It was served room temperature with undercooked rice and a chutney that tasted like bathroom cleaner plus a large glob of sour cream and unaccountably, some shredded lettuce and chopped tomatoes. It was inedible. My dining partner had an equally gross spicy tomato pasta. It tasted more like a tube of tomato paste and was thick and gloppy. I feel terrible writing such a report but man, the food was truly inedible. I suppose if you get a standard burger or something simple, they'd manage.

But then again...that's the reason I come here. Today I did add the Peppermint Mocha (hot) which was yummy. Service is always good. It's usually crowded and a little loud but the turnover is not bad and you don't usually have to wait really long for a table. It's definitely a local favorite. Tucked in a little shopping center (Tillman) right off Old Greenville Hwy it's a great place to grab a delicious breakfast or enjoy brunch or lunch.

The meatloaf could cover the bread a little more, even for the same portion of meatloaf, but every bite of the sandwich was great! Thankfully my friend and I were here at 1 pm on a Wednesday afternoon and there wasn't a line. The place did fill up while we were there though. My friend ordered the Chef Salad and a sweet tea. I had the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with onions and added peppers. They do have a daily breakfast and lunch special posted. Nothing fancy about the restaurant. Sadly this was a miss. I really wanted to like this restaurant as one of the leading restaurants…read morein the area, but nope. First, and most importantly, the food. It was salty and lackluster. The menu is fine and engaging, but the output was not up to the price point. And the crab cake appetizer mostly forgot the crab and was well obscured by the sauce and creamed spinach topping. Second, the service was solidly -ish. I reserved a regular table online and noted a special occasion and was put in the bar area at a high top with no reflection of the occasion at all. Third, the ambiance. Being in the bar area it was very loud, not at all an intimate gathering and it made flagging down the server a challenge. Plus the high-top tables were so closely packed we had to hurdle the other patrons to get in and out of the seat. Finally, the service. Good, but by no means sophisticated. Pasta without a pasta spoon, chilled white wine without a cooling charger, and generally disinterested service. For the $150 I spent for two for dinner, I was disappointed and won't likely be back. Shame really.
