Pretty decent pho for Sunnyvale. Average prices and portions. The soup was a tad on the lighter side for me, but still good. I did notice a pretty gnarly layer of oil at the top of my soup, so there's that. Still ate the whole thing though! read more

PHO #1 If you're looking for Pho in Santa Clara, there aren't too many options, but drop by for a clean dining experience at Pho #1, although the pho certainly didn't taste like it's #1. The soup was a bit too bland. The nem nuong was pretty good, though. Service was friendly and the clean interior and decorations made it a standout from your typical dirty Pho restaurants. A-OK, but nothing special. read more

Great food with a happy and very friendly staff! I haven't been to a restaurant with such a happy vibe in a while, probably made the food taste better! Who knows? The place is very clean and vibrant. It almost reminded me of Google to a certain degree. Hands down an awesome place! read more

We've been to this place dozens of times and always with stellar food and service. The wait staff is so prompt, accommodating, and attentive. Seating is comfortable and spacious for both small and large parties. Acoustics are a little rough when a loud group is dining in, but the food is worth any minor inconvenience. We've tried half the menu but keep coming back to almost anything labeled "Grilled Pork." Try the Grilled Pork Bahn Mí, Grilled Pork Vermicelli Bowl, Grilled Pork Fresh Green Rolls... all amazing. Thai tea is also refreshing, flavorful, and beautiful. Prices are also exceedingly reasonable for the amount of food you get. As a bonus, their food is packed with delicious, fresh vegetables which are hard to find at most similarly-priced restaurants. Healthy and tasty! read more

Wow, downgraded to 2 stars. Their pho was mediocre as is, but now their service has downgraded to below average. Also, I can't believe they're charging for sliced onions. They weren't even thinly sliced, but just whole chunks. I wasn't sure how to put them in my pho and eat without ruining the original flavor of Pho. read more

Pho #1 is an exceptional Vietnamese eatery that promises and delivers a culinary journey straight to the heart of Vietnam. I dined here last week, and it's clear that this restaurant has mastered the subtle harmony that defines Vietnamese cuisine. I love their BBQ plate, it comes with rice, pork chop, shrimp, and pork egg (Idk what it's called). It's bussin! Also, A bowl of Spicy pho! The iconic soup it's bussin as well! This is definitely my new favorite pho restaurant! read more

Pho is really good. Probably best in this area. My favorite is Pho Avenue and this place and for Pho, I would say this one is bit better. When it first opened it didn't have much flavor. But years later when I tried again it got so much better. Staff seems cool and get things done. Best Pho in Sunnyvale and Mountain View for the money. read more

Great eatery. Service was attentive and quick! I usually have a hard time finding a place in SC that does Vietnamese food really well, but I'm liking what I taste at Pho#1! I ordered 'bun thit nuong cha gio'. Tasted great, fresh (sometimes at other places, the greens taste kind of sour or old) My friends ordered different kinds of pho. The broth was wholesome and tasty as well. I don't know if it was a knockout broth, but it was yummy and filling! Give it a shot :) read more

New spot in Sunnyvale that has potential. I'm not sure if they or anyone can survive being next to Bon Chon Chicken. Maybe those that don't want to wait too long will come here instead. It's a very clean, modern restaurant. Thankfully they have TV's and were showing the A's and a NHL playoff game. Service was fine except that they forgot to give me my soda until I was done with my meal. Speaking of which I ordered the regular #5 and egg rolls. Funny that the soup came well ahead of the egg rolls. Suggestion: ask if the patron wants to eat the appetizer before or with the entree. Everyone should know that the true measure of Pho is the soup. Well, theirs needs some work. It was rather plain/bland and was missing the deep, rich, complex flavor it needs. The noodles and portion of the various meads was on par with other places. The egg rolls were not greasy but they were missing something. Pho #1:Go to Pho Vi Hoa in Los Altos and taste their versions. And, serve the delicious looking lobster earmarked for the employees! read more

I'd exchange Randy's number 13 ranking for Pho 54 on Winchester. He Alston ranks the platform on Saratoga avenue by Payne kinda low but agree,Pho 1 is slightly above average. The qualifier to me is freshness and lack of fat swimming on the top of the broth! The meat quantity next and the condiments! The fried chili seeds the best! Pho number 1 does well and the prices reasonable. Lots of Asian food in the area to compare however. read more

