Food is terrific! Subs are some of the best I've tried! Prepared food is also great!…read moreThe only downside is the lack of parking and it's a very busy area. The store has been updated in a very good way !

No parking, no rest rooms, and nowhere to sit and eat, but I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the speed by which they made the sandwich. -- Italian Sandwich: A heavy beast of a sandwich with a lengthy ciabatta roll stuffed with sopressata, salami, capicola, hot capicola, mortadella with pistachios, asiago cheese, arugula, tomato, onion, seasoned oil, pickles, and hot peppers. --- All of the flavors came through and the meats seemed of very high-quality. The pickles were more noticeable than the hots, but easy to adjust next time. The cheese tasted better as it went along, probably getting closer to room temperature where it really shines. --- The flavors and textures were all impressive with the one exception of the ciabatta-- a little on the firm side, but that could be symptomatic of my late Sunday visit. I give them a pass for that and applaud this VERY good sandwich. --- Incredible value! This had to weigh at least 3 pounds and could easily have fed two people, and for only slightly more than a McDonald's "value" meal. Normally, I would wait and try it again before reviewing, but the city of Lynn isn't easy for me to get to, so now it is and it's an easy 4. The only things holding them back from a 5 are the lack of parking, seating, and toilet.

The sauce is perfect, and the crust is cooked to perfection. The owner Tony was really kind and made great recommendations. As for the spot itself it's right on the main drag with a great view of Boston, and awesome outdoor seating when it's warm out. On another note I'm surprised by the Portnoy Rating, I thought the pizza was far better than the score he gave. I'm looking forward to getting Volo again really soon!

We walked into a casual neighborhood space where the focus is clearly on the pizza itself, with a straightforward setup that keeps the attention on the pies coming out of the oven. The shop has a comfortable, unpretentious energy that fits the style of the food, and the open kitchen gives you a view of the craftsmanship behind each pie, from the stretching of the dough to the layering of the toppings. The Detroit-style pizza was the highlight. The crust had a crispy exterior while still staying soft and airy inside, creating a good balance with the toppings. The caramelized cheese edges were one of the best parts, adding extra texture and flavor without overpowering the rest of the pizza, and the cheese formed a crispy, almost fried layer along the rim that made each slice feel distinct. We ordered a few different pies and found the pepperoni had a nice balance of savory flavor with a slight char, and the sauce worked well with the thicker style of the crust, providing a bright, tangy contrast to the richness of the cheese and the crispness of the crust. Their menu also includes more creative combinations, which makes it interesting if you want something beyond a traditional pizza, and the variety across the options gives you room to explore different flavor profiles on repeat visits. We appreciated that Volo takes the Detroit style seriously rather than treating it as just a different shape of pizza, and the pizza feels carefully prepared, from the crust development to the topping combinations. The crust is not just something holding the toppings together, but one of the main parts of the experience. The ordering process was simple and convenient during our visit, and pickup was straightforward with nearby parking, which makes it easier if you are stopping by specifically for pizza. Since the pizzas are made fresh, planning ahead can help during busier times. Volo Craft Pizza is one of the stronger options for Detroit-style pizza in the area. The crispy caramelized crust, quality toppings, and creative combinations make it stand out from more traditional pizza spots, offering a pizza experience that feels different from the usual slice and worth seeking out when you want something that feels more crafted than a standard pie.
