It is such a cool idea to have a coffee bar with a speakeasy vibe. The service was super fast, even though there was a long line, we got the farmhouse quiche, and the Greek quiche, which were both great. The coffee was pretty good, but honestly didn't blow me away. The staff was super friendly, which I always appreciate. The entrance, though, is a bit awkward -- with everyone entering and exiting through the same door, it gets tight, especially when there's a line (which there was). The coffee was solid, and the apple infused pancakes were decent, though I honestly expected more flavor to it. The seating felt a little scattered -- like someone said, "Here's a bunch of chairs, figure it out." Nothing fancy, but functional, but not really. I wouldn't call it a must-visit, but I'm glad I checked it out. I'd consider coming back just to try some of the more unique coffee drinks on the menu. It's definitely not Starbucks -- and that's actually a welcomed reprieve. read more

The decor looks like it might have been an Indian or Oriental restaurant at one time. The decor is a little dated but there are lots of nooks and crannies to settle in to and pull out your computer or visit with friends.There are soft benches, sofas, and chairs, along with regular tables and chairs. A minimum purchase of $5/per person will give you two hours of free Wi-Fi. We came just for a cup of coffee, but the menu is quite extensive. They serve breakfast all day. They also serve lunch and have a large selection of hot and cold drinks, along with wines and cocktails. There is quite a selection of desserts. The vibe is funky and unique. There is a connected entrance with a sign to the Theater/box office. Not sure what that's about. Overall, the coffee was just mediocre but it was fun to explore and see a part of downtown Greenville. read more

We waited in line just before 11 am on Saturday, 3/22/25. The line was long and moved slowly, but it only took 5 minutes to get our drinks once we ordered. Cool place, low ceilings, tables, couches, and chairs for seating. It was packed. I got an Iced Turtle Mocha ($5), which was supposed to be chocolate and caramel. It didn't taste like either of those things. My husband got a Vanilla Iced Coffee and it also didn't taste like vanilla. We both threw ours out after drinking about half. Ordered the tuna salad melt sandwich and the turkey apple sandwich with fries. The sandwiches are cut in half so was able to try one of each as a variety plate with my guest. The fries are seasoned to perfection. The service experience is amazing there's preparation is customized for each order so there's a short wait. The ambiance is nice and there's few options for seating like chairs, booths, sofas, etc. Do like that there are a variety of bottled beverages available as well for quick orders. While there do check out the Alchemy Improv which is the reason I was there. Food orders are allowed in the theatre. Amazing service. read more

Espresso was solid, medium latte was a bit weak on the coffee, I should have added an extra shot Omelette: double mushroom (and they were fresh not canned), onion and feta was delicious! Onions sautéd brown not quite caramelized but better than 90% of what's out there Sourdough toast... meh It arrived cold and barely toasted... Probably God reminding me to lay off the carbs... The food was excellent. They have a vegan sausage option on the breakfast menu. I sat outside in the sun to enjoy the outdoor view but it got hot pretty fast. There are a few tables underneath that are shaded. Customer service was 4/5 only because I never found the water station as it wasn't in plain view. read more

Great coffee. Great eclectic atmosphere. Breakfast was not so good. Everything was very heavy. Croissant was greasy and heavy, seemed very store bought-like, bacon was thin and overcooked. They ask for a tip, then you bus your own table, bring your food to your table yourself and then asked to wipe it down yourself. Again, if you want a good coffee, here you go. Came here on the recommendation of the hotel staff. We got to the coffee shop before the morning tourist rush and this allowed us time to look through the menu and make our selections. The quiche was excellent and the breakfast plate was good. Coffees didn't disappoint either. read more

Visiting Greenville for a wedding we noticed this spot while walking around downtown. Great little coffee spot that has a nice menu of food and beverage options. Stand in line to order and your order is called to pick up at another. Various types of chairs and tables gives it a homey feel. Sit and work, have a meeting, or just stopping for a bit and drink, it's a cool and comfy atmosphere. I ordered a mimosa and Breakfast Crossiant with egg, cheese and, Canadian bacon. Coffee underground is a wonderful coffee shop and cafe right in downtown Greenville. Their menu is extensive so non-coffee drinkers can find something for themselves as well. They also have a full service kitchen. We really enjoyed their egg scrambles. The pricing is very reasonable !! The coffee drinks are solid! I like the eclectic vibe inside. Although they may not have my favorite coffee around, their food is incredible. And the ambiance of the entire place... wow. The back area with the booths and also the open area are so nice. About died. I haven't had a coffee like this before - so smooth, thick, and flavorful (pumpkin spice caffé latte). It is very warm and they are generous with the serving. I also got the Farmer's quiche which blew me away. It's also quite thick yet foamy. Oddly feels like wet bread on the bottom crust, but that texture worked. I absolutely love this coffee shop in Greenville! Not only do they have amazing coffee, like the Italian espresso macchiato, they also have some of the best breakfast and pastries. It's such a nice place to hide away and enjoy sipping your coffee. I love that it truly is underground, and is a local gem. You won't find the same quality of food and drinks at a chain cafe! As always the staff is helpful and friendly. We were having a hard time narrowing down which pastries we would try, and they patiently guided us along. Though, I do wish we could order everything! My husband always makes sure to bring me by this cafe when we are in Greenville. I will say, it my favorite coffee shop we have been to. read more

This place was super cool! I loved the underground theme. There is also a theater on the far side of the coffee shop and a lot of seating. It is very intimate but has a great aesthetic. Something I was a little bummed about was there were no gluten-free pastries, but the workers were nice. My biggest dealbreaker was the coffee. I got a dark chocolate, Irish cream, and hazelnut latte, which is a staple for me. The coffee tasted like chocolate milk with the slightest hint of hazelnut and a dash of coffee. I prefer my coffee to taste like coffee with some extra flavoring but my boyfriend had a smoothie and it was pretty good, just think a coffee shop should have coffee that taste like coffee! read more
