Meat in pasta was too big, old, reheated smelled and taste like fridge but the TACOS ARE BANGING.

Jerk Alfredo little to no sauce. small portion for price, not much meat. Best part was the peach cobbler cheesecake which I found is made through another vendor, so I can go straight to the source for that. I had high hopes for this place, fell very short . read more

Good food , I loved the lobster nachos . I don't know I still feel like I paid too much money for the food I ate . I'm not mad though

Disappointing... was excited to try this place as it is close to my home and new but it was overpriced, lacked flavor, and left me with a stomach ache. The food was not fresh. The salmon rolls had a strong fishy smell and were slathered in creamy sauce to hide it. The jerk sauce did not taste authentic and tasted like it came from a squeeze bottle. The fried green tomatoes were just ok. Pass for me! read more

After seeing Phlavz on social media I decided to stop in and give it a try. Like most, I can always appreciate a good playlist while watching a basketball game! However, it's was really the lamb chops and Janay's service that made the experience a 10/10. The lamb chops were grilled to perfection and Janay made sure I was taken care of beginning to end. Thanks again, Janay and the entire Phlavz team! See you soon. read more

Visited on a Sunday afternoon and waited 10 mins for be seated. The wait was excellent considering how small this location is. I ordered the Jerk Alfredo and my husband ordered the Jerk chicken wings. We also ordered the Peach cobbled rolls. Everything arrived to our table within ten minutes. We enjoyed the chilled atmosphere as we listened to some good music while we waited. The food was excellent. Definitely will be back. I gave 4 stars because we got patted down and ID'd be for we could be seated. Nonetheless, worth trying for all the foodies who are looking to enjoy a tasty bite in a chill atmosphere with quick service. read more

I had high hopes for this place. Another one bites the dust. I got the Naked Jerk Wings. Looked like they killed a couple baby birds and fried them up. Took them out and put them in the air fryer!! The wings were mad tiny and dry as hell. Sent them back. Funny, I was late to my friends that were already seated. Maybe about 15/20 mins. They already ordered. I ordered when I got there and I GOT MY FOOD FIRST!! HOW SWAY, HOW?!! Perhaps a pre cooked batch sitting under a hot lamp over a couple days. The jerk egg rolls were cool. Stop around the corner at Maxwells and get a polish. Always good!! read more

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, we had exceptional service. Our wings had was absolutely delicious, I love even though it had lots on sauce on it, it was still crunchy, the lobster roll was also delicious, lots of lobster and very flavorful. The jerk chicken on top of the Rasta pasta was one of the best I've had in a long time. Overall we had a great experience and will be back soon. read more

I stopped in for lunch on a Friday, there was no line or wait around 12/1pm. That was really cool. They have indoor/outdoor seating. They got us seated quickly, we ordered promptly, and the food was served shortly there after! My kind of place. We ordered a variety of items to share. The lamb chops, salmon egg rolls, & lobster Alfredo. We ordered a few cocktails too. Everything was really good, the service was pleasant also. read more

Phlavz Bar & Grille is a Black Owned, small restaurant with limited indoor and outdoor seating. The ambiance is wonderful. The decor is very modern and contemporary. I love the décor, the dim lighting, and the neon lights. They have a small bar area with a few television monitors. The was loud music being played so this is not a place to come to converse because it may be too loud. The day I visited this restaurant, there was a line and wait to get into the establishment. Upon arrive a man too my temperature at the door. Social distancing was being practiced, and tables were spaced out accordingly. Unfortunately, most of the wait staff did not have a mask on. Yes, their noses and mouths were exposed. The service could have been better. My waitress, was friendly, but she stood over us without a mask on during the pandemic. That made me uncomfortable. There is a 90-minute time limit in this restaurant so you have to eat, drink, and talk very fast. I felt very rushed by the waitress as I read the menu. I hadn't decided what I wanted, and I felt very rushed to decide quickly because she kept coming back every minute on the minute! The prices are on the higher side. There is also a 3% Covid 19 charge that is added to the bill. The portions are small. The food was not worth the price. The food presentation looks appetising, but it doesn't taste that great! The last time that I was there I ordered Jerk chicken tips and fries. I honestly did not enjoy my food. The fries were beyond soggy! They tasted undercooked and raw. The Chicken tasted a little burnt in my opinion. The jerk sauce was very spicy and not appealing. I have eaten Jerk plenty of times from other restaurants. Unfortunately, this restaurant missed the mark. The prices are very high, but the quality of the food was subpar. This restaurant has potential, but they definitely need to improve customer service and food quality. read more

