Two Philly natives were skeptical about ordering steaks from this place because many have tried and failed to produce the right tasting sandwich but I am happy to report that these cheesesteaks were delicious. I would have given five stars all the way but the sandwiches are small (approximately 6 inches to 8 inches sandwiches compared to our 12-inch rolls) and $5 more than what we pay but this sandwich was well seasoned, soft roll, and the right cheese availability. I asked for mayo on my roll but there was none. I enjoyed it and would buy another as well as recommend it if you are in the area. read more

Let me start off by saying, the staff was amazing, super pleasant and accommodating! This is a cute grab n go location, with some outdoor seating available. Ordered a chicken Philly steak, no cheese for my partner, extra mushrooms, he really enjoyed it. I ordered the salmon Philly cheese steak, with provolone cheese. This is my second time visiting this business just a different location! I've been to The Chattahoochee location at the works last year for the first time! The Cheesesteak was so delicious that it blew my mind! This time I'm reviewing the location in Kirkwood area on Glenwood in Eastlake right across from the Publix building.Recent grand opening on the Super Bowl day! We have another official Cheesesteak place on the east side! I got a chicken cheesesteak this time and a salmon eggroll and onion rings with a water ice! I ate my eggroll in my car its like Chinese Restaurant style. I also ate the onion rings in my car I didn't have lunch at work today so no pics of those items. Philly G Steaks - SkyView Atlanta is basically a food truck that sits under the SkyView ferris wheel in downtown Atlanta, GA across from Centennial Olympic Park. The staff was really friendly and took my order right away. Everything here is cooked to order so it's very fresh. I asked for extra, extra onions and then when the cook was done, I asked him to please add more onions to what he thought was extra, extra onions. I like onions, what can I say? I also asked for cheese whiz, but this location does not carry cheese whiz, only their main location does, which baffled me a bit. The sandwich was fresh and hot but had minimal onions. The bread was fresh. The American and provolone cheese was either melted into the sandwich or noticeably light. If I wasn't from Philly, I would probably rate Philly G Steaks with 5 stars, but not having cheese whiz and with little to no onions I feel compelled to give 4-stars. If I come back and they have 'whiz' I would probably give them 5 stars next time. read more

Philly G Steak is great find! It's right next to the Atlanta Skyview. There menu isn't large but the two items we tried were great. The cheesesteak was filled with steak, cheese, bell peppers and mushrooms. It was so yummy and the price was pretty reasonable. I believe the cheesesteak is $14 and the chicken Philly is $13. The chicken Philly wasn't as rich in flavor but my husband still enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and they had a nice seating area. We went on a Friday at 6ish and it was empty (I assume this is a rare situation but we lucked out). The food only took ten minutes to come out too. I would definitely recommend! read more

As someone from Philly, I've got high standards for a cheesesteak. The meat, the bread, the cheese - they all gotta be right. Came in on a weekday for lunch and was surprised to find that this place hits all the marks. They're using Amoroso bread, thin sliced sirloin and they offer cheese whiz (it's a thing) and provolone. Topped it with onions and hot peppers and served it super hot. Owners were super friendly, from Philly, and seem like they really care about their food. While I ate at their new location at The Works, it was unimpressive. My partner and I split one ribeye steak and one chicken steak. The meat, in both cases, was under-seasoned. It also took 18 minutes from order time until we got our food. $37 for two sandwiches (not including a drink) would not have even raised an eyebrow if it had been a great sandwich...but it wasn't. I ordered a chicken philly , NO MAYO ( I said several times ), extra cheese , light peppers , light onions . As a transplant from Philly and a lover of cheesesteaks, I was excited to try this place; however, the experience was disappointing. To be fair, in the end I have to give the cheesesteak itself 4 stars. It was well seasoned with a fair portion of meat. The Amaroso bread was spot-on, though just a touch stale (but I recognize the challenge of having fresh bread from Philly in Atlanta). It was good cheesesteak - though NOT the best in Atlanta. On the downside (1) the price - at $15.99 for a sandwich and chips, it is costly for what it is, (2) I think I can speak for everyone under age 80 when I say that 8 oz soda bottles shouldn't exist, and paying $2.00 for an 8 oz Diet Coke is insulting in terms of price and annoying in terms of quantity. But lastly, (3) after ordering and paying for my sandwich and being told it would be 15-20 minutes, I returned 15 minutes later to discover they had run out of steak and were waiting on more to be delivered. I got my sandwich a solid 45 minutes after I ordered it. This food stall sells three things - philly cheesesteaks, chicken phillys, and beverages. How do they run out of steak at 2:00 pm on a Sunday?
