The order took a while compared to other kitchens. The food when I picked it up was warm on the bottom. When I dug in the middle was cold and icy. As I already left the area, I wrote to them later that evening. No response. I reheated the food next day and freezed the 2nd entree. The food tasted weird and I didn't feel well. I wrote to them again. No response. I finally threw out the 2nd entree from the freezer today. Are you serious. I like spices and I like vegetarian. For a pickup/delivery service, I understand one works with x margins. This is unacceptable. Esp. when I see you do prepackage foods.

Ambiance: N/A Service: 1/5…read moreFood: 3/5 Let me start off by saying that I really wanted to like this place - Kula is a family-owned plant-based food spot operating out of the Coho Commissary so I was excited to find them on the Too Good to Go app to try! Given that they operate out of a commissary there is no actual storefront, you're supposed to give their number a call and they will meet you at the door with your order. Seems easy enough but this wasn't the case. The first time I went I had to call 3 times before someone answered - an older lady who didn't seem to have heard of the Too Good to Go app at all. She transferred me to a younger lady who came down with my order. For this bag I got BBQ sauce and a pack of their Spicy Chick-Un Stew. I really liked the stew but found that every time I ate it it gave me a really bad stomachache. I decided to give them one more try a few months later again. The pickup window was from 1-3:15 PM so I showed up around 1:10. I gave them a call 4 times and each time was sent to their voicemail. I had to resort to calling another business in the same commissary who was kind enough to let me know that it doesn't look like they are in today but said that she would double check. 10 minutes went by and I didn't hear back but just as I was about to leave a man came down with my order. I didn't receive an apology or explanation for why they did not answer their phone nor was he overly friendly, he simply handed me the bag and walked back in. The bag contained a jar of hot sauce and 2 packaged items - one having potato salad and rice and the other having potato salad and macaroni with minimal flavour. The potato salad was okay but the rest were not good. Overall, I'm disappointed that this place was a let-down (I had read great things in other reviews about their service specifically and did not experience the same on both occasions) and will not be trying them again.

I don't even eat bacon, but if I did. I wouldn't eat what was served to me. However I'm not giving up on this place just yet because my family owned a small restaurant so I can understand the struggle and I don't mind supporting small local businesses. The chicken and waffle that was made to-go looked decent. Next time I'll give it a try seeing that I'll be returning for an appointment nearby.

Foodies on Board is an unassuming all day brunch restaurant serving sous vide poached eggs, in house protein (bacon, ham and Italian sausage) and focuses on a healthier way of cooking. To start off, these healthy pancakes tasted great. Every bite had a nice aroma from the caramelized milk and you get the texture from the shredded coconut along with chia seeds. What made it even better was the maple syrup and chocolate hazelnut drizzle! As for the texture, the pancakes were a touch dense as the only leavening agent was whipped egg whites, which I personally did not mind since flavours and textures can be different compared to what we are used to when we use natural food products. SOUS VIDE POACHED FREE RANGE EGGS $9.95. The next plate on the table is what I believe Foodies on Board should be known for, their sous vide poached eggs! We decided to try a Belgian waffle (additional $1.00) as well as the hash browns (additional $1.95) rather than the traditional English muffins. I love how you can mix and match and do not have to order two of the same items! The crispy Belgian waffle topped with wild BC salmon (additional $1.00) had a generous rich and buttery hollandise. On top of that the spinach, lemon caper and cream cheese complimented the salmon well despite that the salmon was on the saltier side. As for the highlight, it was the perfectly executed sous vide egg - honestly the egg could not be any more perfect! The second "benny" we ordered consisted of house cut hash browns topped with arugula and in house cured smoked bacon. The crispy hash browns exhibited a fluffy interior and was well seasoned with garlic and paprika. Moreover, the crispy bacon was perfectly executed - slow cooked, smokey without overwhelming and well rendered. To brighten up the plate, there is also a slice of dragon fruit, pineapple, grapes and blueberries. Yum! FOODIES HASH BROWNS BOWL $12.95. The last breakfast item we ordered was a bowl of house cut potatoes similar to the hash benny and we added another perfect sous vide egg ($1.00?). The hash was noticeably a lot crispier compared to the benny and there was a nice smokiness from the house sausage and cheese. The sauteed onions, peppers and tomatoes complimented the hash as well. THE GARDEN SMOOTHIE $6.95. We finished off breakfast with a smoothie blended with kale, spinach, celery, bitter melon, honey dew, banana and pineapple juice. This was a great smoothie, smooth and not too icey. I hope Foodies on Board can offer fresh pressed juices in the future. Foodies on Board is a great find in Burnaby! The health conscious restaurant carefully prepares their food and focuses on locally sourced produce. I cannot wait to come back to try other items as well as the lunch menu. In addition to the restaurant, Foodies on Board offers catering as well.

First, they were so easy to work with, all we need to do was to give a brief of the event and they do the rest! Short of saying that Austin Gourmet helped us channelled some budget to other areas of our event! Food wise, like the rest of the reviews mentioned, was delicious! We had a spread of delectable selection of pastries & sweets, sandwiches, wraps and cookies. Not forgetting the hot & cold beverages. The food is truly mouth watering. It is utmost joy as hosts to see our guests happily chomping down the food. As for the set up & pick up, their staff were more than punctual. In fact they were there waiting for us to arrive! Everything was set up carefully and nothing was amiss. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The event was a success and the food played a huge role. We couldn't ask for anything more. Thank you guys! PS: one suggestion, print your company name on the napkins that were provided. Almost everyone wanted to know who our caterer was!