I like this location. Tried the jerk chicken eggrolls and lambchops per a recommendation. Aside from the food and drinks, I do like that is there is a time limit for both reservations and sitting at the bar when it's busy, considering that this restaurant is small. I would get annoyed going to a place and can't even get a drink because people want to set up camp at the bar. The only thing I didn't care here for was the music was way too loud. I don't get how out of touch a lot of restaurant managers are in which they don't realize they are running a diner not a club, and people do like to hold conversations while sitting and eating. read more

We ordered jerk salmon Alfredo and jerk chicken nachos, and the phlavz punch and everything was exceptionally delicious. The punch however was $17, and served in a plastic cup. I've never paid that amount for a drink at a Chicago bar and grill. There was a long wait to be seated, and once seated they give you a 90 minute limit. Before entering the establishment they take your temperature and spray you down with hand sanitizer. It was a weird experience, because I have not experienced that at all while dining out during the pandemic. Although, I have not dined out at too many restaurants recently. The staff is really friendly, and on point. Everyone wears a mask, and they are super helpful. As of now, they are serving plastic ware and drinks out of plastic cups. Also, they charge a 3% COVID-19 fee in which I think is ridiculous. I enjoyed my experience at this establishment. They do attract a younger crowd, but its okay if you're just going for the food and not to socialize. I think next time I'll just order take out. I just cannot justify waiting in line for 1 hour to be seated, and given a 90 minute limit once you're seated. I can better enjoy the phlavz experience at home..lol. read more

Loved their wings, drinks and ambiance. Would definitely be back when I'm in town. The outdoor seating is perfect during the spring.

Really good food. I typically order via UberEats and I have never had any issues. Their jerk pasta will make you sing. Their fried green tomatoes are pretty good too. I once tried the peach cobbler like egg rolls and those were not so good but that was the only thing I could say, could've been better. I hope to come and dine in soon and get the full experience. read more

The service was phenomenal, the server Jada was an absolute sweetheart. The food was was tolerable at best. I had the jerk nacho and jerk fries, the chicken was ground to bits, and sprinkled over both entrees. I heard so many great things about this place and was completely blindsided by it's mediocrity. I should have never strayed from jerk taco man. I payed the ultimate price for that betrayal today. One plus us that I supported a black owned business though. This is not the place for food, just a guaranteed pick up spot for sistas and Asian woman on the weekend. read more

I was surprised to walk inside and see such a small place. Very cute decor. I was seated and waited for 15 minutes. I was disappointed that there was only one hostess. It took her even longer just to bring me a glass of water. I looked up and she was like a Road Runner. Gone. I had to flag her down just to place my order. I'm not going to lie the food is delicious. The sauce is just too spicy. FYI.. Get the sauce on the side. I ordered the jerk chicken egg rolls, jerk chicken tacos and the strawberry long island tea. Nice vibes. Good listening music. Just the service isn't the best with communication. I was stunned when I looked on my receipt. There was an automatic gratuity $6.81 charge added to my bill. Than the nerve to have a calculation at the bottom for a tip. Nope not going to happen. I paid my bill and instantly left. I would come back and try it one more time. Hopefully, there will be another host/hostess to wait on tables. read more

