The first time to eat this place. I really enjoyed that place so much and I was very impressed with the quality of food there as well. I liked servers who were really friendly and helpful. Very highly recommended!!

Clean place, friendly staff. Ordered the short ribs, I felt the meat was not up to par, even l&l had better tasting short ribs work better quality meat. Even the eggrolls weren't that great. We ordered grilled chicken but instead brought out shaking beef. Didn't want to make a big deal so we just accepted it. The dish was just ok. The meat was too well done. Can't say I would come back nor would I recommended thus place if you want decent vietnamese food.

I used to frequent Phanh Ky in Bellaire area but haven't recently so I decided to check out this Katy location when I was in the area last weekend. I got the hu tieu mi noodle bowl, and my husband got the bo luc lac rice dish. The beef in the bo luc lac dish is amazing! Very tender and well seasoned. There's also several cloves of garlic mixed in with the beef, and a side of salad with dressing (vinaigrette soy sauce). I was really impressed. My hu tieu mi noodle soup was okay, the broth was great but the meat was a little dry for my preference. I do like that they steamed the bean sprouts. The service was phenomenal though! We were checked on multiple times, and food came out really fast.

This place opens at 9am. 9am yall. It's the only place around there that opens that early which is perfect when I have a 10pm appointment. Food was hot, plenty of veggies. My dry noodles were a little saucy but I had ample vegetables to coat it out. Bread was hot and crispy and delicious with the condensed milk.

Their spring rolls were great! They come with a dipping sauce Im not used to and I dont k own whats in it except greatness. The rest of our food didnt wow any of us. Not bad, but also not great. The reason this restaurant has more than 3 stars is because our server was fantastic, he was funny, quick-witted, super smiling. The restaurant itself is in an Asian shopping area thats loaded with restaurants all around it in a new "strip-mall" like setting. There isn't much character to the restaurant but it is clean.

Love the flavors of the soup! It's different from your typical pho, a little sweeter? But still delicious! the bread is so yummy with the soup, side soup or the condensed milk! Super fast service and comes out hot! Chill vibes!

Seafood broth is so good, the egg noodles goes good with it, and the spring rolls are really good!!!

When it's packed and everyone is viet....you know it's legit. Or when people are fighting over the bill at the register. Well, if you're from houston....you already know.

Phanh Ky at this location is slightly smaller but cleaner. I prefer this location to the one at Chinatown because the staff here are better in communicating. Staff were friendly and service was fast. I had A1 Chinese fried breadstick for starter, and my main was S4 Dry Clear Rice Noodle and Thick Egg Noodle. The fried breadstick was crispy, and when paired with condensed milk, it was yummy. My dry noodles came with a bowl of broth and a spare rib in it. The broth was flavorful. The noodles were tasteless. The sauce was savory but slightly too salty. When mixed well, the bland noodles, and bland ingredients like the sliced pork and pork liver tasted flavorful. The appetizer and noodle portions were small. For most people, one bowl of noodles wouldn't be enough. I would visit again when I have craving for the sauce since it was the sauce that made the difference in the bowl of noodles.

Very good noodle soup here! The toppings, broth, service, and noodles were superb! I loved their chili oil/sauce too that you can ask for! The smaller size was very filling, I could barely finish mine. I'd come back!

The beef noodle soup was good! Their broth is not like the same as bone-broth based Pho... this has fried onions that add flavor The only thing I would've changed is the bean sprouts serve on the side; they give cooked ones instead of fresh, which I prefer. I ordered the signature Shaking Beef to go, and I will update as soon as I try it

I really enjoy the dry soft noodles at Phanh Ky Asian Noodle House. The delicious sauce combined with crispy dried shrimp, along with a variety of rich toppings like pork, shrimp, and liver, makes for a delightful meal. Additionally, the side bowl of soup enhances the overall taste. The restaurant also offers noodle soup.

