I had a choice to either go to a closer one in Renton, but I like it here better. The biggest deciding factor was Banfield. When I brought my dog in Renton, I did not like the vibe I was getting. It felt like the workers there are only there to work, it was just a job. When I went to Tukwila, I could already tell they love what they were doing. Sorry Renton! The closest is not always the bestest! The only reason why I put 4 stars is because of parking. If you take an early turn into the area and drive towards Toys R Us on the weekend...good luck getting through that 5 mins of gridlock! read more

So the stars go to the groomer, Shannon. I had called Petsmart a month ago, to ask if they would accept a Petco coupon I had received. Previously (a couple of months back, I ended up getting my dog groomed at Petco, since Petsmart was unable to get me in with a 3 days notice. Since my dog had a Banfield appointment set a month back for today, I wanted to make it easier on myself to get him groomed there as well. I asked if Petsmart would accept a 20% off Petco coupon I had received, and they said yes. When checking out, after waiting a bit for a manager approval at the register, she said, "Sorry sir, but this coupon is expired". I get it. I made the appointment a month back, and didn't even think twice about a 20% off expiring. The manager, Ivette, refused to honor it, even after I questioned the acceptance of coupon on my phone. I'm a DM for a retail/food company, and God forbid my managers refusing to accept a 20% coupon, expired or not. You have now a guest, that instead of shopping like crazy, like I do, wil be going to Petco for what would have been less than the $10 tip I gave the groomer. Her smug attitude, even after I directly told her I would be leaving a review, would be unacceptable in any of my locations. Rethink business practice, and possibly who is running your stores. Good luck. read more

We boarded our dog at Petsmart Hotel over the Christmas break and picked him up on New Years day. Three days later, he died of kennel cough. When we left him at Petsmart, he was a healthy, happy dog. When we picked him up, it was clear to us, he wasn't well. Not the way he normally looks when we picked him up at other dog boarding places. When he got home, he lied down, drank some water and ate some food. As the night wen't on he coughed a little. The next morning, we called the Petsmart hotel and asked "What have you done to our dog?", becuase he kept coughing. Then, they tried convincing us that our dog "does not have a strong immune system" and that "he may have caught a kennel cough". Also, we asked about how our dog got couple of scratches on his stomach. They didn't know how this occurred. We told them that we needed to take our dog to the vet. They recommended that we take our dog to their own vet on site. We called their doctor, but they were all booked until Friday of that week. Becuase the dog's conditioned worsened, we could not wait and took him to our veternary who gave him antibiotics and cough medicine. But it was too late as our dog collapsed at 4am in the morning after coughing itself to death. We recommend against anyone using Petsmart hotel. This may be due to the inexperience staff that cares for the dog. While the District manager did call to apologize, it really didn't help as we lost our loved one. read more

Fantastic customer service! Saleswoman was knowledgable and recommended products that fit the specific needs of our pet.

This review is for the Doggie DayCamp and Pet's Hotel. The rest of the store is a fine, respectable pet store with all the key stuff. We just love the DayCamp and Pet's Hotel. In fact when we board our dog, we will often pay the extra money so she can do the DayCamp too. They will feed their standard food for no extra cost, or you can bring in your own dogfood and treats. We also appreciate that they get documentation from all dog owners that their pet has had it's shots. This used to be a hassle to stop by the vet for documentation once a year, but now they will contact your vet for you, which is awesome. Plus you know that all the dogs in there are going to be pretty healthy if they had a vet sign off. There's also grooming, which we are trying for the first time soon. read more

I normally board my dog at the Bellevue location. But due to us flying out at SeaTac, we decided to try the Tukwila location for a 2 night stay. I paid for a suite in addition to one personal play time. I told the front desk lady at the time of check-in that my dog is 15 years old and would need to be let out for extra potty breaks. When I return to pick my dog up, my dog and her blanket was covered in urine! Terrible staff. read more

Even though we have tons of pet stores around our area, my boyfriend and I LOVE going here. Not only was their staff very informative about all their products, we feel like we can find everything that we need here. We're also obsessed with their groomers! They were able to squeeze us in for a quick bath and cut an hour before closing. Stephanie did a wonderful job with our dog and she seemed like she really cared for her, unlike some other groomers I've been to. read more

I usually go to the Landing location, but I was running errands around Southcenter. I didn't really need help on the floor, so I didn't seek help. I did note that the collars/leashes weren't fully in stock. (But then again... why aren't they ever??) Three stars because I had to wait in line for three employees to finish talking about how the cute girl needs time to warm up so she doesn't make mistakes when she rings people up and for the two guys to laugh emptily at her. read more

Great place to buy wild bird supplies! And home bird supplies if you have a tendency to find parrots on the side of the road and rescue them... ahem Pros? -Average prices -More variety in bird and fish supplies than Petco -Great online deals Cons? -As with most large pet stores, their knowledge/care of small animals is not very good read more

Pros: Cheaper than Petco, training classes (Ashley) are good. Cons: Management I tried to return a pet-hair grooming comb that was a gift to PURCHASE the larger model. At first, the manager told the girl at the register, over the radio, to just tell me no, but I asked to see the manager. When she emerged from the back room, she looked like she had just woken up from a nap. She absolutely refused to help me - said under no exceptions can she exchange without a receipt - even a gift. Sorry to interrupt your nap, blondie! I'm somewhat amazed at how many people board their cats and dogs here - it's not cheap! Always look for the sale tags unless you HAVE to get something that day. read more

