Terrible experience. This is the PetSmart on Dakota Crossing. They left my dog looking awful. They didn't finish the service because my dog Milo wasn't holding still and bit the store manager. However, Milo is an energetic puppy. Milo is only 5 months old, and a bite from a puppy shouldn't have left him like this. For the store manager to not give us any solution to finish the cut is shows that they don't care about the customer experience. They wanted $50 for this service, ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! This was also his first cut and they didn't make any expectations. The store manager, MICHELLE, was very rude and unprofessional. Her tone, body language, and overall mannerism were completely rude and unprofessional. She shouldn't be the store manager if she can't handle animals. It felt like a rushed job. There was a gentleman who tried to help us get a touch up appointment with a professional groomer because he agreed that our dog looked awful. However, the represent was persistent that we talk to MICHELLE. Now we are "banned from the store" because we were unsatisfied by the store's professionalism. Do not bring your dog/puppy here for grooming service. The grooming staff isn't capable of handling animals that give them the slightest bit of frustration. Make sure you take your animal to a professional service.

I will never go here again! The last time Maricarmen did an excellent job. She listened to what I wanted. Maricarmen supposingly wasn't available. I took my Mini Goldendoodle puppy who is bad for basically a touchup cut she had no matts. She gets combed & brushed daily. I specifically told the Groomer, I do not want my dog cut short, I want her face rounded and tail ends trimmed. He recommended a length which was fine because it wasn't short at all. I was told it would be 4 hours. 4 hours is a long time. I got there to pick her up in 4 hours. He hadn't even started cutting her and he told me he needed another 45 minutes which turned into an hour. I wish I had taken my glasses with me so that I could have seen how uneven she was cut. I was already not happy that he cut her short. I paid & tipped (only as a courtesy) for the worst cut my dog has ever had. All her wavy hair was cut off. It's Winter. He gave her a Summer cut. To make it even worst she's cut uneven and has a gash on the back of her left leg. How do you cut a dog so short and get it uneven behooves me. Her face and head are lopsided. One ear is cut at an angle while the other is cut straight across. The fur on one is longer than the other. Tail tip fur cut off the rest untouched. What I took to Petsmart was a cute teddy bear looking dog with wavy hair. What I got back......was a cute dog with barely any fur and a really bad uneven hair cut. The rush job he did sucks. Hell he needs to pay me because I have to go behind him to try to fix the mess. Needless to say, Petsmart is #2 on my oh hell no grooming. Petsmart dog cuts are getting just as bad as Petco. They both now give half ass rushed cuts with very little attention to detail. Petsmart stop overbooking your Groomers so they can at least do a better job and stop raising your prices because customers aren't getting what they're paying for.

I left my dog in the care of this location on July 15, 2025; the PetSmart team and specifically supervising store manager Michelle endangered my animal and did everything in their power to absolve themselves of liability. There was a complete breakdown in protocol, policy, supervision, and care that led to the endangerment of my animal. While under the supervision of the groomers and PetSmart team my dog sustained injuries to his paw and mouth that led to bleeding. My dog, before I was informed, was transported to veterinary care that I was not familiar with. The team shared confusing and contradictory information during the process of sharing my animals status. The information and possession of my animal was unclear while the team was legally responsible for making decisions for his medical care. The team came across frazzled and unprofessional and as they seem to prioritize absolving themselves of liability instead of providing customer service and focusing on the wellness of my animal. The team attempted to leave my animal at a location that they were not willing to email to me. The patronizing and rude tone I received from Michelle the store supervisor was extremely disconcerting, which only exacerbated the alarming circumstance. Before picking my dog up, the team shared that they would never be willing to groom my dog again When I picked my dog up the team provided no receipt, no report of the incident and shared with me "that nothing happened"... And to never come back. If you care about and value your animal, I'd advise avoiding this location and team.

We have patronized the Pet Smart brand since welcoming our 5 year old rescue Roxy into our home. This was our 1st time at this location. Once inside, Roxy became very agitated and kept trying to leave out the door. Now we know why! The "Groomer" totally messed up her coat she has bald spots everywhere! As if the "Groomer" clippers were hesitating. (See pic) YES THOSE are BALD SPOTS!!! Once it wass bought to their attention, the staff wanted us to pay for this ATROCITY! WE REFUSED! NO ONE should have to deal with this level of unprofessionalizm ever! Especially when it comes to our fur babies.

It was my puppies first time getting groomed and I was a bit nervous and excited. He is a standard poodle that was 4months old. I was not expecting much going to pet smart but I was very desperate to get him groomed (as you can see from the before and after photos lol). I had selected Kemar to groom my pup. I dropped him off at 8 and picked him up at 1. I was concerned because I did not expect it to take this long but when I came back... BOOM. My dog was gorgeous. Would 100 percent recommend. Plus it was muchhhh cheaper then other groomer's in my area.

