The hubby found this cute little coffee/tea shop right off the Square in Pendleton. Quite a few students were there with their laptops. Nice selection of hot and cold drinks and a few snacks. Fun, quirky vibe with different types of seating, including a couple of small tables out front. Big picture window and lots of green plants make it very inviting. Parking on side and in back. Wi-Fi is free. There is a drive through. Hubby ordered one of the May Specials-Texas Hold 'Em...Mountain Mint Tea, Coconut, Lemon, dash of Milk shaken (served in drink pouch!) I had a sip; it was quite refreshing. I had a hot Chai Latte-just ok. The young lady who took our order was very friendly and quite helpful answering questions about the menu. If you are in Pendleton it's worth a stop. read more

Love love love this place. On any given day you're going to run into students writing papers, moms grabbing Joe to Go, a half dozen guys doing a crazy interesting Bible study (I joined them a few times) or a jogger cooling down. Great baked items too. Not overly done. read more

FreeHand Coffee is one of the cutest coffee shops I've ever been to! There is a ton of natural light, cute decor, and plants. There is a decent amount of seating, considering how small the shop is, and there are some outlets along the wall if you plan to work/study for a while. The only caveat is that the WiFi was pretty slow, but it was super busy, so that's expected. The customer service was great, and my matcha latte was one of the best I've had from a local place in this area - not too sweet or bitter! And look at how cute the latte art is!! Freehand has my favorite coffee in the Clemson area. I went many times this past year and each flavor combination was great. The homemade syrup sweet never overly sweet. The beans are roasted by Junto and had great flavor. This is a great place for studying or for catching up with friends! read more

Wonderful atmosphere and customer service! Really loved my drinks. All of their syrups are made in house, which is super rare and something I really love. The lady at the cash register was super friendly and helpful. I am a barista though and I have a few thoughts/suggestions: first off I did notice that they do not have cold foam lids, which are very helpful to get the full flavor profile of the drink. The second thing is, I could tell that they do not mix their flavors in a pitcher. I have always been taught to put my flavors into a metal cup or pitcher then pour the espresso over the flavor, then stir the flavor into the espresso and cool down the shot with milk for an iced drink. I have noticed that makes the best coffee and really brings out a great balance between espresso and flavor. They definitely put the flavors in the bottom of the cup and tried to mix it in, but that never works. However, the drink itself was really great! I got a white Christmas, which is a white chocolate peppermint, cold brew with cold foam and I'm definitely savoring it! I rarely give good reviews for coffee shops, but I wouldn't mind going back to this one. read more

This place is my fav for the area. I'm used to good quality coffee/ good baristas, nice coffee shop atmosphere-- and just recently moved to the area. This is the only coffee shop I've found so far that is up to par lol. Their latte art, creative lattes like Ube and the MVP (maple vanilla cinnamon mix I think) are my favs and so good! It's a great place to work or study. Nice atmosphere and staff. I wish they had more food but they do have a few little things. It's worth the 20 min drive for me. And the town of Pendelton is also adorable- and has my new favorite foodie restaurant, "Ruffage"! You must try! If you appreciate "boujie" good quality coffee and latte art, this is your spot. read more

I was so excited to find a nearby shop that served Thai tea! It's my favorite springtime drink and I couldn't wait to try it. The staff seemed nice and my drink was made quickly, but the drink itself was quite disappointing to me. Part of the experience of Thai tea is getting to mix the tea and the creamer, but mine came already homogenized. What really lost me was the milk to tea ratio - it was barely orange. It tasted overwhelmingly like plain milk, and the hint of tea was bitter. Granted, I didn't order it with a sweetener, so the bland taste was at least partly my fault, but I typically expect the tea to be brewed with sugar. This is really easy stuff to fix so I hope it gets better, I'd love to support the store! read more

Céline was so sweet and helpful when I needed suggestions for my second drink. Yes, it was so good that I got a second drink. I started out with an iced caramel latte and finished the evening with a cold brew with pumpkin spice cold foam. It didn't take long to get either drink, but the quality of these drinks is what makes this place (along with its atmosphere) so great. Go check them out, you will NOT be disappointed. read more

This coffee shop is not to be missed! Fortunately for me, my Mom lives nearby so I get plenty when I'm in town. We enjoyed the Fig and Cardamom latte...I think it goes by a particular name that I don't remember. Next to try will be the Rose and Cardamom.
