    Chicken taco ($7)
    C. H.

If you are craving some authentic Caribbean flavours, definitely give this place a try! I found this place thanks to Yelp and have been meaning to stop by. They are only opened on Fridays and Saturdays. The owner was enthusiastic and passionate about his food and job. We were greeted to his enthusiasm right away and our child was treated to a strawberry lemonade on the house. We ordered a few items: beef burrito ($11), chicken taco ($7) and beef taco ($7). This is a take-out set up so we ate out of the trunk of our SUV. It would be great if there can be tables and seating set up one day for more space to dine and enjoy the food. Food arrived after a short wait. It was amazing - fully loaded with meat and flavour! I could barely finish the chicken taco. I have the beef taco packed for my next meal. The meat has a bit of heat so I really enjoyed it. The flavours are top-notch if you ever tried jerk cooking. I have eaten jerk chicken in Jamaica and this jerk chicken is better than what I have eaten during my travels. There was a side of mango salsa, but I did not find it necessary as the taco was so tasty already. The strawberry lemonade had fresh slices of strawberry and was nicely sweetened. My child loved it.

Don't let the location throw you off! Down at the bottom of 180th (for now) setup like a street truck, without the truck, on the grounds of Cloverdale Community Church. Just a table under an awning beside a smoker. I was meaning to try this place after seeing a sign in the Republica coffee shop in town. So glad I finally made it! Get Chicken or Beef(or both) Burritos, Tacos or Nachos with iced tea or lemonade. The pictures speak for themselves. Likewise for the flavour. Loaded with juicy, flavourful chicken and a side of mango salsa. The owner, likewise, is welcoming and engaging - even when he's short staffed and constantly going. Just awesome! The only downside is that they are only open on Friday and Saturday from noon to 8pm. Try them out!

Even thou we went during the lunch rush the food came out quickly. If you are looking for Jamaican food this is the place to go!

The restaurant is at King George Blvd. and 108 but you cannot access the restaurant from the main…read moreroad since there is an iron railing circling around the outer edge of the sidewalk and you cannot enter from King George so you have to access the restaurant by driving around the back. It is a very small restaurant. The front has a very nice Caribbean vibe with Caribbean music, grass fronds over the bar and Caribbean posters. It has a very nice island vibe and could put you in a holiday frame of mind. There was only 1 table in the front of the restaurant that was not a high top. The back of the restaurant had a couple of booths but it seemed very dark back there. They also had a couple of tables set up outside but they were not conducive to what we wanted as they overlooked the parking lot and King George Blvd. When we arrived there were no customers dining inside and the staff was at the back of the restaurant. We waited and waited and finally my husband shouted "hello". We were told to take a seat and someone would be with us shortly. Again we waited and waited. I was tempted to get up and leave but my husband said he really wanted to try the food. Finally a waitress appeared. They did not have many of listed drinks available. I asked for white wine, Bacardi breeze, and a mango drink. None were available. My husband had a ginger beer and I finally settled on a pineapple drink (in a bottle) and water. Our server was not particularly helpful. The menu that is shown on their website is outdated. They do not offer the smaller portions anymore and the prices are higher than they show on their website. We both had spicy beef patties ($4,00 vs $3.75 on website) . They were delicious. The pastry was nice and flakey and the filling was hot and nicely seasoned. For entrees I had oxtail ($21.00 vs $19.75 on website). My husband had the jerk pork. Both of our meals were very good and the serving sizes were generous. My oxtail was delicious. The gravy and carrots with the oxtail were very good. My husband enjoyed the jerk sauce that was served with his pork. Both entrees came with a dumpling, macaroni and rice and peas. I notice that the reviews on their website are also outdated. All are reviews from 2019. I think that Di Reggae is more interested in take out customers than walk in clientele. Although we really enjoyed the food it is unlikely that we'll return. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and has a great island theme but we honestly felt like we were imposing on the staff by taking a table and wanting to eat in. Maybe we should try Riddim and Spice as other reviewers have mentioned

I spent most of my adult life living in Toronto where riding the subway is a way of life…read more Sometimes, I got lucky where a bakery is in the station and I could easily get a Jamaican patty to snack on. I had a few friends who brought me some from their favourite bakeries too. When I moved back to the West Coast, I missed those patties (amongst other Toronto eats.) And that's why I was so glad to find Morgan's Harbour was just around the corner from my home offering authentic Jamaican patties. They're currently supplying groceries around the Lower Mainland and seem to just started their their retail business up and running. They're open for pick-up on Mondays and Fridays only. I emailed them my request to order 1 dozen spicy beef patties for $32.50 and the following day, Friday, they confirmed that I can pick-up my order. Payment can be done by cash or etransfer to their published email address. Pick-up was at their factory at an industrial area in PoCo. (Almost missed it as the door wasn't labeled - kinda comical, actually!) The patties were frozen and had instructions on how to heat it. We were so excited to try it that we just popped them in the microwave. The crust was so flaky and the finely minced beef was so flavourful with the right proper spices to make me want to keep on eating! These patties are much better than my TTC patties! I'm ordering more next time and sharing them with my family!

Other than that, no one really checked up on us though some people (owners? employees?) did walk by. Food was tasty though we both found the jerk chicken and shrimp salty (it was a bit spicy for me but that's just my tolerance). For around $25 for my dish after tax and tips, I can't say I left completely satisfied. I like supporting local businesses and would recommend trying though!

I really wanted to love this place more then I did. I originally just wanted a Coco bread and patty…read moresandwich. However, it appeared you could not put the two together when ordering and the server (I think) was extremely nice but she had to go back and ask with every order. It was weird since it showed on the website you could get a beef patty and coco bread. In the end I ended up getting a patty in a coco bread but it was so complicated to order. My husband got the same thing and an order of Johnny cakes with the Mango butter. The best thing about the whole experience was the Johnny Cakes and the mango butter. It was truly the mango butter that had me bring a smile to my face. If I could, I would of slathered the whole butter in the Johnny cakes. When it comes to the beef patty, my husbands was warm yet mine was ice cold in the middle. Clearly microwaved I would assume. In the end it was just an okay experience if that. I would like to see more consistency with the menu and the knowledge of it and the promise of fresh made food being true. It sure didn't taste like that with the patty.
