Visiting here from ATL for a family reunion. We had a party of about 20+ people Here's an overview of my visit. Service is 10/10- Was greeted at the door with a smile and immediately seated. Server was attentive and explained the menu thoroughly. Everything came out in an orderly and pleasant manner. Food is 10/10- sashimi was so fresh, pad Thai was made deliciously, the wings were incredibly crispy and flavorful (sauce was so good!), Tom yum soup was just right, and the salads we ordered were amazing Highly recommend this restaurant! Support a small mom & pop business and enjoy this delicious food. Will be coming back here every time we visit!

Stopped in for a quick dinner. The server was friendly but unable to answer some basic questions about what was in certain dishes. My friend and I ordered and then food came out fairly quickly but the appetizer came after the entire. The quality of the food was good. Fresh ingredients.

Pretty pricey esp considering portion size.

Living in the GTA, my standards for pho/Asian food is pretty high. So I really try NOT to eat Asian food when I'm in Buffalo. Located on the ground level of what appears to be a low-rise apartment complex/student dorm, Pho 54 and the surrounding commercial units appear fairly new. When I arrived during an off-hour, the place was dead. It was shortly after 3pm cut-off and we asked if we could get the Lunch Specials and we were given a "It's DINNER TIME!" as a response from the younger girl who was waitressing. It would've been better if she had asked someone, instead of providing an abrupt answer. I was actually quite surprised by the prices. They were more expensive than Viet places in Toronto! (Definitely NOT a "cheap" dining out option.) Size of the Small did not have much noodles. Bean sprouts didn't look fresh/clean. I did not taste the assorted pho, but my Bo Bun Hue did not have the usual deep red colour and there wasn't much depth of flavour. Ingredients weren't typically what I'm used to. Overall, it is acceptable if you do not have a point of reference for Vietnamese food. If you do, you'll find that it doesn't have the complex flavour that usual pho places have.

We found this restaurant on yelp and decide to come here to check it out. We arrived around 7:30 pm, not much customer inside, the waiter ask us to sit wherever we like, so we pick a booth close to the counter. I ordered Thai Tom yum soup and clay pot braised cat fish, all delicious just a little too much sugar in it. The Tom yum soup looks delicious, but if you stir, not too much stuff in it, 4-5 slice of mushroom plus two medium size shrimp. The braised cat fish is nice, and i ate all the fish then put the veggie into the pot and stir with the sauce, taste good, after veggie, i put my remaining rice in it, husband ate it. He also said a little too sweet. Husband ordered his normal dumplings, Japanese udon noodles and dragon rolls. Nothing bad.

I wanted to give this place a try, and I have to say it was a disappointment compared to similar restaurants in the area. I did get takeout, but the issues I'm about to describe are not associated with takeout. I had the most flavorless pad Thai I've had in my life, in fact the dominating subtle flavor was vinegar which was odd. Barely any savory taste other than that. The best part of the pad Thai was the generous portion of tofu included with the meal, although again not very flavorful. The ban xeo also lacked that savory goodness you expect. Sigh. I will not be trying this place again.

This was the most disgusting, bland order of Pho I have ever tried in my entire life. The soup literally tastes like tap water heated up with a sprinkle of salt. I could make chicken stock or ramen soup taste better than this. I added literally chili oil, salt, hoisin sauce, and sriracha and it still tastes like plain water. 0/10 would give negative rating if possible. Please NEVER order the pho here, go somewhere else. Don't pay $16-20 for a bowl of pho soup that you could get by just turning on the hot tap water. This is not ok, I don't know who okayed this to even be on the menu. So disgusting. The spring rolls are ok. 7/10 Ordered pho #1 and spring rolls. NEVER AGAIN, NEVER WILL I ORDER FROM HERE

We did review this place when our friends suggested we go there. The experience was disappointing. We did order a lot of food off the menu. We ordered the Spring rolls, Crispy Calamari, pot stickers, crispy tofu and chicken satay. All were not worth the money. The crispy calamari was still the saving grace. I tried to love the potstickers but the portion sizes were so so small! The chicken satay was dry and my husband said I make better ones at home. The spring rolls looked sad. Sad and thin. We had to order a second helping of Spring Rolls because the first one felt so inadequate. The entrees were again, disappointing too. The fried rice was okayish, and the Pho was bland with no flavour. I specifically asked for Asian Spicy and it was not spicy at all. The broth was flavourless too. The pad kee mow was fine. I didn't expect a Pho place to be this disappointing. I realize I have been using this word a lot but there is no other word that can describe my experience better. My expectations were on a high given the other Pho places I have visited were a such revelations!! The chocolate lava cake was good. But it's not a Pho speciality place. My husband ordered the salmon sushi and said it was more rice than sushi and no avocado despite it saying it had avocados. Very very let down. Wont ever return. Wouldn't recommend to anyone either.

