered panag chicken and didn't eat any of the chicken as I was scared it might be raw. Which you could tell. Small size was $10 (I had Bun Bo Hue and my friend had beef pho) and portion was perfect for us, but that also means that small could be too little for guys. I didn't try my friends pho but she said it was good and I liked my Bun Bo Hue better than other pho places in Buffalo. I can see myself coming here more often. read more

Our Phō "home away from home" when we visit Buffalo, we stopped in for the veggie phō with vegetable broth and tofu. Tho very pricey (40%higher than our favorite back home) it was very good value over all. Very clean restaurant all around -- downright spotless-- friendly staff. Terrible Pho. The pho had too much oil in it and it tasted fake. The prices were overpriced and I had to wait so long for my food.

Average pho at an average price. I popped in here on a Tuesday night. No wait and good volume of patrons. I got the pho ga and summer rolls. Summer rolls were good. The pho was pretty bland. On our first time to Pho 54 we had an uneven experience. Bottom line--the food and service was mostly pretty good, but dishes seems hit or miss. And dinner prices on are a bit high (e.g. L or XL Pho is $14-20 as of 10/2019. I don't view Pho as a dish that should be expensive. First the good. Service was friendly and attentative, even though we came at a bit of a surge of customers on what looked to be a relatively slow afternoon. Of the dishes we had, I think the Pho was the best of them. I'm not a huge Pho connoisseur, but I do try it at least once at every Vietnamese restaurant I go to. On the day we went, this was quite good. It was well seasoned/ flavorful. To me, the variables of Pho broth are the balance of star anise, salty, beefiness, and sweet. Nothing stood out, which was good. I don't love an overly sweet broth, and this wasn't. The rice noodles were good- they use a thinner variety, which I liked. We also had Pad See Ew. The portions were large, which is good considering the price of $15, but way too salty. It was otherwise pretty good, and might have been great on a different day. At Jasmine on N falls Blvd, they call this dish "Bangkok Pasta.". There, the dish will be a bit drier and less salty, but quite delicious. Typically Pad See Ew is well seasoned as it relies on a sweet soy sauce, but this type of ingredient is more sweet than salty. Here it was overly salty. On to the biggest disappointment, the Banh MI. Sorry Fox E, the Banh MI here is not one of the better in the area, and they aren't to be eaten in the bathroom.?! Actually the Banh MI I ate that day was one of the worst I've ever had. Now, maybe it was an off day, but I tend to think this isnt the issue. First, the bread used was not right- banh mi bread should be light and crisp. Here it had a starchy heavy slightly off texture--similar to parbaked frozen buns that are reheated. If you've ever purchased those in the supermarket you may understand what I mean. The pork was fine, but had no browning at all. The vegetables were cut a bit thick, especially the carrot which made the vegetable crunch excessive. And the pate had an odd gelatinous texture, little flavor and they put a ton in the sandwich. A very hard pass on the Banh Mi. Not good at all. Every one of the ingredients was just off. Too bad there isn't much competition here in the Northtowns for banh mi. It's probably a hassle to have the fresh bread on hand, and it's probably not a fast mover given that many restaurants often drop this item from their menu. TLC had a nice one back several years ago, but they always seemed annoyed to make it and then it disappeared. The city of Buffalo has some places that make them, but not conventient for me. Bottom line is I may come back for lunch, (but Thai Orchid has great lunch prices--$3-4 less than here per dish) but there are several decent Vietamese and Thai places in the area. I just don't know that this compares given the price. Between Jasmine, Thai orchid, and 99 Fast food (depending on which cuisine), not to mention other fusion type places- Sun cuisine, Fuze, Lime house etc. And these are just in the amherst vicinity. I just don't know that this competes given the competition. read more

Love the foods here. They have Vietnamese, Thai and sushi Menu. We've got sashimi, Banh Mi, Beef noodle soup, Bun Bo Hue. Their soup base has an authentic flavour and all the dishes are so delicious. Highly recommended and we will definitely come back. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. I rarely give one stars but this one takes the cake. Terrible service, ordered smoothie, server forgot. It's whatever I can make do with water, since she never bothered to come check on the table even after I had my hand raised trying to get some attention. The entrees were good, not better than let's say pho Saigon or pho dollar but since the price is similar; not gonna complain about that. The com Tom with port chop was delightful. Ordered Che ba Mau dessert can you believe that it's 5 $$$?? Everywhere else is 2.5-3.5 tops this place charges 2$ more for less quantity and quality. Half the cup was ice! 5$. Took forever for the waiter to come over. Once he came over to give menus took forever for him to come back to table. So long that one of our group wanted to leave. Water was served after being requested with no ice. Got calamari app and steamed dumplings. Both were very good. Pad Thai was good but not spicy at all. You have to request it spicy if you want it spicy. We had a party of 6. Everyone said the food was very good. So the food is apparent pretty good but the service was very lacking. Food took forever, bathroom so dirty it was unusable and to top it off there was a bug in our summer roll. Picture this as a mother. This place was so mf good. The low stars made me think twice but I was like nahhh the pictures look good. So I got the S4 soup A3 pot stickers with pork G4 carpaccio salad and the V1 beef vermicelli. The soup was so GOOD. So good. I love coconut and mushrooms so this was amazing. The salad was bomb as heck too, super gingery, fresh and a lil spicy. I absolutely loved it and the meat was not scary for being rare. The potstickers. I cannot express this enough. These were PHENOMENAL for no good reason. We ordered one for the table and then ended up getting a to go order of them as well even after eating ALL this food. The vermicelli. Bomb as hell as well, what a surprise. The food is very good here and the workers are super nice. However, the service is very slow. After you eat, you sit there for a whillleeeee until they decide to bring you your bill. Every time I come here I wait a long time for the server to come to the table. And most of the time, they do not take a drink order. They either don't ask what you want to drink at all- or bring you a cup of water. Despite the slow service to tables the food is really good. read more

Our first experience with the restaurant was mediocre with the veggie pho and pad see ew but we wanted to give it another try. Got the chicken satay, panang curry and pad thai. The satay was gamey chicken breast cooked in some seasoning - not what I pictured with small pieces on skewers, but we were hungry so we ate it. The panang curry finally came and as I was about to spoon it the waitress took it out of my hands saying she forgot to put the spice in it. When it came back along with the pad thai there were some red pepper flakes on top of it. Not what you'd expect from thai restaurant spicy levels. Besides the absence of spice the flavor was so bland. The pad thai was overwhelmingly fishy (fishier than pad thai I had in Thailand). My boyfriend is a non-picky voracious eater but he left a third of it... really makes us wonder if the owners have tasted the menus. read more
