I was in the area and decided to stop by this spot without really looking too much into it. I was a bit short on time, and when it popped up nearby I figured it would be worth trying. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but it actually had a good amount of seating inside which was nice. I ordered one slider and one tender with fries. I got the slider Hot and the tender X-Hot. Surprisingly, I liked the Hot slider more than the X-Hot tender. The Hot had better flavor overall and seemed a lot juicier. The X-Hot definitely brought the heat, but the flavor on the Hot just stood out more to me. The kid working the counter was a little awkward, but still welcoming and helpful when taking my order. Overall it was a solid experience and the food was good. If I'm in the area again, I'd consider stopping by. Solid spot for a quick bite.
The thing about hot chicken places is that, when they work, they soar wonderfully, but when they fail, they fail spectacularly. It's very hard to get right the balance between being pulse-racing hot and cleverly delicious. You either lose the flavor in all that heat or you just don't bring it when it comes to the promise of burning you alive from the inside. I'm glad to say that Zecto's finds that balance. I was thoroughly impressed with how good (and big) the tenders were in their combos. Not only did the sting of some absolutely flaming chicken become noticeable in the first bite, but each belt was also noticeably scrumptious as well. The service was exemplary, as the workers had my back with refills, requests for honey, and to-go boxes. They also just had a pleasant and helpful demeanor when it came to interacting with them. Also, for a fast casual spot, the size was perfect. It had lots of tables for both two and four guests, and even accommodated our six person party admirably. I also thought the location had great parking and a drive-thru option, something you don't see often in the hot chicken game. All in all, this place was great if you want something other than the usual Dave's or Clyde's, and I think I'm a greater person for having eaten there. Like a great cyborg once said, I'll be back.

The guy who was at the counter let me know that everything was made to order and it would be a few minutes and it was worth the short wait. Their coating has a more dry crumbly feel but great flavor. The chicken inside is moist and juicy and the bun, pickles, slaw and sauce are great. Friendly service in a bright comfortable place. Definitely worth a visit.
We order the chicken sandwiches and Zecto fries and the sandwiches were extremely good and freshly made. The fries were also good but for me had too much sauce but my boys enjoyed them. The fries are so crispy and taste so good with the seasoning they put on. The service was very friendly and helpful. Ambiance was chill inside and they do have a tv showing the sports games. Parking is good and they do have a drive thru as well.

A little background for me when I first had Dave's hot chicken that was the first time I had fried chicken that really awakened something inside me a fried chicken fiend if you will. Ever since that day I've been chasing that same high and after all those years I thought maybe I would never get that same feeling again. That's until I had Zecto. The fried chicken here is something else it really helps that each item is made to order cause the freshness and crispness of the chicken is really something special. The seasoning on the fried chicken is almost like a layer of sauce with how well it is coated and the juiciness of the meat itself is divine. Yes it is on the pricey side but you can definitely taste the quality and to me that's worth it versus a commercialized taste that a lot of other fried chicken joints have fallen victim to. The service here is phenomenal I had multiple orders when I dined in here and each of those times we were given free items like extra sauce, waffles, cookies all free of charge which was really nice. Overall I HIGHLY recommend this place even if you aren't a fried chicken fiend this is just objectively delicious food that you won't be disappointed with. Thank you Zecto!

Its got the most flavorful hot chicken, I like all the different flavors they have for the zecto fries like teriyaki and mango habanero and omg its so good I've tried the tenders, sandwich, and the zecto fries and all 3 are the best! Prices are a little high, I like their combo deals, and their daily specials. Service is pretty fast and nice and the inside seating is also good too.
Okay this place was sooooo good! I got the regular mango habanero fries. It was amazing. The chicken was delicious, fries were seasoned perfectly and they were crispy and soaked up the sauce beautifully. Me and my girl went when they opened up at 11am. The building is small but they got some good amount of tables and service was fast since there was no one.
I Brought my son here because he's the one with the spiciness! He thought it was delicious. The service was OK and it was a little uncomfortable because we were the only ones in there but if you're looking for a good spicy hot chicken, it's a great place. More of a fast food place than a dine in setting.
A hidden gem, service was amazing and inside was very spacious. There were parking outside and it's in a brand new plaza. Their original fried chicken sandwich was on the bread was fried, but not too overbearing, and you still taste the meat which was very tender .