I've been here 54 times. Ish. Ok maybe 4.

I got married to the widow next door She's been married seven times before She rented me out and then called me a wh*** But at least she took me to Pho 54 Some people think I'm fun, others say I'm a bore Some people think my stuff is great, others will deplore But if you really don't like it, then why not just ignore Instead of sending hate mail while I eat Pho 54 I used to be a little well off, Boba made me poor I used to like non-boba drinks, now drinking them's a chore I used to look like Britney Spears now I look like The Cure But I don't care as long as I can eat Pho 54 What Also known as Studi-pho 54, this is where all the well-to-do and famous of Buffalo come to slurp Pho and shove long, cylindrical Banh Mi down their throats. It's pretty exciting and awesome that this restaurant has opened up right next to my favourite Chinese restaurant in Buffalo, which is China Taste. Pho 54 have absolutely delicious Banh Mi sandwiches and they are well worth the trip if you like Vietnamese food. Popular with the college students and they know how to make a good sandwich. Extremely friendly people here as well, they recognized me from the internet and talked to me extensively and enthusiastically. Definitely one of the better Banh Mi sandwiches I've enjoyed in Buffalo.

I haven't had a lot of experience with pho, but when I walk through the doors of Pho 54 I'm ready for soup and tea and comfort. The service this time was a lot better than the first time I dined at this establishment. This time, I ordered the ginger tea, which came in a little packet, and you can add as many pellets of tea as you would like. It had a good flavor. i didn't use the entire packet, and took the rest home. My dining partner and I started off with the bahn mi. It was absolutely delicious. It said that it was gluten free, with the gluten free soy sauce, but it came on a baguette, so I was confused at how that could be gluten free. My main course was a medium B5, the Hu Tieu Nam Vang with rice noodles and without the pork. It contained pieces of calamari and whole shrimp. It was delicious. I had enough left over to eat dinner the next day.

It has a very, very small parking lot, which is pretty inconvenient. I had to park all the way down the street. We approached the restaurant and it looks so cute from outside with that big lucky cat. I don't know the names of these things so don't laugh at me, lol. We get inside. It's quite small inside. Also, they have a big cage that people can sit in only one though, and I wanted to sit in there, but it was already occupied by a family. The decorations are cute, but they don't have very many at least not on the side that we sat. We sat to the right when you walk in the door. The menus look like you're opening up a humongous encyclopedia or an almanac but there aren't that many pages in there so don't let it fool you. They have lots of different types of sushi, Japanese food, Chinese food, etc. My son got a salmon roll and a caterpillar which he said was amazing. I got General Tzo's chicken , which was much better than any Chinese place I've ever had it from. This was the real deal. But first I had pork eggroll and it was so good. They served it cut in half with duck sauce all over it and it was so good that way I loved it. Then I ordered a nice size bowl of pork lo mein. That was the best lo mein I have ever had in my life. It was absolutely delicious. My son tried some the next day and said that that was the best lo mein he's ever had. The employees were nice. Took a while for our food to come, but that was OK. We weren't in a rush. I ordered a Diet Coke and it seems that all Japanese and Chinese places that I go to lately they only give you cans of pop which seems weird to me, but whatever ! And this seems like a higher end type restaurant too. It's not a cheap little restaurant. This is a pretty pricey place, but like I said, it is delicious. I highly recommend going there and eating. Hopefully, you'll be as satisfied as my son and I were.

