We were greeted warmly by Mariana, and served by Anna. She was great, and is a member of our "favorite servers club," which includes all those who have served us since we became "regulars" about 2 years ago. At Ithaki, one is never rushed, and the server is able to work in the background to make sure all needs are met. Last night we opened with the dollar oysters ($1each on Tuesdays) and a glass of La Crema Chardonnay. Then we ordered 3 small plates: mussels, mushrooms, and short ribs, along with a second glass on wine, the Decoy. We were unable to resist two desserts: Chocolate Mousse Cake and Ekmek. Every offering was excellent. We never order the same meal at Ithaki, as we are trying to work our way through the menu, but every meal has been satisfying. We have never been disappointed.

All their plates are perfect portions.

I used my handy-dandy Yelp Boston app and landed on Nour cafe! I saw that they had #shawarma and that it was some of the best in the area, so here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: This place is literally a gas station, but there's nothing wrong with that. You pull up to the Shell, get some gas or park at a pump that's out of order or one of the available parking spots off to the right, but this place isn't really designed for you to dine in. Lol. Yes, you can sit in and eat off to the left side, but they really want you to leave. Once inside you make a right and above the drink coolers are a series of TVs that show you the menu. Continue to your right and you'll see the kitchen where all of the magic happens. Simple setup here. Service: There isn't any. You walk up to the counter, order your food, pay for it where you'd normally pay for gas then wait for them to call your name. My food was ready in 10 minutes. Food: I went with the mixed grill plate because I just FELT IN MY SOUL that I'd get a WHOLE LOT of food. Boy was I right! Lol. So the mixed grill plate comes with chicken shawarma, steak shawarma, ground lamb kabob, rice, a big pita, pickled vegetables, a slaw, a grilled onion mixture and hummus. Wow. Everything was SO good, SO seasoned and SO filling. I literally could eat on this for 2 and maybe 3 meals! I broke the pita into 4 smaller pieces and then made mini shawarmas with different meats in them! Lol. It was a bit messy, but you can totally eat this with a fork and knife without a problem. The food was excellent. Value: $16.99 is what I paid and when I got to my hotel then opened the lid to see all of that food I was just so blown away. How did they make any money by giving me all of this?! Lol. Astounded. Everything on the menu is cheap and there were many things under $10.00. In conclusion, I'd definitely pull up and get this exact same meal again! I went with the mixed grill to experience the different meats this place had to offer. I loved eating from here.

I'm like OK just had a bad day no problem. When the food came out I just simply asked in a kind way if they have any hot sauce. Instead of just politely saying that they do but it cost, he very visibly annoyed said "it doesn't come with it .. I'll bring it". I was like okeeey what's the matter with this guys and when he does show up with the sauce even more visibly annoyed said it costs but he'll give it to me. But literally in every aspect it was really annoyed said. I refused to take it and paid for it of course. Why couldn't he just like a normal polite person said it's not included and there's a charge? Why make this experience so bad and be so rude and visibly annoyed? I don't need a smile just BASIC courtesy and not making me feel bad for just asking few basic questions for gods sake! I don't need this horrible service for over priced food!

Both my husband and I have been in the restaurant business, and we know the challenges of service, but this just seemed to be a lack of awareness. So, tonight I received a call from the restaurant- I couldn't take it so it went to voice mail. Fair is fair. It was an impressive call, and something rarely done these days. The person representing the restaurant, ( wasn't clear on his name, sorry) said they were very sorry about the experience. They take the reviews very seriously, they did speak to the server for improvement, and asked us to consider dining with them again. He said they would like to offer apps or a round of drinks if we came. The call was exactly the right thing to do, and as I said, very impressive. It deserves to be recognized. Just please don't take this as a reason to complain hoping to get something free, we certainly didn't. Just give them a try and form your own opinion. I will go back.

The first time I ordered on Uber Eats, I specifically asked for no cilantro on the tacos. They still sent them with cilantro. I called the restaurant to let them know, and instead of apologizing, they were extremely rude and dismissive. They literally said, "What do you want us to do?"--as if following simple instructions was too much to ask. Since then, I've continued to give them the benefit of the doubt, but the same issue keeps happening. Every single time I write NO CILANTRO clearly on the order, and every single time they ignore it. How hard is it to leave out one ingredient? It's honestly frustrating and disappointing. It doesn't matter how good your food is if you can't respect your customers or follow basic directions. The customer service is terrible--whether on the phone or in person--and clearly, they don't care.

The prices seem reasonable here. This low-key place is order and pay at the counter with 6 tables for eating in. Mexican and Puerto Rican music can be heard playing over the speakers. I stopped by Tacos Plus while driving through Lynn. I ordered the popular Tacos al Pastor Combo Special ($15 plus tax), which included 4 tacos with rice & refried beans with cheese. The place was fairly busy, so it took about 15 minutes for my food order to be all set. The tacos al pastor had tender lean pieces of marinated pork, cilantro, fresh pineapple, & cucumber in hot double soft tortillas with a green salsa provided. These tacos were so good and had great flavors. The Mexican rice and the soft refried beans & cheese were good sides for the tacos. I will definitely have to stop by here again next time I'm going through Lynn.
