After a *very* disappointing experience yesterday at a different location (sign up at Chase Center location saying they would close at 12:30 when they normally close at 6pm, but still they wouldn't serve me when I went in at 12:05), today's trip to the Colma location made up for it. I strayed from my usual orders (Silken Splendor and Dancing Water) and decided today to try the Ambrosia, creamy and medium sweetness. Cashier with the cool tattoos was very kind, and my coffee was made freaking PERFECTLY by the guy working at the middle of the coffee bar (Tasche? Stache? I'm sorry, i meant to remember your name!). So much so that, my husband - who swore he didn't want a coffee - wouldn't stop taking sips out of it after I let him try it in the car. I think i'll be getting Ambrosia from now on, after years of being faithful to those other two kinds. I used to feel a little sad about Philz going the way of Blue Bottle and "selling out" and getting all popular. I was introduced to it at the original location in the Mission by SFFD when I was training as an EMT many moons ago. But after today's experience I can confidently say I am very glad that there's one next to my favorite Target. I'm glad that this shopping center keeps adding more and more reasons for me to visit more frequently. I've never encountered an unkind employee at any location thus far, so that's something. Kind of like a Trader Joe's - for some reason everyone that works at one always seems so friendly and nice. Also this location has plenty of parking (unlike some of the others)!! read more

The drink tasted good but was filled with alot of ice. We didn't want to complain because the girl with the nose ring making the coffee already had attitude and didn't seem to want to be there. I recently rediscovered Philz and this location deserves some love. I love some of the unique coffee variations that Philz makes (mint mojito is my favorite) and I really appreciate the effort Philz invests in to make their locations a little nice and welcoming. The interior is well designed, welcoming and there are about 3 or 4 tables with people studying, working, having meetings, etc. I appreciate the architecture. (2 Stars) The service was ridiculously slow. It took me about 15 minutes to receive my order. It wasn't busy at all with 3 baristas running the show. When I received the Tesora it wasn't sweet and creamy the way I ordered it. I wanted to get it adjusted however I was fed up with waiting so long. Who knows how long the adjustment would take?!?!? I Was excited to see that there was one opening soon by the house. When it finally opened, i decided to mobile order an ice mocha before I head to my clinical site. Came to pick it up and it was hot. I took it anyways without any complaint. I didn't care, I was running late and I can drink it cold or hot anyways. Just hope next time they pay attention to what it actually says on the order. I'm not just taking about me. Philz is a great alternative to Starbucks if you're in the mood for your drink to be simply coffee, cream, and sugar. The parking in this location is shared with the nearby Wingstop and Panda Express, so the space can be tight. The cafe is pretty spacious length-wise, and has a small patio area to sit at. I ordered a Silken Splendor with oat milk, and asked for extra cream and sugar, and a blueberry muffin to snack on. My drink was made in no less than 5 minutes, and because I asked for my food to be warmed up it came out almost at the same time. My drink was sweet without sacrificing the butterscotch notes of the coffee, and the blueberry muffin went really well with my drink. I will be back again! read more

Yessss. Another Philz. They got the good stuff. My boyfriend got the iced mint mojito and I really enjoyed it! I wasn't craving a strong coffee taste today and today's wasn't that strong. Which might suck for people who like a strong punch your face coffee flavor. It was exactly how I ordered it. Extra sweet and creamy. The girl in the front also seemed really nice and cheery even though it was around 6. Thanks for the smiles and coffee. I feel like it's on par with the westborough location. Busy location. Staff works hard and as efficient as possible from what I see. If you're looking to work from here, plugging in to power is almost impossible due to very limited outlets, so either come in with a full charge or don't work from here at all. read more

Mostly when I come here they ask me how I want my drink and they ask if Watever I'm getting to eat warm up . Kinda sucks they look at me and think I wouldn't care about none of those things . This is only one employee. The rest have been great I always stop by to this location. Other then that employee they been good at there service. I meant to write this review months ago. But I wanted to make sure I have credit to the sweet girl who helped me. I don't usually come to this area but I was dog sitting and love me some Philz (they don't have it where I live) so of course I had to stop and get my fix. I was super sick and of course had a cough attack in line and could barely talk to give my order. I felt so bad coughing while trying to order and without a second thought the girl behind the counter turned around and made me the best tea I think I've ever had with honey and everything that could help my throat. Then on top of that made my order perfectly as well. It was so sweet and thoughtful. I wish I remembered her name but I believe she a was a red head. This place is so bad i'd give it a 0 but I can't do that so i give it a 1. I went today at 4:30 to pick up coffee from here. and when i went to go in they threw out a sign saying they decided to close. They don't close for another several hours. the inside was still filled with employees and they just looked at me and didn't explain as to why they decided to go against protocol and close when it says even on the philz app that's it's open as well as on the sign next to the door saying it was supposed to be open. This location literally left a bad taste in my mouth. The customer service here is unlike the other locations I've visited; it was terrible. These people need to be retrained on how they treat patrons and how to properly make a good cup of coffee. My coffee was so watered down that I threw most of it out. What a waste of $6. I prefer this location over the Westborough location because the quality of the mint mojito is ALWAYS so good and the other is a hit or miss. I always have good experience at San Francisco Philz locations, not sure if it really gets worse when it's out of the city? I've been to this location for a few times now and every time I am here I don't get the friendly customer service I get in the SF locations. Not to mention the service here is SUPER slow!!! I stayed for a few hours to study here today and I place 2 orders at different times. When I got here, it was pretty crazy and busy so I understand it takes some time but not 20 mins to get a coffee and a bagel again it's ok it was busy. Then when it was a slower time, I ordered an iced tea from the app and it took 15 mins after my "ready time" on the app to receive my drink. I've read the other reviews regarding this location and yes quite true. Philz needs to manage this location better, better off at other locations tbh if they don't acknowledge this. Oh! I love Philz. I hve supported them from Mission (since 2012) location to Westborough and San Mateo. This location has to be the most watered down coffee. I kept on leaving reviews on the app saying that it's watered down. I really hope they will change that because it hasn't after a month. It doesn't give me that Philz taste. Otherwise, everything else is great. Staff is friendly. Space is clean and nice. Hope they will make their coffee stronger soon because I am about to go back to Westborough even though this is so close to my place. read more

This location seems to have issues with eta times for the coffee. It usually takes an extra 10-15 minutes for your coffee to be made. Great customer service overall and great location but just need to work on better eta times. Other than that love Philz and can't ever complain about the coffee. read more

First of all, I love Philz Coffee and the vibes are always immaculate. It's super chill, and the employees are always super nice, helpful and down to earth. I went to this one not too long ago and I was taking a meeting at the time, it wasn't too busy and I apologized in advance since my headphones were in my ear and I was like half there. The cashier was super sweet about it and they got my order out pretty fast. They handed me my breakfast burritos and extra hot sauce, and I got my coffee maybe a minute or two later. I love Philz. Almost every location I've been to their coffee tastes phenomenal. However, this Philz... is not it. I've tried this location a handful of times due to location and convenience but I honestly rather drive an extra few miles to Ocean Ave or the Westborough location. During my most recent visit, I got the Iced coffee Rosé (my go to) and the Mocha Tesora. Both tasted awful. They were watered down, barely any ice, almost lukewarm. This didn't make any sense to me since we ordered at the cashier because we saw on the order ahead app that it would take 45+ minutes to make our coffee which I find ridiculous. I just hope over time this location gets better but for now, I'll be visiting the other Philz. read more