Phlavz!!! Man I was super excited to try this restaurant because everyone kept talking about it! I know some people that know the owner so I wanted to come support. With that being said, know that my review is my honest opinion and I'm going to continue to support. But some things need to be addressed. The restaurant decor was bomb! I loved it! I immediately put everything on Instagram as soon as I walked in because it's an instagrammanble restaurant. Just to let you all know, the restaurant is very small. Any party larger than 4 will be struggle to find seating. It can be done but depending on how packed they are you'll have to wait. The server was so sweet!! Her name is Kayla, she's so pretty and nice. She was the only server when we visited the restaurant and she was doing well. If you go, make sure you ask for Kayla. Ok so here we go, we ordered the strawberry margaritas. They were only $7 because of Happy Hour. When we finally got our drinks they tasted like straight up sugar. It tasted like a virgin margarita. To think it's normally $15-$17 for it to be so weak Is unreasonable. For food we ordered the jerk tacos with fries. I asked for blue cheese, they didn't have any. So I asked for ketchup and they ran out of ketchup. How do you run out of ketchup it's only 6:30pm? But I digress. Things happen. The fries were good but salty. The tacos were good but the tortilla needed to be cooked a little longer bc they weren't soft or warm enough. All in all, my first experience was okay. It wasn't horrible. It wasn't amazing. It was just okay. But I will definitely come back again to try the egg rolls and the wings I heard those items are very good. The drinks need to be stronger for the prices that they are charging. read more

My wife loves this place, my first hand knowledge is really about the service Fried green tomatoes and the Salmon rolls. But let me speak for my spouse for just a moment. She absolutely loves loves loves the Loaded Chicken jerk fries. She says it has the right amount of everything to include toppings. Chicken, cilantro, onions, cheese, sour cream and jerk sauce. But you can customize your order to not include all ingredient just let the host know. Now the rolls are AMAZING, the pastry is crispy while the salmon, cheese and all the ooey goodness inside is tasty and soft. Fried green tomatoes are seasoned just right and in your order you get 5 why not 7 for the price of $10 please. About the service, the atmosphere is the bomb it's tight but NEVER over crowded. The tables are spaced a good distance for some who wants to eat in. (Bring your mask you will need it to get in) Security and the host are the best. Customer service skills are top notch. It's nice to see great service. read more

Nothing exciting about the food here in my humble opinion. The chicken itself had the right amount is spice however it doesn't distinguish itself from any other jerk chicken in the city other than it has the consistency of "ground" chicken. There's a decent sauce atop the tacos with a nice sweet versus heat balance but that's where I'd end the compliment. The tacos were in fact small but they were filled to the brim. The restaurant is rather small but there's an ample amount of televisions with various sports events playing on them. There was a classic hip hop soundtrack playing which I enjoyed & parking can be a fas tricky as you'd have to go to either Halsted or Maxwell Street. The crowd seemed to be young college students & the staff were quick to serve you. read more

This review is for the new PHLAVZ on 87th street : ordered the jerk chicken rib tips and the taco dinner The taco dinner comes with three tacos cheese cilantro onions and sour cream for $13... No rice and beans no french fries included... I told the cashier I wanted everything on my tacos but of course when I checked my bag there was no sour cream on the tacos which is advertised to come on the tacos Not worth $13 for two spoonfuls of chopped dark jerk chicken meat This is where it gets really gross Five of my chicken rib tips were RAW (SEE PIC ) .... THE OWNER MANAGER NEEDS TO BE INSIDE MONITORING THE CHEAP LABOR THAT HE HAS IN HIS KITCHEN INSTEAD OF FLIRTING WITH THE WOMAN IN HIS PARKING LOT WITH THE SCHOOL GIRL HALLOWEEN COSTUME ON If you go to this restaurant check your order before you leave they did not add sauce they did not add sour cream or eating utensils at the end of the day wasted $32 will try to dispute with my credit card company since the owners never responded read more
