Philly's Best Cheesesteak with hot peppers
    Jimmy C.

Great tasting Philly cheesesteaks. I must say, these things are now on the pricey side but it's 2025, so it's to be expected I guess. Got a large Philly's Best (which is essentially a cheesesteak with mushrooms and hot peppers) by itself and it came out to $15.07 after tax. If I wanted to add fries and a drink, it would have been $25. Am I crazy for thinking that $25 for a sandwich, fries and a drink is too much? They charge $5 for fries and $4 for a fountain drink, both of which I think is too much. I think they should incorporate different portion sizes instead of charging a flat $5 for fries. Maybe I'm just a cheap mf, idk. Anywho, I said eff all that and decided to stick with just the sandwich. The lady who rang me up (who I think is the manager?) was very kind and very accommodating. She checked up on me and asked if I needed anything to which I replied everything was great (but I really wanted to tell her that I need them fries to be cheaper). I would definitely come back when I get my craving for a good Philly cheesesteak but I will probably continue to pass on getting fries and a drink unless they finally decide to listen to my sage business advice.

I walked in and automatically greeted by a nice young man. Nice genuine smile. I decided what to get pretty fast. He asked all the right questions to make sure if I wanted anything else. I was just going to get the sandwich but then he asked do I added the fries. My order was done before I knew it. Was on my way home to hopefully enjoy. I got home and was hungry so dove into my dinner. Perfect temperature, tasty & it hit the spot!!!! The young man was very friendly, his service was right on!!! It's hard to find employees like him these days, hold on to him!

Came here again and the staff was very friendly. The food was good but I still feel like the Cheesesteaks can use more meat! Despite this the food was good.

Stopped in for a cheesesteak for lunch. Back from a week long trip in Philadelphia, I had my share of several of these sammiches. Ordered the Philly's Best that's filled with mushrooms, sweet peppers, white American cheese on a amorosa roll. Hot off the grill the steak was juicy, seasoned and finely shredded. I enjoyed while watching USA take gold in the Olympics with an ice cold root beer.

Stop your search! This is the place. Service is excellent - super nice staff, especially Elena! Food is even better. Run!!!!

I wanted to like this place so badly... AMBIANCE - Old establishment located in the sample plaza as Ralph's. It smells odd in there. Can't quite put my finger on it. Anyway, there's an ample amount of parking. SERVICE - The two kids who work there seem diligent and they're polite. The food came out relatively quickly. FOOD - I purchased Philly's best for roughly $12.50. Overpriced for the quality and flavor. Something in the sandwich was excessively sweet - not sure if it was the onions or peppers. Also, the mushrooms are chopped so finely that you can't even taste it. I'm talking, julienne cut - more or less invisible. 1 star because of the staff was polite and service was quick. Would I be back? Should you give it a try? NO. Stay away. :(

Proof of both orders. Lied and stole $50 from me.

I have loved this place for years and hopefully management/owners can resolve this so I can update this review. Yesterday I placed a pick up order on yelp via Grubhub. I usually order from the location on Tustin but mistakenly placed the order here. I noticed as soon as the confirmation page came up with the Chapman address. Realizing my mistake I immediately called the restaurant and told them of my mistake and asked for the order to be canceled. They said I have to contact grub hub. I was also told that wouldn't fulfill the order and look for the grub hub order to be canceled. I called grub hub and explained this and they reached out to the restaurant to verify. The restaurant lied and told them the food was made and picked up already!! I was denied my refund and I asked them to call again and remind them that I called before the food was made and they agreed to cancel the order. They lied again but also changed their story telling the grub hub representative that they had already put the chicken and hamburger on the grill by the time I had called. Lies! They still won't not issue a refund and I'm just screwed. I realize it was my mistake but I quickly fixed it and still am out $50. Yes $50 their sandwiches are very expensive. I even placed an order to the right location right after I was told to call grub hub and they would issue the refund. Shame on the employees who worked on August 17th, around 1:30 pm. I reviewed this restaurant once before at five stars. Sad I'd had to change it.

