I've been eating Rubicon since I was a little boy when it was located by Tulsa Central High School. I have known the family that owns and operates it for almost my entire life and they have always produced a quality food experience. The baked potato's are a staple in town and they are the spot you must visit when you come to Tulsa. I usually get a hotline potato but today I'm trying the Shrimp Potato as I'm fasting from other proteins for a few weeks. It was exquisite and would highly recommend it for anyone who loves seafood. The wings and fries are always a hit too but you can never go wrong with a potato. The service is always fast and efficient and sometimes a wait if it's crazy busy but a great spot is going to be busy. The vibe is welcoming and chill when there is live music and on Thursdays they have what is called 'Rubicon Live' for the music lovers. If you have never been you should definitely visit. read more

I drove 25 minutes in order to get some smoked wings and a loaded baked potato. When I got home, the baked potato was completely burnt. The potato was brown on the inside. I called the restaurant and they did offer to replace the potato if I brought it back in, but as I indicated to the lady, it was a very long drive. What is most disturbing is when they open up the potato before they put all the toppings on they can clearly see that the potato is burnt, but decided to sell it to me anyway. I will no longer eat from this establishment nor will I recommend it. The reason I drove the 25 minutes is because Rubicon is supposedly known for their baked potatoes. I love them so much and their service is always impeccable, especially during covid they setup outside areas to pick and place orders to maintain distance. Such a cute family owned bbq spot. What a find! I had no idea this place existed but I'm so glad I found it. We've recently been exploring lunch options around the area as my wife just started a new job that way. We've found a few spots but this is by far the winner! I almost drove right past it. Building is large and the parking lot was empty when we arrived. One person exited with a carry out order, we entered. When you first walk in you're on the patio, then inside another set of doors to a cash register. The lady took our order (two brisket potatoes and two waters $20). We weren't sure whether we could dine in or not, but there were plenty of empty tables so we sat. Soon after about the restaurant filled up with patrons and out food was delivered to the table wrapped up togo. We followed the lead of the other patrons and opened our meals and enjoyed! The potato was cooked perfectly throughout and topped with a generous portion of brisket, cheese, ranch, and bbq sauce. There was also a small salad and two pieces of Texas toast! Today I ordered online one sweet potato pie and I assumed that I could pick it up right away. I ended up waiting 45 minutes and I don't understand why. The parking lot was empty and business was slow. When staff understood my poor experience, they offered a free drink. All BBQ potatoes are served with your choice of meat, a side salad, and a piece of bread. Definitely big enough for two to split for lunch (or dinner.) The venue is a bit Spartan, and drinks are only available by the bottle (they were out of water, so soda was the only option). You order at the counter at seat yourself. ESPN was playing on the TV. That pretty much says right there what sets the Rubicon potato apart from a BBQ potato anywhere else: they smoke their potatoes and the sauce is unique. The service here is always really good, however, sometimes there is a bit of a wait when they aren't super busy.
