Good cheesesteak sandwiches, but the battered fries could be better--I thought they were good, wife thought they were so-so. Philly steak with mayo, tomato and lettuce was ver good. The kids enjoyed the bacon cheesesteak as well. My pepper and mushroom cheesesteak was good, but mushrooms looked like they came from a can. Great Flavor! Very tender and melt in your mouth juicy through and through. The Amoroso Rolls make a huge difference. Buns are stuffed so that you cant close them if you try you will split them in half. Wish i had room for another. Will have to try the pepper and mushroom next time. The Southwestern was excellent! So, this time round seemed to be a bit better. Staff was much friendlier than 2 years ago this time of year and the subs and fries seemed to be better. We got the ranch fries this time. They were not battered and were really good. I would highly recommend them. The subs still kinda lacked a little in flavor to me but they were really full. We got 2 12in. subs, one Philly steak with onions and one with mushrooms, peppers and onions and mine was so full I ate a lot of the toppings with a spoon. One 12in was enough for me and 2 toddlers to make 2 meals for all of us. Was nice too that they didn't charge me for the ranch. It was pricey for lunch but it ended up being 2 lunches for us all so $35 went a long way. AND, people have been much nicer this year so far. Apparently they got the memo that this is the BEACH! My family vacations to Corolla every year and this is a favorite of everyone's! While we live in Indianapolis, my husband is a Pennsylvania native and will report these are as good as the real deal in Philly! I'm also partial to the cheese fries! We went to Philly steak subs to get a few sub sandwiches so we could have a relaxing lunch on the beach. We ordered two of the same subs one WITH tomatoes and one WITHOUT tomatoes. They don't have a variety of ingredients. How does a sub shop not have cucumbers or red onion?!?! We also ordered a regular philly cheese steak and a veggie sub. Ordered the whiz with 12" steak sub...service and atmosphere was excellent, however the sub itself was mediocre. It was fresh but had very little flavor to the meat. Tasted like greasy shaved steak with a little cheese whiz on it. Maybe I just didn't order a good one but my initial impression is "meh". read more

Philly Sub was not good meat was bland and cheap lettuce not good fries taste like they are out of your frozen food section staff was friendly and did receive good service .My daughter (14) got a cheeseburger she said it wasn't bad so if you need a quick meal for the kids it's not bad prices are fair . read more

First and foremost, I love Philly. I'm a die hard Eagles guy. I've had a steak from every joint there, the good and the bad. Sadly, this ain't even as good as Pats... unless you count the SB52 banner on the wall. if you're going to eat here, eat there because if you leave that steak wrapped up for more than a minute it's going to be a soggy pathetic mess. I have a culinary degree with Honors and, no joke, these are the best damn Philly subs I've had outside of Philadelphia. Anyone who says otherwise obviously doesn't know what a REAL Philly is supposed to taste like. Sure the games inside are outdated, but are you really going to go to a Philly Sub place to play video games, or to get some great food? I did see a fly or two in there, but I also saw the guy who held the front door open for five or six minutes and let them both in. All I care about is that the food is great, the service is done with a smile (unless you are being a difficult customer), and the portion sizes are fantastic. I would definitely recommend this place (and I do quite often) to anyone who wants an awesome Philly. read more

Called an order over the phone for two Italian subs and the worker kept repeating it back to me incorrectly. I kept giving her the correct order for 2 Italian subs like six times. I had a feeling she was going to mess it up. I arrive and they gave me two cheesesteaks and the owner or worker had the nerve to imply I ordered incorrectly through her questioning. I only eat italian subs! The service was terrible. I should've known that seeing the word cheesesteak in a store in North Corolina should have been a no, no. Being actually from Philly, we decided to give this place a try. Got the standard 'wiz with' to see what is the deal with the high rating on yelp. Steak was heavy on gravy, it was too salty and reminded me of eating a cheap Arby's steak sandwich, it was equally disgusting and IMHO, injustice use of Philly references. Also there is a snark remarks signs everywhere! Word of advice, there is no need to yell and reprimand your customers! That is not how you should treat customers that pays you. read more

Never made it to the counter. From the door, customers are assaulted by rude signs, posing as humor? $1charge for using a credit card, no water served in cups, no outside food allowed inside. We snuck away from our beautiful beach house to gorge on these fab subs. Interior is a bit dark and appears a bit dingy (although not dirty!) but the subs did not disappoint. They use Amoroso rolls straight from Philly, which really make the sandwich great. Nice amount of cheese, perfect grilled onions. Loved the fries with cheese whiz too! Crispy and delish! The sandwiches are cooked to order so they take a little while to come out, but they are definitely worth the wait.
