Second time at Philz and I don't think I will get back. Service is too slow, I am already at the store and seems like they are still doing all the online orders before they do in store orders which takes many minutes to get your coffee. My first time took 30 minutes to get my orders and this would probably take the same time if I didn't ask for my coffee. If you are in a hurry, just get your coffee elsewhere. Plus, coffee is too expensive here and taste very similar to a gas station coffee for me. read more

I am a big fan of Philz coffee since I was in Bay Area. This was my first time at Valencia location and it did not disappoint. The coffee tasted as good as I remember. My go to drinks are Rose coffee and Mocha Tesora. The service was fast even though it was pretty crowded. The servers are friendly. I know Philz has been around the greater Los Angeles area for quite some time now. As a local from SCV and a coffee house enthusiast, having a location so central to Valencia is a joy, and the location is great! I've noticed increased foot traffic at the Valencia Crossroads shopping center and although more people means more traffic it is nice to see people lounging around and chatting more. The service is outstanding, and I enjoy the consistent quality of the coffee. My favorite coffee from Philz would be their Philtered Soul Train with Cinnamon in the filter! Despite being busy, the baristas are generous and patient when answering questions about the coffee's taste. Parking is easy and readily available. The online order pick-up counter is right at the entrance. The only downside is that during the morning and afternoon rush, it can get a bit claustrophobic if you're trying to find a spot to sit and study. Other than seating availability, I'm a fan of this location and the service it provides. read more

I was a little reluctant to give Philz 5 stars at first, but the coffee is that great. If you go on a weekend, be prepared to wait. My husband and I waited 40 minutes. I really don't fault them. They do individual pour-overs and that's the way they do it and what sets them apart. In case you've never been to Philz, know that they don't do any espresso drinks. But, if it's sweet lattes that you typically like, they can make something on par with some of the best. The baristas are very friendly and will ensure that you love your drink. Welcome Philz!!! So glad you're here (insert heart hands). I have only mobile ordered and probably will continue to do so since the lines have been so long from them just opening. I expect the lines to be long until the hype dies down a bit, but luckily the app allows you to order ahead and not have to wait! They do shut down mobile ordering when they get too busy, fair warning. My go to is an 'Oatmeal Cookie' (yes, Philz secret menu)-but essentially half Julie's and half hazelnut with cinnamon. Iced, creamy cream (or medium cream if I'm feeling less indulgent), no sugar (or light sugar). Philz is known for their drip coffee, so they do make one cup at a time and your barista should ask you to take a sip to make sure you are happy with your order. Also, this has to be the happiest Philz location I've ever been to in terms of the decor. Super bright and cheery color scheme. This Philz addiction is going to get expensive! read more

Coffee was delicious. It was my first visit to Philz. I enjoyed my iced coffee. But the barista who took my order, Katherine/Catherine was not kind whatsoever. I asked what a medium cup looked like (cause it was my first time here) and she seemed very annoyed that I asked her, when she went to grab the cup to show me, she rolled her eyes to the other barista that was there with her. I went to Philz Coffee on opening day. They were packed with a line extending out the door. The staff were super friendly and were doing their best with the overwhelming number of orders/customers rolling through. Everything about my "customer service" experience was as good as it could have been given the circumstances. I've been to other Philz Coffee locations in San Diego and Northern California. For those who have never been to another location, this shop was about the same as their other locations from the merch selection to the available drinks/add ins. Philz coffee does not use an espresso machine or milk steamer (so no "lattes" on the menu). They also do not use flavored syrups. They have a selection of beans, which the barista will use to make a pour-over, and a cold brew. I ordered 3 different drinks, an iced mocha tesora, a hot tantalizing turkish, and a hot dancing water (all with oatmilk). Cons: It could just be me being a coffee snob, but I felt like the water temperature they used might be too hot for the beans as all 3 of my drinks tasted like BURNT coffee. Today around 10:25 there was a package delivered and the barista making my coffee took it from the delivery man and then continued to make coffee without washing his hands. There was one coffee that he put a mint leaf into and this has brought up a lot of health and food safety concerns. If the baristas are going to be handling packages when they get delivered, they need to wash their hands before they return to making coffee. I did not drink my coffee today because I do not want to risk getting sick. I am questioning how clean this coffee shop really is. I have been coming to Philz for a few days, and enjoying the food/coffee, but this makes me want to find somewhere else to get my morning coffee. Employees should be washing their hands after having to touch anything from the outside, especially when it's a box that has been sitting in a nasty delivery truck all day and there is no knowing what the box has touched or where it was before arriving. read more

Finally some good coffee in the area! Visited the location on their first day and they were PACKED! Was super happy to see Santa Clarita come out and support the new business and try something new. We were excited to see a new coffee place in town, but sadly we won't be returning. Their drinks are not good. I ordered a chai latte and they add mint leaves to it. That is not a good flavor combination. My mom ordered a "hot" chocolate that was room temperature and weak in flavor. The wait is long for your drink and there are limited places to sit. But what makes it the worst is that they are cashless. I refuse to support any business that doesn't accept American currency. That is completely wrong and I won't be returning because of your awful policy. read more

Coffee is very good, but pricy. (They claimed it's organic when I asked them). Has ample parking. The area is clean, but comes with limited seating. I know they just opened, but a 50 minute wait for coffee is absurd. I'd recommend they be up front with customers ordering and give an estimated wait time. I've never in my life waited for any coffee that long at any store including multiple Philz locations. Either they don't have enough staff to match demand or they need to better understand operations. I know it is the Holidays, but service is incredibly poor. If you're not new to a Philz, then it's mostly what you'd expect. This "local" coffee shop slings coffee with a few less frills but more attention to detail than their leading competitors. The employees clearly work hard to craft a perfect cup and are careful to ensure the final product is to your liking. Seating and space to stand comfortably while you wait for/enjoy your order is a little limited, but overall the atmosphere is a nice vibe. My short visit to their restroom ... much less so. I'd recommend diverting just a little more attention to keeping it tidy as layers of dust-covered urine and excrement along the visible surfaces of the toilet don't project the image of cleanliness I'd expect from a place serving food and drinks. read more

I figured Philz was only for people who liked sweet coffee. When this store opened in Valencia, I decided to give it another shot. I got the mission cold brew with just oat milk. I'm disappointed they don't have soy milk, but the coffee was incredible. So good. I ordered in the app around 11:45, asking that it be ready at 12:45. She double checked with me that I wanted it hot and took down my order.
