I love Philz in Valencia... lots of parking available in the huge lot & the drinks always come out tasting amazing. I'm sad to report that my all time favorite drink (the cashew cocoa) is a limited time offering and left the menu today. However, Philz is classic and I love stopping by for a coffee. Compared to the Studio City location, baristas are much friendlier here and have a more positive vibe towards customers.

Now I LOVE Philz... it's one of my all time favorite chain coffee spots. I always get the iced tesora with oat milk and less sweet. This time it didn't hit the same. It's usually divine at first sip, but I dunno it wasn't the same. I was the only one who ordered when I got there and somehow still waited 10 minutes for my drinks to be made.

I always come here and it's one of my go-to coffee spots in the SCV. Parking is always easy since there's a big lot, which makes mobile ordering and quick pick-ups really convenient. The pricing is good for how much you get and the quality of the flavors. I'm always excited to see what seasonal drinks they come out with. This time I got the Iced Caramel Coconut and it was so good. It was pretty sweet in my opinion, even at medium sweetness, but it was still creamy and smooth and the flavors were really there. The best way I can describe it is that it tastes similar to Girl Scout Samoas cookies and very coconut forward. I love coconut, so this drink was perfect for me. I usually mobile order and the drinks are always ready on time, and the staff is always nice. From the regular menu, I always get the Philtered Soul Cold Brew or the Oatmeal Cookie Cold Brew. I also like how you can adjust everything like sweetness and milk options to customize your drink. There are also some seats inside. Overall, very consistent, good drinks, easy parking, and friendly service.

The Mint Mojito. This review is based off this one drink alone. Love it! Can't get enough of it. If you're not into mint... you're missing out! I wish we had a Philz coffee in Fresno. Whenever we go down to Santa Clarita to visit family, we almost always stop here, in Valencia, just for this. The service is quick and the drinks are delish. It's in a nice little area, water fountain in front to look at. We usually don't stick around too long but our short visits are usually quite pleasant and a breath of fresh air.

This is not my usual Philz but as I made my way back from Ojai one day, I passed by this location and was craving an ice cold Mint Mojito. I gave my order to a Barista extraordinaire named Jerry and he deftly prepared my drink like Tom Cruise in Cocktail (dang, I aged myself). But unlike the movie, this Mojito was freaking delicious. Well done Philz!

Why is there a leaf floating in my tea?

I wanted to try a new spot, so I came in to grab a hot chai with almond milk. The barista was super friendly and helped me customize my drink to how I wanted it. She offered to have them make it creamy so it wasn't just straight milk poured in, so I went with what she suggested. I did say without sweetener as I'm not a big fan of my chai being sweet. When my order to go was ready, the barista who made it asked me if it was to my liking, I tried it and it didn't taste very good so I asked her to put some sweetener in it, she added brown sugar. It honestly didn't do much to the flavor, the tea tasted like they threw a black tea bag in it, couldn't taste this "creamy latte" they were aiming for and it looked as if they added a splash of milk in it as the color was off. I would suggest if you come in for the tea, make it an iced one might taste better. Def don't do hot unless you're here for the coffee! Service was excellent, just the taste of the drink I got was disappointing.

I like Philz usually get honey haze or the mint mojito. Today I got their new caramel cardamom karma drink and I'm not a fan. I also don't appreciate that he never called my name out when my drink was ready even though he called several others drinks when theirs was ready so I stood there for a while waiting for my drink and I needed to go back to work. The ready drink vs mobile queue was not the same. They don't even face the label fully forward for you to check either. Also every single time I request light ice at any location it is never light ice.

    They getting smaller or what?
    Michele A.

Food tastes fine but the portion is crazy small for a $8-9 burrito. Service is fast and friendly but I keep getting the opposite coffee I want for my order. I order hot and I get it cold or vise versa

I always get their Iced Mint Mojito and it's always been on point. Friendly staff and great customer service. I got my drink in less than 5 minutes. Store is also kept clean. Glad that there's a Philz Coffee in our area!