Told us everything is made in-house, even the sauces! That's really good to know and makes me feel better about the food. She even gave me a free delicious cookie for being a first timer! And she comes around from time to time to check on us to make sure we're enjoying our food. Really nice to receive this kind of attention from a fast-casual restaurant. The Santa Maria BBQ Salad looked good but I asked her if they could substitute the chicken with the Chimichurri steak and she said "sure!" And surprisingly they did not charge extra! I love restaurants that are flexible like this. My salad bowl was SO good and filling. Lots of good stuff in it: chopped salad mix, coleslaw mix, Applewood-smoked bacon, crumbled goat cheese, corn & black bean salsa, grape tomatoes. Served with chipotle ranch dressing and blackberry BBQ sauce on the side, and a fresh baked focaccia bread. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the cold meat. I was under the impression that the meat was going to be hot. My BF got the Southwestern Sandwich. It was delicious. All the Southwestern flavors were there but not overwhelming. The sandwich was hot and juicy. For a restaurant that makes everything from scratch, their prices are very affordable. Both our meals were only $27 total. Friendly service, great food and good prices - what not to love?

Upon entering, you see the minimalistic menus of sandwiches and drinks. (There are also small paper menus available but the aesthetic is a treat!) it's a small spot, but it exudes personality and a homey vibe. I executed a beautiful cheese pull upon my first bite, but could not capture it on picture because I ate too fast! So you'll just have to take my word for it. My family also enjoyed their sandwiches. What made the stop even better was the service behind the bar. The employee taking our order and serving the sandwich was genuinely pleasant, attentive, and accommodating, offering great recommendations that made choosing easy and the experience even smoother. The sourdough was exactly how it should be: fresh, crisp, lightly toasted and sturdy enough to hold everything together. Inside, Calabrian deviled egg salad met a perfectly jammy egg, spicy mayo and peppers for a creamy, tangy kick with just the right amount of heat. Messy? A little. Worth it? Absolutely. This was a lip-smacking, reach-for-another-bite kind of sandwich. We didn't have time to dive into the beer selection, but there were plenty of tempting options. With its business-district location, this would be an easy stop after work for a cold brew and a seriously good sandwich. Quick stop. Great service. Killer sandwich. The Devil Made Me do it.

As I was walking towards the restaurant to pick up the sandwiches, I overheard a group of people eating their banh mi outside saying "wow, this is very delicious, this is the best banh mi I've ever eaten". That gave me high hopes and I was really excited to dig in. Upon walking in, it's a small restaurant with maybe 2 tables and no more than 4 chairs for each table and a huge kitchen. It tells me that most customers come in, grab their food, and go. Restaurant was clean and staff was friendly. I drove the sandwiches 40 minutes home before sinking my teeth in. After taking a bite of each banh mi, I have to say this is hands down the best banh mi I've ever eaten. The bread was soft and fluffy on the inside, packed with meat and toppings to the point that the mayo, pate, and sauces were oozing out. I expected the skin of the crispy pork to soft and soggy since the drive home took 40 minutes, but I was beyond shocked! The crispy skin stayed crispy and was able to hear the crunch with every bite. That's a huge plus for me. The flavor of the grilled chicken was excellent and chicken was moist and tender. For the classic, it's weird to say, but it's the best Vietnamese cold cuts I've ever eaten. What really shocked me in the end is that these banh mi ended up costing around $8-9 per sandwich, which is a steal as some places charge $10+ and the flavors are nowhere near carrot and daikon. Whenever I'm in town, I'll definitely need to stop by.

I was meeting my foodie friend there at 12:30. The parking lot has limited space, which made it an extra challenge to park. Thankfully I only had to circle the block once to come back and snag a spot. (Meanwhile, my friend got there before me and was already enjoying an appetizer). Orders are placed at the counter and they call your number once your food is ready. The dining room consists of mostly booth seating with one "communal" table, and counter seating with 5ish chairs. There are also a handful of tables set outside. I've really been enjoying banh mi and their Bulgogi beef sandwich sounded great. I also happen to have a thing for popcorn chicken, so I got an order of that to round out my lunch. Oh, and based on the rave reviews I've read about their peach & lychee green tea, I ordered one of those as well. Let me just say, lunch was very satisfying! The sandwich was generously filled the fresh ingredients and the meat to veggie ratio was perfect. I'm not sure what the green sauce was that they finished the sammie off with but it was SO tasty!! I requested the popcorn chicken with medium heat and it was just spicy enough to leave my tongue tingling slightly. My friend saved an egg roll for me and it was also really good. (The tea by the way was very refreshing.) Now, this was my first time here but I never saw anyone come out to check the dining room or wipe down the tables after the lunch rush. This was especially concerning to me because they had a guy doing work on the windows who put his feet/ shoes on the tables right under said windows. Ewww. But aside from the parking challenge and the table hygiene/cleanliness, our visit was quite enjoyable and the food was very good. We would definitely return, but we'll have to plan around the lunch rush!
