Bird-N-Bun is located in a business district and shares its kitchen with 25+ other small restaurants. One has to place and pay an order online and then one will receive a text when one's order is ready. The text also says not to go inside until you receive a text saying the order is ready and to just wait in the parking lot until such time. I wanted to see how this place stacks up to all the other fried chicken spots popping up so I went with some chicken tenders and a biscuit bird. Chicken Tenders ($9) - I probably should have gone with the spicy option as these tenders were a little plain to me in terms of taste. They also weren't that crispy. As for the size of the tenders, they were about the same size (big) as compared to some of the other popular fried chicken spots. For my sauce I went with bird sauce which was like some comeback sauce. Biscuit Bird ($5) - This consisted of a small fried chicken breast piece with mustard on a toasted honey butter biscuit. I was a little disappointed with the size and taste of this. The mustard definitely didn't go with the chicken. Overall I loved the efficiency of the ordering and pick up here. I thought the pricing for everything was the going market rate at other fried chicken spots. The chicken tenders here are big, but not so crispy and don't have much flavor. Came to this location for there Grand Opening Tuesday night around 7:15 p.m. I ordered off of yelp @7 p.m. I ordered the $5.00, Spicy Bird-Fried Chicken Sandwich, (fried chicken breast + spicy bird sauce + pickles on a brioche bun), I also added pepper jack cheese for an additional cost of $0.59 and a side of waffle fries for $3.99. So finding the place is a little complicated. It is located in a business area next to the Ice Skating arena. Parking is difficult to find as they have a lot of spots for no parking. I walked up to the door and saw you could scan for a QR code. I walked in and they had some tablets available to order if you didn't order ahead. They have two benches to wait for your food. Also have these spots to wait to go up to the counter. I went up to the counter and asked for my order. I was surprised when the young gentleman said what restaurant? I was confused because I didn't know they have several restaurants to pick up from this location. So I said, "Bird 'n Bun." He then asked for first and last name. So after the gave me my order I went out to my car to eat my meal. They give you cute paper bag that is stapled closed. My meal was ok for the price. The sandwich was very spicy but lacked sauce. The chicken was juicy and very spicy (coming from someone who loves spicy). My waffle fries were a different story. They came in a cup with one side of ketchup. 1st set was cold and hard to eat. So I went back to exchange them and my 2nd set was also hard and cold. Very disappointing for a $3.99 serving. It's like they have them already cooked sitting under a heating lamp. I have been searching for the best local chicken sandwich and this place is currently holding my number one spot. I have a few foods that I am always searching for the best and greatest in my area, and this is one of them. I have probably eaten my way through 10-15 chicken sandwiches in the last 6 months. Do yourself a favor and try this place out. I got the regular bird, fries and a biscuit and it was all great. Something to note is that the biscuits are sweet biscuits so if you're looking for a savory one- I'd skip. The size of the chicken wasn't big at all. The chicken also lacked flavor. Very bland. The sauce on the spicy sandwich was off putting it tasted like horseradish definitely wasn't expecting a taste like that on a chicken sandwich. And the sauce wasn't spicy just nasty. When we ordered it told us 30min. Yea well over a hour later was absolutely ridiculous. I've tried more than ten different chicken sandwich places and this place is the absolute best. What makes it the best for me is how juicy the chicken was. Every bite of the sandwich was very pleasant with a very crunchy but not overwhelming breading on the outside complemented perfectly with the juicy chicken on the inside. The buns were great as well. I don't know how to review it because there are some good and bad about their chicken sammie. Pros: Chicken is juicy not dry. Breading is not overly done like other chick sammie makers. The heat/spices used in the spicy sammie were good. The brioche bun was yummy. Cons: Breading/chicken needs some more flavor pretty bland. The spice was again good but overpowering and took away any taste from the chicken/breading. Need to find another pickle to include in this sammie it made the bread and breading soggy. Plus were the waffle fries a good addition with a good crunch. Minus the bird sauce not sure what you're going for but it's mustard taste is not a good topping for the fries or sammie. Nashville chicken sandwiches have been one of the trendiest foods lately. I Stumbled upon this place after seeing a Grand Opening ad on social media and they were offering special deals for opening day so why not check it out. Sure did not disappoint. We tried the spicy bird chicken sandwich which was packed in flavor. A lil too spicy for my liking. Wish there were more inside in the Sando but I guess I should've tried the