I've ordered several times with delivery - never disappointed, great food and appetizers. I highly recommend either the grilled short rib or the grilled chicken plates - literally the best. It comes with a soup and if you pair with the breadsticks - perfect.

This place delivered where it mattered most, especially with the highly reviewed appetizers. Probably one of my favorite drinks here was the Thai Green Tea. It has a really interesting flavor that stands out from regular Thai Tea -- more earthy, but not quite like matcha (we guessed there might be pandan in it). Just a heads up: it's definitely on the sweeter side. My partner and I actually let the ice melt a bit before continuing to drink it, which helped balance things out. I came back a second time and still loved it just as much. The dipping sauce felt like a truly authentic representation of Vietnamese cuisine. It was a lightly diluted fish sauce with spicy red pepper and plenty of garlic -- simple but really flavorful. I also appreciated that the table setup let you customize it to your taste. In my first experience here, we ordered the Bánh Xèo, Bánh Khọt, and Bánh Bột Chiên. I was hands down a huge fan of the ginormous Bánh Xèo -- crispy, flavorful, and just overall my favorite (though I'll admit I'm a little biased toward it already). Meanwhile, my boyfriend completely fell in love with the crunchy Bánh Khọt. That said, I did notice a slight graininess in the Bánh Khọt, which took away a few points for me. The Bánh Bột Chiên was solid and got a pass from us, but it wasn't our top pick -- mostly because we've had better versions elsewhere. Other worthy notes: the herbs were fresh and crisp, and the pickled vegetables were refreshing as well (though my boyfriend thought they could've been a bit more strongly pickled). Eating everything the traditional way -- wrapping it in lettuce with herbs -- made the whole experience even better. Honestly, I would come back just to order two Bánh Xèo. I actually came back a second time before posting this review, this time with my family. We ordered the Bắp Xào, Cơm Chiên Bò Lúc Lắc, and a simple rice dish. This visit was a bit different -- across the board, we all agreed the dishes leaned too salty this time around. I could also tell the staff was overwhelmed, with only two people handling both the front and the kitchen, so it was tough to get their attention at times. That said, the Bánh Xèo still held its ground. My parents were genuinely impressed by the size, and for me, it's still an absolute banger -- something I'd come back for again and again purely for flavor and value. The Bắp Xào really stood out to me in a nostalgic way. I loved the use of traditional Vietnamese corn, and the sautéed dried shrimp brought back memories of flavors from dishes I grew up eating, even if I couldn't quite pinpoint which one. While my mom thought it was too salty, I actually felt like it would pair perfectly with a bowl of plain white rice. I also tried some of my brother's Cơm Chiên Bò Lúc Lắc and found the beef to be tender and flavorful, though not particularly standout compared to other places. I've had very similar versions nearby, but it's still my brother's go-to -- though I suspect that might also be his way of loading up on protein. Overall, even with the inconsistency during the second visit, I still really enjoy Yummy Quan -- especially for the appetizers. It's a place I'd bring family and friends to try, and I'm still curious about more of the menu... but realistically, I could live life on Bánh Xèo alone. At the end, you also get to grab some guava candy, and for anyone who's never had these, don't forget to pick some up -- they're simply delectable!

We saw on the door that they're BYOB? Thai Green Tea (4.5/5): Really sweet but with some pretty unique grassy/herbal notes! (Pandan??) Would recommend if they can adjust the sweetness down a notch. We let the ice melt a bit and it made for a great palatte cleanser. Banh Xeo (4.5/5): Definitely one of their signature dishes. I read the reviews on how large it was and it was still shocking! See my hand for reference. It's crispy and delicious. Two downsides: Not enough protein, and not enough lettuce to make wraps with how big it is. But overall, definitely one of the best I've had outside of homemade. Banh Khot (4/5): These little flavor explosions are a perfect bite size and are also a signature dish. Would definitely recommend. A few of ours were light on the pork. Banh Bot Chien (3.5/5): I was dying to try this since there is really one famous spot for it. Their version is very good, but misses on the crispiness. The inside texture and pairing sauces and radish were all very good, it just needed a little more crisp. I love that they give extra garlic and spice and basically let you customize the intensity of your fish sauce to your preference. Paid with no issues via inKind at the counter. We definitely left stuffed and would come back!

