I would give 0 stars if possible. I've been to this location for grooming twice before today. The first time, they "misdialed" my number and did not call when my dog was finished. I called wondering if he was done after 3 hours and they told me they had left multiple voicemails letting me know he was done (they told me they misdialed my number and thought that I had written my area code down wrong). The second time was fine, so I thought the first was just a fluke. I cried when I picked my dog up today. I was told he would be 2-3 hours, and after 2 hours and 45 minutes I called to check on his status and they told me they had been done for a full 90 minutes and had only gotten my voicemail. NOT TRUE. I had my phone on me the entire time and got no calls from Petsmart. When I arrived, I heard my dog howling and whining in the back. When I told them I hadn't been contacted, they told me three different stories: (1) they had spoken to somebody and told this person that Lincoln was ready for pick up (2) it went straight to voicemail and they never reached a person (3) the phones "are wonky today so maybe that's what happened." I was home alone with my cell phone and am 100% positive I never spoke to anybody and my call log shows no missed calls (I even called Verizon to check). When my dog came out, his eyes were red, his mouth was foaming, and he clearly had had a bad experience. I am so sorry to have put my dog through this. Not one of the three groomers seemed phased at how upset my dog or I was. This is absolutely horrendous and I have no words to express how upset I am that these people are working with animals. This location is relatively new and has certainly made me not to the Greenbelt location, unless we are going to Banfield. The cashiers are always very friendly with coupons and promotions. Unlike Greenbelt, they can do the math! Just yesterday, I had a complicated return of a bunch of different types of cat food with multiple receipts and they were very patient. They even gave me store credit for items that I didn't have a receipt for and was trying to donate. read more

This is my Favorite grooming salon.The staff is great and very professional. DeDe is the manager and her staff always accommodates you with the type of cut you prefer. Went in this weekend for the first time. My dog needed his nails cut and it's not a one person job. Besides being a little "special" psychologically my dog also makes honking noises based on a collapsing trachea. The guy in the grooming salon...sorry I meant to get his name....was super relaxed and was able to get my dog up on the table and had his nails cut with little issue. This is the first time. Last time i brought him to another place they couldn't do it because he was all over the place. Not this time. Again, I apologize for not getting the groomers name but posted a picture (hope that ok). Totally appreciate the way he handled me and the dog. Highly recommend him. read more