I had no earthly idea about Philz' existence until some friends suggested we head there for an afternoon pick-me-up. Surprisingly, it was in the spot where I had lamented the departure of a trusted coffee place where I could order half asleep and get something predictable. There was little predictable about Philz, my first time there (sure to go back now that I get the vibe and the plan). I had a moment that is rare for me: frozen in indecision, trying to decipher the unfamiliar system on the menu -- wondering if this was a senior minute thing or the novelty of a unicorn in Valencia? Luckily, my friends came to the rescue: pick your strength (medium) and the flavors you like in coffee (rarely any, maybe butterscotch), and the size (better be small in case I hated it). So, when I saw words like brown sugar, maple, caramel, I knew I was on firmer ground at last. Got the small size of Filtered Soul; would have loved the Silken Splendor but could not wrap my Boomer brain around citrus in it! Anathema! So, the coffee was excellent. The flavors natural and subtle, thank the gods. I take it with milk, no sugar and this was almost whipped, latte-esque and super smooth. Not burning hot, just right. Really, brewed and poured to perfection. So, why not a 5? I think the place is too bright. Food places should signal clean and bright, of course (and this Philz is both), but coffee is warm, golden, glowing -- cream walls with more brown, orange, and even greenish accents (like the cup color scheme) would make it a better spot to hang in, for me. Also, it is a bit pricey since I think my brand at home is superb and cheaper because I do it myself. Nonetheless, it is a 4.8, very close to a 5 star joint. If they added some live folk music, it would make me nostalgic for NY and Berkeley. Very close and in Valencia within steps of my crib -- yay!

    Rose coffee was disgusting!!!
    Sue T.

Had to meet a friend here so I ordered the rose iced coffee ? It took nearly 15 minutes for my drink to be ready . This drink had absolutely no flavor and I am quite astonished with the crowds that kept flocking in. Maybe I'm missing something here but twice I've been and it's disgusting coming from a coffee lover. I knocked off 4 stars , actually would be 5 stars if possible . The reason being is that as I was waiting for my drink I witnessed the barista making the drinks with her bare hands without using tongs or gloves to garnish the drink with mint !!! Disgusting!!!!! You're kidding me as this is all out in the open and she's using her bare hands -- touching rags, spoons, and random other things and using her BARE HANDS TO garnish each cup.

    Pastries
    Karen Ann B.

Very disappointed to see that they put the pastries with nuts mixed in with the ones without. My daughter wanted a chocolate croissant, but has a nut allergy, so she wasn't able to get one. You'd think with all the allergies now, they'd be more careful/awate.

Enjoying a cup of cold brew!

Lovely spot for drinks and dinner in Santa Clarita…read more I was in the area running errands and decided to grab dinner nearby on a Thusday evening around 6:30 pm. I found this place on Yelp and dropped by for dinner. My party of 2 was seated immediately. Personally I thought the menus were hard to read. The gray lines in the background were quite dark and clashed with the actual menu items. My suggestion to the restaurant would be to reprint the menus with lighter background. They have an extensive cocktail menu with a lot of gin-based drinks. They also have good selection of wine and NA drinks as well, including some mocktails. I got the I'm Driving mocktail ($13), which I really liked. It had good passion fruit flavor without being too sour. Felt like a really nice tropical juice. My friend really liked his drink Bramblin' Man ($17), which had strong notes of bourbon and blackberry. I wasn't super hungry, but the braised short rib looked amazing so I got that for $43. It was very tender, but I personally found it bland especially on the inside. I asked for additional sauce so I could drench each bite in the sauce. My favorite part of the plate was surprisingly the potato croquette, which was perfectly crispy and well flavored. My friend got the chicken club ($23), which he enjoyed. I stole a bunch of his seasoned fries since they were so good. I would've loved to get dessert but was too stuffed. Next time!

The street front seating and building architecture is very appealing and welcoming. As you enter the main doors, you are greeting by friendly staff. We were offered any open seating, we decided to take a table against the back wall that was adjacent to the entry. The decor inside is very rustic with a touch of micro brewery, the ceiling has many tap handles that adorn the ceiling. The menu and food, we were initially drawn into the Refinery since they seem to be the only spot that offered Brunch and Mimosas in the downtown street. Key point of clarification, the Mimosas are simi bottomless (you have 90 min) to pour down, some of us really like Mimosas, plus the price was just slightly higher that we typically expect at 27, per person. Were they good, yes, so we decided to go with one Mimosa and an Old Fashion drink, it was very well done, Buffalo Trace Bourbon. We ordered from the Brunch menu, the Steak and Eggs, cooked to your liking, they did a great job on both, the one item that we were less impressed with were the overcooked Oreda looking potatoes that accompanied the meals. We also ordered the Cacio e Pepe Beni, Prosciutto, perfect poached eggs and all of the other fixings, it was great testing and the presentation was amazing. As far as my overall rating I could not give it a 5 star due to what other customers have shared in their reviews, the wait staff is not timely, almost forced friendly and possibly just lacking some restaurant experience, they did not come around or notice things like empty water glasses and a few other things, could have been understaffed possibly on this day. Overall I would still recommend the Refinery due to the location, atmosphere, drinks and main dish prep. Thank you for providing a break from reality during a very trying time in our family.