We got the roti canai and salt and pepper calamari as appetizers, and the sizzling tofu, beef rendang, CK teow as entrees. - Sizzling tofu (6/5): A MUST TRY! I've never had tofu with this texture before. The outside is slightly crisp and the inside so light and fluffy, it feels like bitting into a cloud. The tofu tastes like a creamy egg soufflé and the sauce is savory and salty with pieces of sauté onions that add a nice crunch. The presentation was also very striking with the server pouring the sizzling sauce over the tofu. It's just such a beautiful dish that I would go back solely for! - Beef rendang (4.5/5): Overall a delicious and hearty dish. The beef was very tender and juicy, and there was a generous amount of it. The potatoes soaked up the sauce very well and made the dish extra filling. I forgot if we got to pick a spice level, but the dish had a nice kick to it and wasn't overwhelming spicy. - "CK teow" char kway teow (4/5): This dish had a lovely char tasted to it that made it very addictive. Just a nice savory noodle dish. I think my only complaint was that the portion was on the smaller side - Salt & pepper calamari (3.6/5): This was a pretty good calamari. The calamari had a light and crispy exterior and was pretty tender and seasoned really well. The chunky veggies were a nice touch texture wise. - Roti Canai (3.6/5): the Indian bread was so nice and flakey, I could've eaten it alone. The curry was also really tasty and flavorful, just a little bit watery. Service/ambiance: Service was excellent and they gave us so much rice. The restaurant was dimly lit, giving it a nice ambiance for dinner or a date night.

Service was prompt and quasi friendly. I thought the broth was good despite having an overwhelming aroma of cinnamon. I requested for pho tuoi (fresh noodles) which are slightly bigger than the standard noodles they give you. However, I regretted this choice because many of my noodles were clumped together, distracting from the overall enjoyment of the meal. Additionally, I think there's a heavy usage of MSG in their broth because I felt loopy and very thirsty for water halfway through. Needless to say, I was only able to eat half of the generous serving. For those who are a fan of pho and appreciate generous portions, this place is definitely worth a visit. Their pho bowls are substantially larger than those I've encountered elsewhere, offering a potentially satisfying experience for the more voracious diner but for me, quantity is not enough of a reason to become a regular. At first it was just us and one other table, but not long after, more people started coming in, probably for lunch as well. The restaurant is pretty large, with both tables and booths, plus a big table for large groups. This is what we ordered: Combo Rolls This comes as a sampler with five different types of spring rolls. Regular spring rolls, nem nuong rolls (fermented grilled pork), grilled chicken, grilled pork, and shrimp only. I really liked this idea because it lets you try everything without having to order each roll separately. My favorite was the nem nuong roll. Bun Bo Hue I do not eat pork blood or pork loaf, so I substituted them with more tendon and beef meatballs. Because of that, I cannot really comment on how the pork tasted. The broth was okay but a little lacking in flavor. After I asked for shrimp paste, it tasted much better. Bo Kho (Beef Stew) This is my husband favorite dish, so he always orders it whenever a place has it. He ordered the one come with bread as dipping. He did not really like this one. It was not bad, but not great either. The flavor was missing, and the broth was more watered down than how he prefers it. Still, it is worth trying if you like beef stew. Overall, our experience was just okay. The service was fine, but the food did not leave a strong impression on us. We did not stay long since my husband had to get back to work. I would come back to try more dishes, especially pho. Since their name is Pho Guru, I feel like the pho might be better. My husband ordered the pho and ended up emptying two bowls of chili sauce into it -- and it was still on the mild side. Flavorful, yes. Spicy, not so much. If you love heat, you'll want to BYO fire.