At this point I am highly disappointed with petsmart in dc ,market place. the location off of South Dakota avenue ne. I have had 2 bearded dragons I purchased there die after I have constantly showed concerns. I am now being discriminated against because of the fact that I had one bad altercation with a manager on duty. I neglected to do the survey and stop going to my neighborhood petsmart as I said I would and that has resulted in negativity from many staff members and all managers! This is unacceptable! Today they have decided to neglect petsmart refund policy and denies me of my right to return two brand new tank kits with all its belongings that were still salable. When I had the receipt and an Id. One manager went on to say she thinks I'm scamming. And the other store manager went on to say he won't return any used items when that's not what the refund policy states! When I returned the first tank ever I clean it inside and out and sanitized it all to find out the tanks don't get resold. They give them away to staff members or return items get thrown away. But if there is a return there is a problem with the manufacture of the item itself or because I'm unsatisfied and worried about the safety of my animal. Yes I have been unsatisfied with several items and returned them but I have also spent plenty of money in petsmart! Also when I do exchanges I still buy new things and pay the difference! The policy states if you are unsatisfied with anything to bring it back. Every time I have return something I explained the problem. Do they take notes? No! Must I do a survey everytime? No! The policy doesn't say I must but when I'm unsatisfied I return things. Before my second bearded dragon died we found out he was born with metabolic bone disease and that he was sold to us that way! We learned this from a petco vet who kept him for 4 days. Mind u we bought him from petsmart but they could not treat him because all reptiles and the reptile vet was removed from petsmart by the dc mayor. The vet Malicai He let us know what to buy for him and how to treat him and that I should be able to get a refund because he's sick without returning him. When I went to ask petsmart they told me no. They said they couldn't unless I gave him back. So recently he stop eating and started to look like he was dying. Took him to petsmart again for any advice or to see if they had a reptile vet around. The manager told me he was dying and that there is no vet there and any other vet would charge me $500 just to check and he still would die. She then pretended to be sorry for me and gave me a refund for him which was incorrect I later went back for an adjustment. I felt like that was shady! But she told me to keep him as comfortable as possible but th. So that refund contradicts the first time when I ask for one before he got that sick. Which was irritating! And they couldn't give me another one because the mayor had them removed. So they pick and choose when to refund. Then I returned his tank and all accessories for store credit. So I could go purchase a brand new bearded dragon and tank from the nearest Maryland petsmart. Everything was still brand new and in good condition. I used that store credit to buy a new bearded dragon and habitat from river town petsmart. Today I tried to exchange 2 small tanks for 1 bigger tank the store credit is of $175 at least and enough for the on sale 20 gallon tank which the small bearded dragon will need anyway in 6 months. My receipts are from May and they didn't even look at them or the never used items that were in the tank that came with the tank kits. They just immediately said they can't and won't and refuse to do any return for me. As if I've been some kind of barred from refunds! Why can I still purchase but can't return? But why would the manager even come out her mouth and say she thinks I'm scamming? Do I look like a scammer because I'm black? Do I look broke? I pay for everything I don't go from store to store doing nothing. She even went to say I've been at multiple locations returning things. When that's a lie I only ever went to one petsmart since I been driving. Because they don't sale bearded dragons anymore I recently had to go to another but I said ma'am please don't lie because u can't prove that! Since I got these bearded dragons my sister fell in love and my sister got her own 5. Had they still been able to sell them all five would have been brought at petsmart market place. we been in petsmart and going to the same one. How can they pick and choose when to service a customer? Or when to do a refund? when a person purchases something and has a receipt or when there is a no receipt policy. When I got angry I began to yell because I told myself I would not go there again. my sister even tried to return her tank which was $381 and it doesn't get hot because it has vents but no refund and she bought last week! I brought my dog today, a Pomeranian , to get a puppy hair cut today and the lady who was going to groom my dog spoke to me disrespectfully. I don't recall her name but she is a bald lady, wears classes, African American, and has tattoos on her arm. If it help just like she told me for what reason I do not know she has 14 years of experience. She gave me attitude when it was uncalled for. I came inside calmly and she snatched the papers I had for my dog out of my hand. I also realized that the dog that was getting a haircut was getting treated unprofessionally. The grooming manager looked very inexperienced. That same dog was panicking and even fell off the table and the manger did not know what to do. I won't come back to this location. Just imagine if that's how they treat the costumers , how are they going to treat our pets ? read more