deluxe with the coleslaw. Although everything was delicious and juicy. Wish it had more add ons inside of it. The 3 piece chicken tenders tho were soo good! I personally preferred this one over the sandwich. It's so plump and juicy. And their bird sauce was delicious. Similar taste to canes sauce. With so many chicken shops opening up it's hard to compete. But with quality and reasonable pricing, I'd recommend checking them out. Just take note, this place is not an actual restaurant. Really like the chicken sandwiches but for the price of 8.99 and up for a la cart with no dinning options and pretty much it's just pick up. Work on the pricing model. The portion of the chicken is great and pick up was easy, price point is off though, can get fries and a drink from a lot of other places for the price of just the chicken sandwich. The pick up is fine checked in on the tablets walked up front just someone handing me my food nothing special, if a robot was there wouldn't have been a better or worse experience I do think other sandwiches are better this is up there though, the "virtual restaurant " is cool but the app didn't work for the first couple of days no way to sign up , so while it's good a good sandwich there is still alot left to be desired. I normally never buy drinks besides McDonalds because it's $1, because I usually have drinks at home. I ran out of soda so I thought why not and got a soda here, the sizing says "regular" so I think oh it's probably just a 21oz "medium" like most places. Imagine my surprise when I see a can of soda in my bag. I paid $3 for a can of soda. I would not be mad if they made it clear on the website, because then that's my fault for paying $3 for a can of soda. Also, icing on the cake is that the front desk associates put the can inside the bag. And since most people do a mobile order, the bag will be waiting there for a good 5-10 minutes. What happens when you put cold drinks and hot food in a sealed area? Warm everything. Do better. read more

Over the last couple of months, I've had my fair share of fried chicken sandwiches. Like the other ones, Bird n Bun does have it's pros and cons. Let's start with the good! The sandwiches are a decent size and the ratio of the chicken patty to cole slaw and bread is good. The sauces are delicious and they have lots of options for fries - waffle and sweet potato are always my favs. The bun is also fresh, soft, and pairs well. On the other hand, their spicy chicken sandwich isn't that spicy - it's really just the sauce they throw on top that makes it spicy, similar to how the Popeyes chicken sando is. It's also a little on the saltier side, but not unbearably. Overall, not a bad sandwich! But with all the competition in the area, I definitely wouldn't make this a regular or go-to. read more

Bravo! Yelp suggested this place because of where I was and all I can say is "how have I not heard of this place!" This has to be one of my new favorite chicken sandwich places to eat. The chicken was thick and juicy. The spicy one definitely had a good balancing kick (which I really enjoyed) and I'm overall satisfied with my experience that I want to go again already! The only downside was that it was a little weird trying to find the "warehouse building" it's located in, but the place had several vendors and one checkout lines that you can order to go/pick up. The spiciness was good for me since I really like spicy food and finally found a place that actually has spicy chicken. The waffle fries were REALLY good. But the rest of the food was pretty underwhelming. There was seasoning on the top part of the chicken but that was it. It tasted like someone fried the chicken w/o seasoning & just sprinkled it on top. The sandwich had really soggy buttered buns & was sticky. Lastly the sauce itsnt that great. I was honestly craving some chick-fil-A on the lords day of rest and since they weren't available, Yelp helped me find this little gem and I couldn't be happier!! I ordered the Original chicken sandwich with French fries and it was DELICIOUS (better than chick-fil-A). Chicken is flavorful and juicy, that bird sauce is the perfect touch of flavor and the fries are good, but I heard the waffle fries are better so I'll definitely be trying those out next time! The ordering process is easy. You order online and you'll receive a text message giving you an estimated time for pick up and when it's ready. The interesting thing is the second text message you get when your order is ready, you'll also receive a "code" (Locker #) so when you arrive to the place, you'll park your car, walk inside and look for the lockers (right hand side towards the front counter) that has the code you were given and simply open the locker door and grab your food. It's located in a little industrial area towards the back by a skating arena. I didn't have any issues with parking when I went but I went on a Sunday afternoon around 6pm. Talk about a hole in the wall. Located in a warehouse/business center. It's designed to be a take-out spot so don't expect to go and dine-in. Place an order online is probably the way to go but I ordered inside on an iPad. Food took about 10 (maybe a few more) minutes and it was packaged to go and placed in a locker. The food is delicious!