The chicken is the juiciest most tender chicken I have ever had. I got the spicy level and damn it was hot. It was a good spicy though the kind where you still wanna eat it even though it burns. So flavorful and goes super well with the comeback sauce and ranch. Price is decent and portion size is huge - I was stuffed with the 2 chicken tenders combo. The place is super clean and accepts credit card. Wayy better than daves hot chicken or raising canes. Like 1000x better.

my favorite hot chicken spot in oc! i came on a sunday around 4pm and there was no one inside. there's a good amount of seating and it's very clean! i saw that they also have a drive thru. we got combo #1 which is a sandwich and small order of zecto fries (both medium) and then a 3pc tender combo (mild). the sandwich and fries were very saucy, medium was a bit too spicy for us but the toppings definitely helped combat the spice! the tenders were the perfect spice level. still flavorful without being too spicy. the plain fries were also super yummy. i got them extra crispy! for sauces we liked the comeback sauce and honey the most. the ranch was just okay. overall very good! the man working was really nice and checked in on us a few times to make sure everything was okay. will definitely be coming back read more

I would have given 5 stars cause their services was sooo friendly, and establishment is nice and clean! Finding the spots easy and plenty of parking. Chicken is good quality and was tasty, heads up it is spicy but good! Only thing I didn't care for and don't recommend is the fries that comes with the sauce and chicken we got the combo and it was a bit much. If you're thinking about the Mac n cheese, yes 10/10 Also their cookies are good too and come warmed up! read more

Okay this place was sooooo good! I got the regular mango habanero fries. It was amazing. Tried zecto for the first time and it was a pleasant experience ! Very clean inside, and very nice and helpful employees. I got the 2 piece tender combo, which was tender and moist. The breading was different compared to other tender places so it was nice to try something new. There's a variety of sauces to pick from which complemented the meal and fries nicely. read more

Zecto Fries. I see no carbs! (: My son follows Zecto on Instagram because of Cal State Fullerton (IDK) but that kid said "Mom, Zecto has 50% of one item, lets go"! Let me tell you the fries are "Amazing"!!!! Zecto Fries are definitely something on that menu you need to order either to share or make it a meal, these are literally my favorite fries. I compare everything to them now. Seriously amazing, hands down. The sandwich was huge for me, or maybe the fries filled me up! Lol! I seriously could not get enough of them crinkle cuts! Okay, okay, service was great, the guys are super nice. Very patient with everyone and they are so sweet. They brought out a dessert for a guy sitting next to me and made him so happy! I've been coming here occasionally since they first opened. I love their chicken loaded fries with the mango habanero sauce. The fries are crispy, well-seasoned, and pair so well with the sauce I never needed ketchup. The chicken tenders are always crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and they're always huge. They have the regular restaurant vibe if you want to dine in, but they also have a drive through. The serves are friendly and service is efficient. They used to have a spicy challenge, but they changed it to a stop the timer challenge that you can try to win a prize. Overall, very solid place with good food and fun vibes. read more

I ordered the chicken Caesar salad with the chicken tossed in buffalo sauce. I also got the Sandwich combo with zecto fries tossed in the Korean sauce. The portion and pricing are decent. The chicken here is next-level -- crispy, juicy, and seasoned so well it made me question every other chicken I've ever eaten. The fries? Perfect. The sauces? Dangerous (in the best way). But what really makes this place stand out is Matthew. This guy has elite-tier customer service energy. I swear he could make the DMV feel like Disneyland. He remembers faces, cracks jokes, and somehow makes waiting for food actually enjoyable. Pretty sure he could talk a vegan into ordering a family combo. We have been coming here for over a year and my second to last time visiting, we had a very subpar visit. In fact it was bad, because of the customer service. The owner, Matthew, not only reached out but confirmed our experience was not good and our points of discontent were valid. But he offered us a chance to come back and when we visited, the employee who had been off that night was actually the guy who took our order. He recognized us immediately and apologized and the service was beyond anything we could have imagined. I told him this when leaving the restaurant but wanted to mention it here as well. Owning up to an unfavorable review and correcting it really time is a rare occurrence and I believe these guys have it down. Thank you! First time here today This has been on my list for awhile I have been missing out! From the moment we walked in the door until we left the employees were super friendly , helpful and welcoming. Aaron took our order and really knows the menu and was able to help us figure out the best combo for us. He checked on us several times offering refills and checking to see if we had everything we needed. The restaurant had ample seating and was very clean. Now on to the food! It was great. I am a Nashville Hot Chicken fan and have tried many places. This place was on par with my favorite place down the street. We had the Zecto fries and tenders combo. Delicious. The chicken was tender and juicy with just the right amount of heat. The Zecto fries were very tasty. Fries were topped with Nashville hot chicken bites, and Comeback sauce. Everything was served piping hot. We also had a chocolate chip cookie which had a wonderful amount of chocolate. We will definitely return. I'm so hyped I finally found Zecto Hot Chicken! Ever since my favorite spicy chicken spot in Tustin closed down, nothing has even come close to that kind of heat, but I'm honestly blown away because this tastes just like it...only better!!! I love that they hook you up with an extra piece of chicken in every combo, whether you want the tender and sandwich or just want the extra chicken loaded onto your fries. It's a little pricey, but for the quality and the amount of food you actually get, it's definitely worth it. So glad I found my new go to spicy chicken sandwich!!! read more
