Fortunately, staff informed us they DON'T sell squirrels. (Maybe next time) The meat case had much to choose from to include seafood. Then, they didn't keep fresh for more than a day. DAMN. I bought raw whipping cream and it wouldn't whip (there was too much milk in it) and I spent $12 or so dollars for a pint. Another disappointment. The last visit was a couple months ago. I bought a piece of grouper (with the skin on....which is adding weight and you don't eat the skin) and a smoked mahi fish dip that was HARD pieces of fish. NO MORE! I'd rather drive to Gainesville to buy fresh fish than constantly be over charged and disappointed.

The cows are free to roam the 345-acre property, and Pastures of Rose Creek raises them with no antibiotics, no hormones, and no harmful chemicals. But the proof is in the taste--once you try grass-fed, you simply won't go back! Their steaks are cut to order and make great gifts as well! When I was there, a family was buying a half cow to freeze for barbecues. That's how good it is :) Be sure to try their new Piedmontese beef as well--it has a unique "double muscling" which makes the beef have less cholesterol and fat than chicken while still having that unsurpassed tenderness and flavor.
