Every time I'm in the DC area, this spot is a must. It's officially part of my routine at this point. The standout for me is their spicy lemongrass pho - I had never tried anything like it before coming here, and honestly, it was kind of life-changing. It's like the perfect fusion of pho and bún bò Huế, with that rich, aromatic lemongrass flavor and a spicy kick that you can level up if you're feeling bold. It's one of those dishes I think about long after I leave. Of course, I had to get a Vietnamese iced coffee (cà phê sữa đá), and it did not disappoint. Super strong, perfectly sweet, and I love that you can actually watch it brew right at your table - it just adds to the whole experience. The vibe of the place is warm and homey, which makes it really easy to relax and enjoy your meal. The staff are always incredibly kind and welcoming too, which keeps me coming back just as much as the food does. If you're in the area and want something a little different from your usual pho order, this spot is 100% worth checking out.
I LOVE pho and am happy to have finally found my fave in DC! I came here after church and we passed a few other pho places along the way, but my friend insisted this is a local fave and would be worth the trek--and it was! It's a tucked-in restaurant that feels a bit tight but also cozy. We quickly got a table for a group of six, but larger groups would likely need to split up and sit at different tables. I got my usual Pho Tai Chin and it came out slightly pink but cooked quickly in the bowl. I was on the verge of hangry and it was exactly what I needed for instant glee. Highly recommend and can't wait to come back and try their spicy pho!
No meat! Broth tasted like a chicken bouillon cube was dropped in a microwave safe container with some water. Noodles were hard. They gave me the leftover scraps. I asked for them to explain this to me and the lady said that's your meal. Don't go here. I had to go to McDonald's to get more protein. This is supposed to be my after drinking meal.
Unfortunately visited this spot twice so far and just could not get with it. Service is poor and embarrassing if you are bringing someone to explore with you. Food is very okay, there are much better Pho options in the area. Came out way too fast and was not fresh at all. I tried the Spicy lemongrass Pho that seems to be all the craze here, but simply was not worth it to me. Seems to ride off the spice overpowering the broth but not much going on otherwise. I will say the ambiance is nice, it is a cozy location and the space is utilized well.
I wish I could give 5 stars because the lemongrass pho was mouth watering good. Chefs kiss. I'm Vietnamese and was skeptical when my friend said we should come here for lemongrass pho. I thought it would be the spicy beef (Bun Bo Hue) broth with pho noodles instead. Boy was I wrong, this lemongrass broth is heaven on earth. I got the regular spicy which was perfect for me. I would recommend mild spicy if you're not used to eating spices; my friend had a hard time with the regular spicy. I couldn't give 5 stars because their summer rolls were mostly vegetables and could use more vermicelli noodles. Other Vietnamese restaurants' summer/spring rolls fillings are more substantial than this Pho Viet.
Got the vermicelli noodle with lemongrass pork! It was good but I kinda wish it was more fish sauce-y hehe, maybe I should've asked for more sauce. Service was good, the restaurant is on the smaller size and they were packed throughout the night!
they have an AMAZING vegetable pho, so the vegetarians and vegans are not missing out one bit when u come here. the service was great and it is a really cute & quaint spot. the food is always ready pretty fast as well.
The only place I order Pho! I love Pho Viet on 14th on any day, it's a nice tucked in small resturaunt on 14th st. The service is always speedy whether there's a line full of customers waiting out or the door or not! The Spicy Lemongrass Shimp Pho is the only things I order, and of course I'm ordering it all year around! No complaints 100/10!
This place was very good! The lemongrass spicy pho with maximum spice is very tolerable but I noticed in my two times eating there that it does vary significantly by who is in the kitchen. I did have to have them add more spice when my full spicy pho tasted like medium, which they were happy to do. Regardless this place is some solid pho although my friends who are California natives were not as impressed. Did not enjoy the spring rolls as they tasted a bit old. The egg rolls were good but not your classic egg rolls! Service is fast but be warned that seating inside is limited and often you have to share table with another party so I probably wouldn't go here on a first date..
My favorite (and really the only) place I get pho! They have an amazing spicy lemongrass broth that will open your sinuses right up. I also love the salted lemonade and the crunchy fried egg rolls. This location is always buzzing, and it reminds me of a cozy cafe in Saigon.
This is the best pho in DC and probably the best pho I've had in a long time. The broth is extremely flavorful and the way they do their spice is much different from all the other spots. They give you actual spicy sauce instead of just siracha Check them out
Came here with a friend who lives in the neighborhood and loves the lemongrass pho. I ordered the chicken pho -- which another friend told me is blasphemous ("you didn't order the beef?") - oops lol. Its a good portion size. Lots of noodles. I got the quarter spicy which was plenty for me.
I was working in NW today and wanted some pho. I ordered a #11 which is the special pho. The staff was ok, pickup was fast. I asked if cutlery and napkins were in the bag. The staff said yes but asked if I wanted chopsticks which I'm glad I said yes to because there wasn't a spoon, fork or napkins in the bag! When I got into the office, I opened up my bag and was highly disappointed. First of all...what kind of pho broth looks like this?! I hesitated amd prayed for the best... My pho was smothered in lemongrass which is not common for pho. I assumed they gave me bun bo hue which usually has lemongrass and is spicy. It didn't taste like bun bo hue, but tasted like tom yum soup with a hint of pho seasoning. It's not fragrant and doesn't smell like any of the spices a bowl of pho would have. The noodles were fine but the meat...yikes! I had 1 piece of meatball sliced into 4 pieces, 2 pieces of tendon and a glob of meat that looked shredded meat all clumped together. Was that chunk of meat supposed to be the brisket or the flank? Note: this restaurant asked for spice level which I thought was odd. I assumed they were adding sriracha to my pho but it wasn't the case. I can handle my heat and love spicy food but this was not well executed at all. Please do yourself a favor and save your appetite for an authentic Vietnamese restaurant.

