This was barely outside of where we go, maybe 2-3 miles, but the sandwich menu online looked solid so we decided to give it a shot. This place has a large footprint with the cafe, grocery store, coffee shop, patio benches, and a small playground. Parking is...unique and you just kind of find a spot that makes sense. The line to order sandwiches was long but it actually moves super fast because they have like 6 registers taking orders. We ordered the Gouda Gobbler and the Turkey Pesto sandwiches and both were absolutely incredible. The bread honestly makes it and we even saw people walking around just eating loaves of this bread out of a bag. After lunch, we walked around inside the store and it was so cute. There's plenty of local items and fresh produce. We will definitely be back and have found a new hot spot!

So I've had this place on my Greenville list for a while. Decided to stop in for the new sweet corn…read moreespresso while in town for the 4th. I arrive and the line is to the door. So I'm thinking ok this place has to be good. It took about 20-25 mins to get to the register and order. I ordered the sweet corn shaken espresso with almond milk and a cinnamon roll so I could make sure to show support. It took 22 mins to get the drink which o tried to be understanding because it was busy and there was really only one person making drinks. Most efficient way? Maybe not but he was steadily working. I watched probably 20 drinks come up almost spilling over they were so full and delicious looking. Finally mine comes up and 1/4 of the cup is empty. Weather ice or almond milk at least fill the cup like the rest of the drinks. So whatever 45 mins I'm not asking for a remake or anything it's already hot inside and just standing there I'm sweating. I get in the car and think well they short changed the drink at least I got this thick cinnamon roll to make up for it. Well jokes on me again. The roll was very dense and dry. While it may have been made that morning it was dry as if it was a day or two old. I figured maybe it was just the outside that was dry but it was the same even in the center. The centers are always supposed to be the best part. Sadly I didn't get the experience everyone else seems to get. Over all pretty disappointing experience that I wish would have been better to give a better review for a local shop.

It's…read morelocated in an almost hidden residential area which has a handful of offices and retail businesses, so not the type of place you'd find unless you were specifically looking for it. They have multiple doors to enter which was confusing, so I had to double back to the counter where you actually had to order drinks. The interiors are spacious. inviting, and modern, as evidenced by the nearly 30 people I saw camped out at tables working away at their laptops or holding video conferences. They also have a nice outdoor patio space as well. I went with an order of a half sweet iced mocha latte. There's an additional charge for any added flavoring, so the drink set me back over $7 (before any tip). While I don't mind paying a bit extra for a great drink, I felt it was very average in taste and probably would have received better from a chain coffee shop. Service from the staff was friendly. I felt this is one of those more modern workspace coffee shops that's lost in a bit of an identity crisis with some market and prepared food items. Perhaps I'm just not their target clientele given they seem to have a loyal following, but felt Chestnut Coffee House was a pretty average and slightly overpriced drink experience for me.

The orange gives it a seventies feel while the exposed wood makes you feel like you're truly in the mountains. They were playing 70s southern rock when we entered which made me smile, you don't find that often but it made the experience all the better. Their coffee was amazing and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. What really stood out to me was their beans for purchase. Every coffee producing country you could think of with multiple washes. I love that they roast their beans so often so you aren't getting a dry and lifeless ground. The honey washed Colombian el silencio has to be my favorite bean I've tried thus far. Hoping they start doing coffee cuppings of their beans. North St. based on the 4.5 Yelp rating. What's going on here? Are these reviews being artificially boosted? I genuinely had to look at my phone to make sure I'd come to the right place based on expectations vs. reality. We ordered the biscuits and gravy with eggs and chicken. The chicken was a had an odd mushy/spongy texture -- a couple of tenders unceremoniously dropped on the plate and nothing like in any of the marketing photos -- and the gravy was not very flavorful at all. Someone else in my party got the chicken and waffles -- their chicken was better than mine, but still completely unimpressive. I also have to say, unfortunately, that the staff is not on their game. We had communication problems with the person taking our order, and the self-bussing area was overflowing with dirty forks and plates. This is a corporate slop establishment, and Greenville has at least a dozen breakfast spots, especially locally-owned ones, that are miles better than this. I regret not looking a bit harder for a better local spot.
