There is a reason this place is award winning. I tried Pho for the first time and I'm a fan. The service was okay, but the food was delicious. I ate the full regular size. So yummy! It's a cute quaint spot. I dined with a party of 5. It's near my job and I'll be going here for lunch frequently. It's right near Van Ness metro stop. If visiting, parking can be hard to come by in the immediate area.

Stopped in on a Friday early evening for a pre show dinner at UDC. Lots of seating available, I noticed many delivery/pick up orders during our meal. Service was pretty swift, despite the poor reviews I read! Everything was fresh and ample portions. Overall, a fine meal but nothing mind blowing. My dinning pal got a tofu bahn mi and I got a tofu vermicelli bowl. We shared the spring rolls that came with her sandwich meal.

This is the closest pho place near me! Their pho is perfect on a rainy day! It's a bit pricy than what I'm used to, but it's DC. If you eat a lot, I would get the large, but the regular is a perfect size for me! They have pretty good quality meats and their pho is pretty solid. Would definitely recommend going here if you live near the area! I haven't tried the other dishes, but hope to come back here soon for some hot and delicious pho!

Good pho, and my husband enjoyed his bahn mi! Everyone ate everything with no leftovers, so perhaps some appetizers would have been good

I was craving kebab and this unfortunately did not hit the spot for me. We got lamb and chicken kebab combo (#5) and ghormeh sabzi. The meats were bland and very dry. Usually when I order lamb kebab I expect full of flavor and juicy, but this lamb was TOUGH like I had to really chew and there was no flavor. Ghormeh was bland too and not that many cubes of beef. Pita bread and rice were both good. The staff were friendly but not really helpful...we asked what ghormeh was and he just said it's "beef." I would say gourmet bazaar (Rockville) is much better.

The entree was a bit of a cafeteria style thing, but it fit the bill; the menu says it offers not only tofu but some red kidney beans in a stew of greens with lime flavor, and while I can't think of any similar combination I've had in all my travels, it works. The yogurt they offer on the side is a Persian staple, but what really shined was the fresh bread whose odor wafted through my vehicle as I drove my takeout elsewhere. A delightfully thin and browned creation, it was 100% worth adding despite the fact that they already gave me a massive pile of rice (with a bit of saffron rice on top of the plain white rice). This isn't high-end cuisine, but they delivered distinctive flavors in a timely and convenient fashion, and with a good range of vegetarian choices. Of their other locations in DC, Maryland, and Virginia, some of them offer these stews with tofu mixed in and some do not, though falafel and a few other options remain available.

My elderly father is on his own still, and I check on him every month. The place I stay is walking distance from this restaurant. It also has the advantage of being near the Metro stop for Friendship Heights, on the Maryland side (the station straddles the District line). So I have met people here, and they can access it easily from either further toward downtown or as they commute from the suburbs. I always order the same thing, biscuits and gravy. I tend to be regular not only as to venues but menu items. They issue one of those little signs with a number for the table. They then bring out the order. Even when it has been crowded, they have been brisk. It has a moderate flow of clientele, so I have not had difficulty getting a table. If you are in the area and want something casual but where you can sit down and even linger a bit, this should fit the bill.

Since then we have been a few more times and the quality has gone significantly downhill while the prices have stayed high. Today we went in around 1 PM and the kitchen was out of a few things so we decided to play it safe with huevos rancheros, and we got three orders. They all came with the eggs over hard, a tomato slice and sliced red onion instead of pico de gallo, and Kraft parmesan cheese from the shaker. That's just really not cool when they're $18 a plate. We also got a dirty napkin wrapped around a set of clean utensils. I'm giving two stars because the coffee and the brioche french toast are still good. But I won't be going back anytime soon...

I immediately had a snap a picture! Early as usual, I started off at the bar where they have a nice HH menu. I tried one of the recommended cocktails that was very good. The calamari was BANGIN! My friend schooled me and said it was tempura style which was why it tasted so good. Well, other restaurants need to take notes.. For real! Once we were done at the bar, the lovely hostess led us to our booth for dinner. We kept it simple, I had the Delmonico Ribeye sliced and she had the Branzino. She's a hard critic, much harder than me and she had to admit, both meals were BOMB!! Prepared perfectly, we both agreed.. We'll be BACK! If you're lucky you can get parking right up front in the circle, but if not, there is a parking garage right behind the restaurant with ample parking. I remember seeing this restaurant when it was being built and even went there with a colleague some years ago. I was in the area and knew I needed to get something that was not too heavy, so I said I decided on "Taco Bamba". The menu had changed a lot since the last time I was there, and I had the hardest time deciding. So, I ordered the "Its Chiko (Not Cheeko) Taco and The Noodler (Crispy Catfish) Taco". When I took the first bite of the catfish I was like "what in the shamrock tastes like this". Fortunately, it was the same reaction when I took the first bite of the Its Chiko. I tasted every ingredient, every sauce, every cut-up vegetable, the taste of how they cooked the catfish and shrimp, how they cooked the tortilla, the presentation, and how fresh everything was. It was all intermingled together so well to provide you the best tasting meal. Who does that; okay, many places try to imitate. However, these two have my vote today. It was funny listening (after I ordered my food) to some young male co-workers in line looking at the menu trying to decide what to get; hearing their reactions to all the titles along with the descriptions of dishes. Through the years one thing I've noticed is that for you to give a review you don't have to stuff yourself full of food to be able to articulate whether a restaurant food is good or not. It's not the quantity of food; it's the quality of the food. I'm looking forward to going back and trying some other things on the menu. The restaurant was clean, bright (not sterile), friendly staff, with a pleasant atmosphere.