Lowering your expectations is also a good approach. The place was packed on Saturday evening, but we still got a table right away. It was located at the back of the room, next to the cash registers. Next time, I would definitely prefer to wait for better seating. Did I overeat? Yes, I did, but no regrets, and I would do it again :). The cucumber and kani salad were very good. We tried all three sushi appetizers. Beef gyozas and shrimp tempura from the kitchen appetizers section were yum. The tempura was pleasantly crunchy, and I almost ordered more. Our favorite things were classic rolls, salmon and yellowtail. The least favorite were the Classic Roll with Spicy Salmon and the Queen Roll with spicy tuna. No offense, but I thought spicy salmon and tuna that evening were pretty bad with absolutely no taste. I compared it to eating sawdust, but actually I've never eaten sawdust, so it was kind of mean from my side. We liked the flavors in general. The Christmas, the Rainbow, the Hollywood and the Dancing Crab (the most handsome) rolls were all very tasty. Perhaps due to the restaurant's high volume, some of our food was prepared very sloppily. I can only imagine how quickly all the chefs had to work to fulfill all the orders. They still should maintain some standard, in my opinion. Well, that's the consequence of visiting during the busiest time of the week, I suppose. Our server, Anna, was really pleasant. She thanked us for ordering extra sashimi for additional cost (still low). She also complimented the way we were ordering. My dining companion knew what to choose from the menu, and we gave her a longer list of dishes so Anna didn't have to check on us as often. It just worked out perfectly for us. Oh! There was this guy helping with the food service. He was probably in training, or maybe just filling in, or maybe just helping out on the weekends. His mood and attitude were pretty bad, but my companion said I should be more relaxed about it ;). Anyway, I'll be back. We had a lot of fun. Someday, I'd like to order from the regular menu for comparison. Maybe the special rolls are bigger and look tidier? The Sushi Queen is a good place to check out for an affordable dining experience.

Once I did sit at the sushi bar, but it wasn't the experience I expected as it is toward the back of the restaurant which is a bit dark and the chefs are not as engaging as I have experienced in larger cities with high end sushi restaurants. The booths are fine if you are with someone, but I will add the ambiance in the customer seating area overall is a bit dark - I don't know if this is supposed to set some mood but it could use a refresh. Recently, I have been coming for lunch on my own so this review will focus on my takeout experience. Here's my routine - first I check their specials board at the entrance because there is always something interesting listed, full details of what is in it and the price. Usually no more than $15.95 for a unique roll. Maybe a bit pricy for lunch but I have found they are very good and flavorful so a little take out splurge is ok. Yesterday didn't disappoint, I ordered the "April Roll" which was black pepper crusted tuna, cucumber, and egg custard with soybean paper wrap with avocado on top and a white cream sauce over it that made it a 'wetter' role which I love. At $14.95 I thought it was reasonable and the attendant/greeter at the front (sorry I don't know your name) highly recommended it so I decided to try it. A note on his customer service, his is very good. He is patient, helpful and attentive. My experience overall with service has been ok - sometimes at the tables they only have 1 server who can be overwhelmed, but they do their best. Since I have not dined in for awhile, I don't know if this is still true but I wanted to mention that at least they TRY to give good customer service. While I waited for my 'to go' roll, I ordered and he served me a salad and drink that at the front tables where you pick up the orders. To be honest. when on my own I like eating at this spot the best. It's bright from the large front windows, and the attendant is right there to get anything you need and brings your order to you. Plus you get a view of the people coming and going, sort of entertaining actually. As for the salad, I was thinking seaweed salad but ended up with romaine and ginger dressing, which was simple and ok except the romaine was not chopped small enough so I had to cut it up. Next time I will be sure to clarify my salad order. After I finished my salad and drink, my roll order was ready to go. I looked in the bag and I couldn't wait to try it. I seriously considered just opening and eating it right there! But I made it back to work and it was absolutely delicious! So much that I considered going back for another! But I was a bit full from a healthy and delicious "to go" lunch for under $20.00 (not including tip). And yes, I did tip the attendant.

The avocado was fresh, the coating was crispy and stuck to the avocado and not greasy, and the dipping sauce was awesome. If you're into a thicker piece of avocado you will love these. I think I just prefer a very thin slice, or incorporated into something like a guac. The roll was good but I prefer the other specialty rolls better. I can confidently say after a few orders here now, you never have to worry about quality or greasiness. Everything is well prepared and it's really just a matter of what your taste prefers.