So at the grand opening, I was not impressed with the manager. Why would you place your free items in front of the store near the dog grooming area. Clogged up the area unnecessarily. It should have been set up in several different areas to get the people into the store itself. There was also suppose to be gift cards for the first 30 or so customers, I now have been told that the manager was handling them, where were they, I was one of those customers. Pet owners beware!!! This review is solely for the grooming salon. I booked an appointment online for complete grooming service/flea treatment for my Maltese. I received an online email confirmation and arrived 15 minutes before my appt time. I wasn't greeted by the rude staff who were chit chatting about their wild Saturday night. Once someone finally acknowledged me I told them why i was there, showing my email confirmation. They claimed they had no record of my appointment then proceeded to tell me the online prices were incorrect. They Quoted me $73 for a bath with hair trim. Okey fine. The lady then tells me since i was a " Walk in" ummm I have an appointment I would have to wait 3.5-4 hours since she has other dogs coming in. Mind you i was the only customer there at that point. I did some shopping, and came back 5 hours later. At this point the woman says it'll be another 1.5 hours for a haircut or "you and your dog can just go if you can't wait." At this point i was fed up with the rude attitude and asked for management. The manager on duty was great! He didn't charge me for the little services that had been rendered and apologized profusely. However I'll never return to this location. Even though it's only 5 minutes from my home I'd rather drive out to the Potomac Yards location then to come here. The staff is disgusting! There is one employee at this location, a manager at that, named Bobbi if I recall who does not know the company's return policy. You can return anything at any store in the country, not just the store you bought the product at. If you do not have a receipt you get a merchandise store card. This is stated on the back of a receipt. Any problems you have or find at a retail store, whether it is with an employee and their lack of knowledge and/or rudeness or how their animals are kept , etc. should be taken to the corporate level. I started using this location for my dog Dover after being a regular at the PetSmart in Bethesda for a year and prior to that the store on Cherry Hill Road. I was so happy to have this location open closer to my home. Dover was first groomed at this location in Oct of 2016 and again in December. The young lady (Her name escapes me because she left to go to another location) did a wonderful job with Dover. I found out she had left when I called to schedule his third appointment. It was recommended that I have Didi ( Editha) groom Dover. Great recommendation. Dover has been scheduled for his next grooming with Didi in June. She was absolutely wonderful with Dover and is now HIS groomer. He gets the groom with the Top Dog Plus. read more

First off, I am also in the service industry and understand how stressful it can be when you are short staffed. However, I've found that most customers are understanding if you just give them a quick heads up of the situation. I went in to get my dog's anal glands expressed. Not the most glamorous job to do, but Petsmart offers those services so I will pay and take advantage of it. When we state we'd like to get that done, the groomer immediately barks back "You couldn't have done that at home? We don't do that here." Which is false since we've done it twice before and it clearly states it on the wall of services. Then she wants me to lift my dog up and show her my dogs behind. Mind you, this is all happening at the reception desk. And she starts poking around the backside and then proceeds to express the gland at the reception desk. ( I had no idea she was going to do it right there) The contents go spraying all over the reception area and keyboard and down my leg. She then acts all pissed like I caused this to happen when it's supposed to happen in the back cleaning area.. Most absurd and rude experience of my life. read more

I have attempted to make 4 different appointments online to have my dog groomed at this location over the last year. Mind you my dog is a 15lb Chihuahua/Dachshund mix, so all she needs, is to be bathed and have her nails clipped. Although the salon employs at least 8 dog groomers at this location, for some reason 3 of those appointments have been with Christopher. Of those 3 appointments, Christopher has called me every time to confirm that he received the request for an appointment, but to tell me that he is overbooked and will not be seeing my dog. Again they employ at least 8 groomers, so why/how is it possible that you are overbooked? If you can't do it, then give my request to another groomer. I should note that my 4th and final attempt to book an appointment here happened this past weekend. I went online last week and booked an appointment for Saturday the 16th, then waited for a phone call to confirm it. Never got a phone call to confirm or cancel. So on Saturday I went in to see what the hell was going on. Got there and saw Mr. "I'm overbooked and can't see your dog" standing around (not grooming a dog) in the salon talking to a fellow groomer for almost 10minutes. This was not at the close of business either, but rather around 1pm, only 2hrs after the salon opened. Either Christopher is the laziest "poor me I'm overworked" groomer I have EVER seen, or PetSmart needs to revamp its salon services. I will not be going back to this location for any reason. I'd rather drive to the one in Largo, at least there the staff actually try to help you. Its very telling that this location just opened, less than a year ago, yet already has so many negative reviews on multiple sites including Google, Facebook, here on Yelp and many others. read more

I have been to just about every grooming salon in DC when I went to this one I was expecting the same bad customer service I always get but to my surprise I was treated with great service my dog was getting groom by Danielle and let me tell you she was awesome. She knows dogs and my juju loved her. She took the time to answer all my questions and addressed all my concerns let's just say Danielle is my new groomer. read more