This review is purely based off of the grooming. This was the first and only time I have taken my dog to a PetSmart for grooming. He was literally groomed about 4 days prior but due to it being so close to Christmas & he was getting his pictures taken, I wanted him to get freshened up. I keep him in a short Poodle clip, so literally it wasn't much to be done. I paid the $25 extra for the Top Paw Plus treatments which seemed cool. The groomer was Jilcana M, she was nice and he didn't mind her. I give 4 stars because like I said, he was groomed 4 days prior and didn't need much done - plus I am not sure if anything from the add-on was actually done. But overall, I was very satisfied. For the "groom", the add-on, and tip, I paid just under $90.

0/10 would not recommend. I wish I could give zero stars. Took my dog for a normal grooming appt. First time at this location but he's been groomed at PetSmart for the last 4 years. No issue. I get a call thinking he's ready and it's a young lady saying he's been rushed to the hospital. Mind you. He is a 5lb yorkiepoo. She says somehow he's bleeding and they don't know how it happened. He must've hit a door or something. Im Like wth. So I rush to the hospital to be told he was in fact cut by the groomer twice. When I initially called the salon manager said they would be viewing the tape to see what happen knowingly all along it was a grooming accident. Now supposedly all the fees were to be covered by the salon as he was under there care. Here it is a week later and they still have not paid. I had to call to tell them After the vet called and stated the bill was still Unpaid. Do not take your pet. I repeat.

We've taken our 12-year-old Yorkie, Presley, to City Dogs twice now, and unfortunately we won't be…read morereturning after what happened at his most recent grooming on October 8. Presley's first haircut here was fine, shorter than expected on the face but it grew out nicely. This 2nd time we asked for the exact same length, but his face was left noticeably longer. 2 weeks later, his bangs are already covering his eyes. That alone would not have warranted a review, but what happened afterward absolutely does. Presley was dropped off healthy and alert. When my husband picked him up, staff said everything "went fine." But once home, Presley was unsteady on his back legs and refused food, treats, and water. We called City Dogs immediately, and the information we received was inconsistent. On the first call, we were told his nails hadn't been trimmed. On the second, we were told they had been as part of the full grooming package (would have been fine, we were just trying to understand what could have caused his sudden discomfort). We were also told, for the first time, that Presley "didn't want to stand" and had been "nipping." That alone raised a brow for us. Presley is 12, and in all our years of taking him to vets and groomers, we have only ever been told he is calm and gentle. Even in moments that make most dogs anxious, like rectal exams, he stays still and sweet. Hearing that he was agitated or refusing to stand instantly told us something must have been off that day. It also should have signaled to City Dogs that something was wrong. If a consistently calm dog suddenly becomes uncooperative, that is a sign of distress and should have prompted a call before continuing the grooming. When we finally reached the grooming manager, (also the groomer), the conversation became incredibly frustrating. From the start he was defensive, speaking over us and focusing more on protecting City Dogs' reputation than on helping us understand what might have happened. To be clear, we weren't being accusatory. We weren't blaming anyone or suggesting he intentionally hurt Presley. We were trying to figure out what could have happened in those few hours that might explain why our otherwise active dog suddenly could not walk properly. Instead, he grew irritated, pointing out that we had spoken to two other staff members, (completely out of our control), and repeatedly insisting he "would never hurt a dog, especially a senior dog." We never suggested he would, we just wanted clarity. He interrupted often, dismissed questions, and even claimed we were the ones being defensive. Any pushback on our part came only from asking him to let us speak. It felt like we were being treated as an inconvenience rather than concerned dog parents. When I asked if it was normal not to call an owner when a dog refuses to stand or shows distress, he said it was not uncommon, especially for "older dogs with arthritis." That didn't make sense as Presley has never been diagnosed with arthritis or shown symptoms. At one point, he also claimed we had accused him of giving Presley medicated food, when all my husband asked was whether Presley might have eaten anything while there. The manager ended the call by telling us to monitor Presley for 24 hours and make sure he was drinking water. When my husband explained that Presley was not eating or drinking at all, the manager finally said that was "concerning" and promised a follow-up call the next day. No one has called. Presley's stiffness lessened after the first day, but he continued walking unbalanced for several days afterward. The entire experience was very disappointing. We weren't looking to blame anyone, we were trying to understand what happened and make sure Presley was okay. Instead, we were met with evasion and indifference. Accidents can happen anywhere, but how a business responds afterward defines its integrity. In our case, City Dogs failed to respond with basic care, accountability, or compassion, and that is why Presley will not be returning.

My foster pups' particular needs were: pulling hard on walks, being constantly distracted, no recall, jumping on people out of excitement, being barky, and chewing whatever came near his mouth at home. Lily achieved drastic improvements on all fronts. As well as her professional accreditations and hands-on experience, she is currently pursuing a master's degree in animal behavior. That was one of the things that attracted me to her services, a passion rather than a job. Lily is articulate and explains behaviors, often from the dog's perspective, which is so helpful.
