Ono is located in a busy plaza that sort of shares parking with a hotel, though they are kept separate. It's near Disneyland and the place is always packed, but we always manage to find a parking spot. We've tried several other places in the place, but this was our first time at Ono. The restaurant was pretty much empty at 7:00 PM on a Saturday night when we went in, which didn't seem like a good sign, but it filled up shortly after. There was still plenty of seating. When I went up to order, the workers ignored me so I just put my order in through the touch pad. I ordered a seafood combo for myself, a chicken katsu mini meal for my +1, and a white fish keiki meal for my little. I also ordered drinks, but there was nobody to ask about getting cups, so we just waited. In retrospect, I should have just leaned over the counter and grabbed the ones we paid for. We waited about 15-20 minutes until we got our food and we were thirsty. We noticed a couple other people who ordered after us getting their food before us, but at least our food seemed freshly prepared. As for the quality of the food... My fish and shrimp were pretty good, if just a tad overcooked. My +1 said the same of her chicken katsu, and found that a couple pieces were just breading and didn't even have chicken in them. The keiki meal was a bit dry, just having a small scoop of rice, a couple pieces of broccoli, and a piece of fried fish. The sauces helped: katsu for the chicken, tartar sauce for the seafood, and teriyaki sauce for the vegetables and rice. The macaroni salad was a little bland but edible. I chose kalua pork and got the standard sides it came with. 2 scoops of rice, 1 scoop of mac salad, vegetables. You can customize it though. Next to the soda fountain machine are sauces such as teriyaki sauce, katsu sauce, hot sauce, soy sauce, etc. It seems like the food is made fresh because it took about 10-15 minutes for my food. Since I only eat a proper meal at lunch, both times it was my first meal of the day. I hadn't eaten anything else. It tasted good, but two or three hours later, my stomach started hurting, and I couldn't get up. The presentation was excellent and the neat little package didn't break apart when I ate it. Didn't think spam could be so good lol, but it was. The fire chicken was... fire (hehehe). There was an excellent ratio of meat and vegetables and the meat was seasoned really well. Hi, we are regular customers and come to this location often because we live down the street. Today we had a very uncomfortable experience with one of the cashiers, an older man we had never seen before. We ordered two plates, and for one of them I asked for no vegetables and extra rice. His response was, "it already comes with rice," and when I said that was fine because I just like rice, he suddenly raised his voice and said, "I don't care as long as you paid for it." It was said loudly and in a rude tone, which made us feel embarrassed in front of other customers.