Pho #1 - Vietnamese Near Me - Sunnyvale, California

My boyfriend and I come here all the time! We first tried it when they were new. My boyfriend is a pho lover and can eat it any day, he even prefers to eat it on the hottest days (I know, weird.) But as for myself, I was never really a big fan. Whenever we go to pho places, I usually get rice plates. But on one specific day I was really craving pho and we saw this "hot and new" place on yelp and decided to try it out. Loved it and never looked back! This has been my favorite pho place ever. I've tried others since but I keep coming back to this place. My boyfriend and I go once a week. The pho is great! I love it! Some days I leave the broth as is, others I add the two lemon/lime they give, and sometimes I add a ton of sriracha. We've explored other items on the menu, like their fried rice (so bomb!), vietnamese sandwiches, vermicelli, and other pho options. I think the only category we haven't tried are their chow mein and egg cakes. I also enjoy their thai iced tea and fruit smoothies. Personally, I am a huge fan of their fried chicken wings and shrimp and pork fresh rolls. The peanut sauce that comes with the fresh rolls is delicious! Nowadays we usually get our regular order: Myself: Regular #3 (rare steak pho) Boyfriend: Large #4 (rare steak, lean brisket), sometimes adds extra meatballs. They have raised their prices since they've opened but not a huge difference. They're also open later on Friday/Saturday. They used to closed at 9:30ish but now they're open until midnight! Which is great. It seems like they get more business that way. My only problem is that they're a bit slow on refilling water. Our water cups will be empty for a while before they refill it, or we have to make eye contact and let them know if we could get more water please. Other than that, the service is great! The workers are so kind, friendly, and inviting. They're always so happy and I love the atmosphere. There are two televisions inside. Restrooms for customers only (two separate bathrooms) kept fairly clean. Would recommend this place to anyone! I actually recommend this place to my friends and family. My cousin was coming from out of town and told her she needed to come here! Excellent service, great food, what more can you ask? read more

The fiancé and I were running errands around the area and had a craving for some pho, so we decided to check out Pho #1. We always wanted to try it out, since it's located next to our favorite fried chicken restaurant (Bon Chon), but it's a little out of our way. The server greeted us as we entered the restaurant. The place was pretty empty when we came in at around 3 PM in the afternoon. It was very clean and spacious. The menu had a wide variety of your typical Vietnamese dishes. I also like that most of the menu items had a photo of it. The prices were also very reasonable. We ordered a large chicken pho (to share), pork & shrimp spring rolls, and a vegetarian egg rolls (All for $22 + $3 tip). Everything was very tasty and delicious. The portion was perfect, as well. We were very glad that we finally try this place out; and now we have a pho restaurant to go to when we're in the area. read more

I work about 10 minutes from this place and even though it's a bit out of my way to go for lunch, I find myself wandering over here quite a bit during and after work. Every dish I've tried has been flavor packed and delicious. Now my co-workers are just as hooked as I am ever since I told them to go there. The service is impeccable, and I love that they have kid meals! Go here! You won't be disappointed! read more

After finishing my class at de anza, I yelped a place to eat pho and came across this new place! I came here exactly at 10:30am right when they opened. Ambiance: The restaurant itself is very clean and spacious! Nice ambiance for a pho restaurant with beautiful canvases of Vietnam sceneries! The staff are friendly and polite. (You usually don't get good customer service like that in a typical Vietnamese restaurant) Food Critique: The food here is decently priced and pretty good. I ordered pho tai gan and my friend ordered the pho tai bo vien. (Their regular size is like a large compared to other restaurants) We also ordered a side of their vietnamese style chicken wings (sweet and savory) Drinks: Thai tea (cha Thai) -good with a strong tea taste Jackfruit smoothie (sinh to Mit) - really good! not too sweet with small chunks of jackfruit in it! I will definitely come back here again to try other items! read more

Vegitable pho was yummy and the shrimp bowl was excellent. Takeout experience was seamless.

This place is extremely rude!! We came in for dinner and stood at the front door waiting to be seated for about 20 mins. It wasn't busy and there were plenty of tables. Not only did they not seat us, they didn't even acknowledge that we were waiting patiently. I asked one of the servers TWICE if they were going to seat us after 20 mins and they ignored me so we walked out! I will never come back here again cause their service is crap. read more

We came here for dinner one night as I was craving soup, and it was nice, new, and clean. Which is rare for pho places. They are usually dirty and grungy. So it was a good change! Prices are $6.95 for a small which was plenty for me. Taste was good and not oily like other places. I asked for more bean sprouts which they gave us but maybe they should give a more generous portion to begin with as it was itty bitty. Soup was piping hot, just the way I like it. I hate getting lukewarm soup. Will definitely come here again. read more

Excellent food and restaurant is very clean. My favorite is the Seafood soup with rice noodles.

