    Oxtail dinner

Call before you come because they sometimes run out of oxtail. Small restaurant but has outside and inside seating. Delicious flavour and great portions! Have come here many times and always receive warm and prompt service.

This. Is. My. Favourite. Jamaican. Restaurant. In. Greater Vancouver. 'Nuff said. Growing up in Toronto, I was spoiled with an abundance of delicious Afro-Caribbean cuisine, but found that there were slim pickings in Vancouver. A friend of mine who grew up in Jamaica recommended PGs and I haven't looked back since. PGs is located in Downtown White Rock. There is limited parking directly out front, however there is plenty of street parking close by. The interior is quite small, with only a few tables, but the decor is bright and tropical. It reminded me of one of those cute beach hut bars in the Caribbean. Their menu consists of authentic, home-cooked style Jamaican cuisine, with popular dishes like jerk chicken, Jamaican patties, marinated oxtail, and roti. I've personally tried their jerk chicken entree which came with coconut infused veggies and rice, as well as an assortment of their Jamaican patties. Their jerk chicken wings are also a great appetizer, jam packed with flavour. Everything I've tried from here has been amazing. The flavours, the spices, the quality... I have zero complaints. Service has always been extremely friendly. I always feel like I'm walking into a friend's home when I come here. If you're looking for authentic Jamaican cuisine, PGs is your place!

Goat curry pungent tasty generous serve with red rice and beans and a warm veggie medley made us Happy Happy. Friendly. Local. Quintessential MOM N POP restaurant experience. Quality Value Clean Caring. Daily SPECIALS for extra value. Highest recommendations Five full stars.

The food was probably microwaved, with weak flavours. The goat and oxtail was on the cold side. They looked like they were sitting on the plate quite a while. It also took a long time for the food to come out. Portion size, for the price, absolutely far from being generous. I haven't felt so ripped of in a long time. There were zero customers there and zero other customers while we ate at the patio. Only tried this place because of all the five star reviews. Totally disappointed. Will not return. The service, considering we were the only customers there, was totally lacking.

We come here for the patties! They serve them warm or frozen. We opted for the frozen this time and weren't disappointed. We ordered 6 beef and 6 chicken. The beef was a little under seasoned for me, however the flavors are spot on! The chicken is amazing. The curry has the right amount of spice and the filling is the perfect amount for the crust. Just like Toronto but closer !

I found this place on Yelp and have been dying to try Jamaican food. This place is a little hidden, it's tucked right in the corner. My best friend and I asked for recommendations and were told that the jerk chicken, oxtail stew, brown stew chicken/beef were customers' favourites. Ecstatic, I ordered the brown stew beef as the owner said it wasn't too spicy and my friend ordered the jerk chicken, the owner warned her in advance about the spice. We ordered for take out and made small talk with a very friendly regular. The aroma of the food was hitting us like a brick on the drive home. We couldn't wait to dig in. My brown stew beef wasn't spicy at all, more salty if anything. My friend's jerk chicken wasn't spicy at the least either. I felt the rice lacked flavour. I definitely wanna give this place another try because the owners seemed so genuine. I was initially going to order the oxtail stew, I'll give that a try next time!

Truly authentic Jamaican cuisine. Not much for ambience but who cares? The food is delicious.

I'd always wanted to try Mofongo so that was an easy decision (ordered with pork); we also ordered the pernil sandwich with tostones. Both were super tasty and we scarfed it all down. (Thus no pictures...) Word of warning (such as it is): BIG garlic flavor, which we loved, but be warned that you will have some serious dragon breath afterwards for hours Food was reasonably priced for the quality and portions. I'm not sure what the price complaints are about? Great atmosphere, lovely people and delicious food. Do check them out when you're in Fairhaven.

First time for us at a Puerto Rican restaurant so we weren't sure what to expect. The location is a good part of town and the restaurant was nice and cozy. Little bit chill though. They for sure weren't running the heat much. Service was helpful and kind but getting our food was quite slow. They did apologize with the reasoning being only had 1 cook. I can appreciate that but when you're out for one of the busiest restaurant nights of the year, you should be expecting a busy night and be staffed appropriately.

Still amazing flavours, great prices and amazing personality owner and chef Tommie. The instant you get there you feel like you are reuniting with a friend after so many years!tp I didn't get to take a photo of our food cause we devoured it pretty quick, but we shared a chicken jerk burrito and their Jamaican beef patty, which is one of their new products that they introduced. We also got the pineapple lemonade and mango iced tea. Everything was so good! The jerk was flavorful and the spice slowly kicked in each time we ate. But that is what Jamaican food is all about! I loved everything about it and you must check out this gem in CLOVERDALE on Fridays and Saturdays

On one occasion, we also drove there in person and no one had come out to the area (a little industrial and deserted). When we finally got an order through one day - we had gotten the Jamaican jerk beef burrito (so spicy!), Jamaican jerk chicken burrito (my favourite), Jamaican jerk chicken nachos (not quite what we expected - Doritos and cheese) and Jamaican strawberry lemonade. It was an okay meal overall and maybe we were just unlucky with our ordering dilemma but you can tell he does have happy customers so I would try again but maybe not in a total heartbeat. EDIT: sorry forgot to add - I did really enjoy the chicken burrito! It was filling and seemed like different seasoning/spice than the beef and paired very well with the mango peach salsa. I'd recommend that for your next choice!