I finally got a chance to visit Pho Viet after reading about how it was the best Pho in DC. I went in on a Friday and it was pretty busy, I shared a table with another group and got situated right away. You come here for the food, it's a very no frills place where if you come enough times, they will get to know you. I didn't know what to order but I know I wanted something spicy so I went with the spicy lemongrass pho. With that one, you can pick your protein. I did chicken. It was so tasty and full of flavor. I was overwhelmed by the size of the bowl at first but ended up finishing it because it was so tasty, but more than that, it was comforting on a cold day. I also did the egg rolls, which were so crispy and almost too hot on my first bite of how fresh they were. I was so glad I finally got a chance to visit, it didn't disappoint!! This is the perfect cold weather, winter meal and it's so cozy on a cold fall or winter day. read more

I wish I could give 5 stars because the lemongrass pho was mouth watering good. Chefs kiss. I'm Vietnamese and was skeptical when my friend said we should come here for lemongrass pho. I got the Lemongrass Spicy Pho and I still want it again today! Such a wonderful balance of flavors. The spicy level I got was medium which was at my limit, it was not too mild and not too hot. A spicy that makes you want more! The service was good, it was a packed Saturday night. There was only one or two waiters but the place is small, a mom and pop spot. You don't go there for fancy, you go there for flavor and food that warms the soul. read more

Best pho in the city. I've ordered carry out, sat at the restaurant, and ordered on doordash. Always great quality. I always get vegetarian pho & summer rolls. The restaurant is a cozy almost hole in the wall with great service. Enough for at least 2 meals, but I recommend ordering extra broth for takeout if you wanna extend meals. read more

I heard good things about this place, so I stopped by to have some pho while in Columbia Heights last weekend. I tried the spicy lemongrass pho with brisket, which tasted like Thai Tom Yum soup with some well-done, tough and bland slices of brisket thrown in. The pho was not spicy! I'm glad I branched out from my usual Vietnamese spot, but this place is nothing to write home about. The location features outdoor dining and the small indoor dining area looks like it's currently doubling as a storage area. Food handling/Covid practices: The Asian gentleman and three Latina employees all had masks on. I was weirded out by the fact that the kitchen staff could be seen visibly touching the food with their bare hands. Also, at one point, the cashier went into the kitchen to prepare a to-go order without washing her hands before or after. I'm not planning to return to this restaurant. Nope! read more
Super tiny dining area, but food is amazing. I took a group of friends here who had never had Vietnamese food before. It did not disappoint. I got the spicy Pho Ga (Chicken Soup). Their broth was perfect and that's really the key to a good Pho. They give you the chili to make it spicier if you want, but it already had a pretty good heat level. I highly recommend this place and I would definitely go back when I'm in the area. read more
Came on a rainy day craving good pho and that's exactly what I got. You can ask for different spice levels and I got medium. It had so much flavor. They also had chili and a spicy sauce similar to siracha that you can add. Both were delicious. If you're in the dmv area this spot is up there if not better than pho 75 read more

Not bad. Definitely will hit the spot when you need it. Location: Not bad either. I don't think there is a good place to park but I might be mistaken. It's next to the Green Line for Columbia Heights. I really wanted pho and just chose this one on a whim. I like the plants they have that decorate outside the restaurant :) First I sat on the outside, but during the summer time there are a bit of bugs that will bother you so we moved indoors for the remaining of our dining experience. Pho was okay. wasn't super great and wasn't horrible. I actually really like the sriracha that they had. I even took a picture because it was not what I am used to hahah. Guoi Cuon / Summer rolls were not it. sorry. I just did not like them at all. I always get a guoi cuon and pho when I go to pho establishments, but if I were to come back, I wouldn't get the guoi cuon. ** btw I got pho bo vien (( its my new thing )) and my partner got pho dac biet read more

This is by far my favorite pho spot in the city. It's great for both dining in and carrying out. The restaurant is super casual with no frills and the pho is delicious and made in a very timely manner. The spicy lemongrass pho is very tasty with a bit of heat. It always hits the spot. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Might be the best pho I've ever had.. and I've had a lot of pho! Beef, noodles, broth were all great quality. I love Tom yum too so this was a perfect blend for me, I didn't even touch their sriracha - didn't need it. If you can handle spice well, go for the extra spicy read more

Prices are not clearly listed. I went for springs rolls that were only 5.45 but instead the lady charged 6.28. When I asked why, she said she included tax and bag in each, mind you I only received one bag. I didn't make a big deal but then I asked for Sriracha; she gave a small cup but I got 2 orders. The response I got was I needed to pay a dollar more. I'm not too sure if it was bc it's take out since there's a bottle at the table. She said only one can be free but it didn't make sense. Honestly I believe they make up prices as they go. The owner was monitoring her answer my questions. read more

Came here with my fiancé and I was excited to try a new pho place! I was not disappointed. Got two vermicelli bowls and it was delicious. Also, ordered an appetizer of egg rolls and they were good as well. Whenever I visit up north again I will definitely stop by :). read more
This tiny restaurant serves some of the best pho in the city! The portions are pretty big and the broth is so rich and flavorful that I always choose this spot when I crave pho. There is little seating inside of the restaurant, but they do offer outdoor seating. Definitely recommended! read more
