Well - we passed the Hooters to get here (I thought they all went out of business but I could see…read morethis one was still doing business) and went to the Silver Skillet on 61st street near the intersection of 61st and Memorial in Tulsa. The food options seemed endless and the menu was quite large and included breakfast to dinner items all day when they are open! I also noted milkshakes and rootbeer floats and the like - plus a display of cakes and pies for sale! I settled on breakfast with banana, strawberry Nutella crepes and scrambled eggs with bacon. The wife did the same. The food was excellent served like an old fashioned diner style setting and I started my breakfast with an appetizer slice of pecan pie. The kids each got a milkshake with hamburger for one and Mac n' cheese for the other. The server was friendly and helpful and her name was Rachel. She did a great job and we enjoyed dining with her as our server!

My partner had the Philly steak skillet and it was definitely a lot of food. He brought half of it home but he loved it. I had the cinnamon roll French toast and I'm telling you absolutely amazing 10 out of 10 I could've done without the eggs and sausage side. The only negative that we might've had was the bathrooms were just a one stall so if there were somebody in there you had to wait. FYI on the way out the door we seen the display of desserts and had to get a pecan cinnamon roll to go

My family was warmly welcomed and quickly brought out those amazing sweet Croissants drizzled with cream. They managed to save me one when I returned from the restroom. Biting into that croissant was amazing--lots of butter and so much sweetness. For dinner I got the bourbon shrimp and salmon with carrots and green beans. So delicious! I was expecting the sauce to be very sweet, but it was not, it had a spicy, garlic, and light flavor which popped really well with the salmon and shrimp. I loved the carrots as they were very soft and a little sweet. Overall our meals were so good. I love that the staff allowed us to relax and talk after eating. We did not feel rushed at all.

First let me say that our family has loved Cheddar's food since they first opened in Tulsa. I would…read morelike to say that they are still as good today. As I said, our family likes their food. We celebrated the patriarch's 91st birthday Sunday night. I knew from a prior birthday celebration we had there, that they don't take reservations. That means that if you have quite a few people in your party, you just have to take your chances that they can accommodate you! They do have a call ahead wait list, however it will only accept 6 people. If you have over that mark, you had better go elsewhere. It was a Sunday night, and we were meeting there, so I arrived early to register our party. Since I could not make a reservation, or get on a wait list, I was told that it would be an hour wait! I was hoping that maybe the estimated time would be shorter. It was not! We watched people come, eat, and go for two hours! When asked about the wait we always got the reply, we're waiting for the people to leave! What kind of an answer is that? With all the people that they seated during the TWO HOUR WAIT, they could have taken us. I guess that I should mention that this was the second time this has happened to us with a birthday celebration! It most surely will be our last! Unless, and until, they institute a policy of taking reservations (I would have been willing to give a credit card to hold one), or opening up their wait list, we won't be going to Cheddar's for another birthday!!

The Bros Houligan - Best Chicken Fried Steak in Tulsa!

The chicken fried steak is the best in town, but the real showstopper is the fried shrimp. They are huge! Chicken tenders are also a solid option here. The waffle fries and gravy... I could eat those all day, every day if it wouldn't make me as big as a house. This place stays very busy all day long, but the staff are fast, friendly, and they do a good job of turning tables. It can get pretty loud in here, but they do have a little side area if you want space for private party. We've called ahead and reserved it in the past.

Before ordering, I snagged a 41 Peaks IPA from the bar... it was refreshing and seemed to come from a nice clean beer line. The waitress recommended the chicken fried steak because it comes with the white gravy Tulsa is known for as well as the green beans The Bros Houligan are known for. The salad arrived quickly and the rest of the meal not too long after that. First off, the honey mustard dressing on the salad appeared to be homemade and was super tasty! Second, this thing was the small portion?! They hand bread everything there, and you can tell. It breading wasn't too heavy nor too greasy. The gravy was solid. I could tell the green beans were super tasty, but were made with an ingredient that gave off the flavor you might find in a Belgian or wheat beer (isoamyl acetate), which I'm pretty sensitive to and not a fan of. All in all would recommend if you're looking for a place with fast, freshly made foods and don't wanna go to apple bees or the like.

The server even asked us before taking our order if we were ready to order or if we'd like to chat awhile first. Dan and I both got 2 eggs over medium with hash browns, biscuits and gravy and meat. He got ham and I got extra crispy bacon. I noticed the server high lighted extra crispy and I appreciated that because it came out perfect. I've never seen bacon that looked better and it was delicious. Our friends got the same thing except they got country fries instead of hash browns. They said they were really good. Next time I go to Mom's that's what I will get. You just have to know the restaurant to know which is better, hash browns or country fries. I've had country fries that were dry and not very tasty, but Mom's country fries looked excellent and our friends raved about them. The hash browns were crispy on the outside, but just under the crispy top were shredded potatoes with no crisp at all. Another of my favorite restaurants serves hash browns crispy all the way through but the country fries are not so good. The gravy at Mom's is thick and creamy, just as I like. The entire breakfast was good. We will be back.