A mediocre Vietnamese spot in a strip mall in Sunnyvale. I've always felt discerning different quality pho is hard. This was because I thought most places have good pho. After today, I realized that is not the case. The pho from this place had a distinctly... mediocre taste. The soup tasted vaguely chicken broth-like and was neither fresh nor authentic. My friend agreed on the soup quality as well. The portions here also leaves one wanting. A large pho came with barely enough noodles to make one full. Pho #1 is definitely in the bottom third of Vietnamese restaurants in terms of portion sizes. Another friend I went with was charged extra for onions, normally complimentary upon request. Don't come here if portions are a major deciding factor for you. read more

The pho was solid! I'm still figuring out what my personal taste is in pho. This one was good, but the flavors were a little weak for my preference. Pho #1 - Small Beef Pho. Great portion and meat to broth ration! - Vietnamese Near Me - Sunnyvale, California

I had my 1st visit to Pho #1 a few days ago. The place has a sizable dining area that could seat a large number of customers. Place looked clean, even though I arrived around 9:30 pm. They were not particularly busy as they were about 10 customers present. I was immediately greeted as I walked in, and promptly taken to a table. There was a lot to chose from in their menu. Along with Pho, they also offered sandwiches, rice plates, vermicelli bowls, chow mein among other things. I opted for Pho #11 and an order of Spring Rolls. I thought the pho was pretty good! I must say though, that when I arrived I was starving, so my thought was mainly on eating and not scrutinizing the flavors of the food. So take this initial review with a grain of salt. The broth flavor was good and the meats were tender. The Spring Rolls were very good and tasted fresh! I look forward to trying their other items on my next visit. read more

Came to this place for lunch. Pretty decent pho in Sunnyvale. The great part is parking is plentiful and it's easy to grab lunch when you don't have a lot of time. It's located right next to bonchon chicken. The place is new/modern and pretty clean. Super fast service I guess as most pho places are. I had the rare steak and lean brisket, #4 pho order. I always ask for less noodles because I can never finish and I like more of the broth. Meat was good but I don't think the lean brisket was that lean. Next time I'll probably just order the rare steak. We also had an order of the egg rolls to share. All in all, will be back when craving pho in Sunnyvale. read more

Came all the way from SF to try this Pho place. So I will give it my honest fair review. BROTH- Greasy but tastes great. NOODLES- Good MEAT- Too tough, not cooked long enough CARROTS- Was served Raw, almost chipped my teeth. (Video posted to show how hard the carrots were) All of the negatives above, would not have mattered if proper customer service was provided. The male server, was not pleased when I informed him in a kind polite manner of the carrots being too tough in my stew. He was agitated rather than being applogetic and helpful to send me cooked carrots. The service overall was rushed, non-personable. They arrived with a dirty plastic tumbler that was half way full with an orange ring around it. Servers could not communicate effectively, no welcome greetings, no thank you and no apology, except when a young lady came by towards the end, she seemed compassionate but nothing was done. *not worth the calories, skiiiiip! read more

I used to come to this place all the time but won't be coming back now. We came in on my daughter's 11th birthday and she wanted to sit at another table with her friend, but we had a party of 7. All they had to do was set up 2 tables next to each other sat 5 us at one. Instead the manager made a big fuss out of it saying to that we needed to sit together because they were "Busy" on weekends, even though there were like 10 tables open and we weren't even really taking more tables. He didn't even ask us or talk to us to figure out a solution, he just ranted like a 5 year old and walked away. Talk about being rude to your customers. read more

Great place for take out . The other posters mentioned a mild soup base Pho and I'd have to agree but it was still good . I'll apologize now, but I've never had their pho (nor do I ever order that anywhere) so feel free to not listen to me. THEY'RE OPEN LATE and I think that's what matters most. There aren't a lot of not fast food/burger options open past 9PM around the area and it's good to know this is available. There's nothing too crazy to write home about other than their food is decent. Not terrible, but also not the best I've ever had.