Great customer service! Nicole helped me pick the proper leash, food and treats. She spent enough time with me to assure me that I had all the tools of the trade when adopting my rescue pooch. I'll start off by saying that I come here all the time. Probably two or three times a month and buy all of our toys, treats, and food here. We've used the grooming several times as well as the pet hotel. The employees probably get a B- for helpfulness just because most of the time I never get helped unless I'm at the register. Two months ago I was in the store getting a different brand of flea medication. I have two pugs, one i just got several months ago. I had my first pug on an oral pill from the vet but since we got another dog, it was too expensive to go that route. I was in the store looking at the different brands and an employees suggested Sentry Fiproguard because "it was the same formula as frontline for half the cost". I got two six-month supply boxes for about $70. Last night we found fleas on our dogs and we just gave their last application two weeks ago so obviously this brand doesn't work well. Today I went back to the store and stated that the product didn't work and I still had 1 1/2 boxes left of it (one box hadn't even been opened) but I had lost my receipt. I wanted to EXCHANGE those for the Frontline (which cost about $100 for a 6 month supply.. Almost 3x more than the product I had originally gotten) I told the manager I wasn't looking for my money back, in fact I am planning to spend more money just to get the better brand and get the fleas under control. The manager was not helpful and told me without a receipt they cannot return medication or supplements, period. She was not willing to tell me why or help me in any way. This was the worst experience I've had with this store. I don't understand if something is unopened, why can't you return for store credit? I've worked retail and that's how most places do it. But it's Petsmarts "policy". Okay fine, but being a loyal customer and obviously not a thief, I expect to be worked with as far as getting a product that actually works! So basically I'm going to have to throw 8 months worth of flea medication away and start from scratch. But I will say, from now on I am making the extra 2 minute trip and going across the street to Petco. read more

I am late posting this but the young man (Manager) helped me with a return a few months ago when my son was due back from Germany. My son's dog had died and I hadn't told him yet so Christmas the family got some dog toys without knowing the dog had died so he let me return them and gave me a gift card my son could come in and get what he wanted when he was ready. Thank you PetSmart for hiring such kind and compassionate people. read more

The blonde guy with long hair at petcare, excellent customer care in the mornings, as for everything else, you better be in the store and pray to RNGesus someones at the fish wall before 8:50pm (which nobody ever is at fish wall when you need them amirite?) or be denied sales, like I was, even though I'm pretty sure I made it in before 8:50pm, walked to the fish wall to see noone, went to the cashier and waited for the cashier to finish helping a pair of customers, who HAD FISH to buy, burned time to get me help to the wall, only to be told no.. I shot an email to the website about my experience, since these receipts don't offer surveys anymore. (I know surveys were a big thing at the Otay Ranch location in San Diego CA when I worked there years ago, customer service was #1) I did get an email reply through the website, a response from a Lennox F. that replied to me with what seemed to me to be so robot-like and prefabricated, (not personal at all..) about paperwork for fish???.. Corporate logic never made sense to me.. Maybe they need to work the stores a couple days incognito to understand, idk. (Like maybe get the neon tetras out of the long tanks with zebra danios and make your employees lives easier catching fish) I'll probably stick to getting my sh*t online than to go to brick and mortar shops anymore. More business for the more smaller guys I guess lol read more

I was very excited to bring my dog to get groomed here this morning and was running a lil late to work just to bring him on time. As I arrived the lady in the front names Mariah didn't seem to happy to see a husky dog coming to get groomed I didn't think anything of it thought maybe she was having a bad day , until I got a call at work saying their denying my pet service since he had an accident more than 3 times although I took him to burien petsmart 3 times before and they always charge me a special handling fee since anyone who knows about dogs know huskys can be kinda tough to handle. So I had to leave work to go get my dog and when I arrived I explained to her how they work in burien and she said very rudely and with an attitude "well I suggest you go to burien " .. I was shocked since I work retail and know that is no way to treat a customer. I will not be ever coming back to this place and I do not reccomend this grooming location to any pet owner. I hope this gets to the owner any person grooming pets should love pets and this lady just isn't a dog/husky lover obviously. read more

We bought a fish tank and some fish our first ever and the gal helping us literally knew everything about fish and was so friendly and helpful. She had a answer to every question. We will definitely be coming back. Only con and I'm sure this is because it's a pet store the store itself looked dirty and kind of cheap looking. read more

This PetSmart is probably my favorite. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I can almost always find the cat supplies I need although I'm a little bummed that they no longer stock of my cat's favorite treat flavors. I'm glad they brought back the cat adoption center! read more

We use Banfield as a vet (different store location) and really love them so I decided to try this groomer for the first time. The only people to say hi to my dog were other customers, none of the women behind the counter even acknowledged him. When I came to pick up, the dogs getting their hair cut were all being ignored while the women chatted and showed pictures on their phones. I get wanting to talk with your coworkers about your weekend, but there's down time for that. Not while you have 3 dogs in front of you and waiting customers. And the haircuts all looked uneven, I would've been upset if any of those were my dog. I couldn't see everything behind the door, but it looked like it took multiple (3) people to hold my dog down to get his collar on. I get it, it's a new prong collar and he's not a big fan. But how about instead of holding him down and traumatizing him you ask him to sit, give him some pets, murmur encouraging words, anything besides pinning him down. He was upset after and in some kind of mood. Idk what went on when I wasn't there, but he didn't like it. All in all it seemed like none of the women I saw working there are particularly dog people and don't like their jobs. Won't be putting my dog through that again. read more

My dog is a jumper. We've successfully trained her to be a great dog in all other areas, but when someone comes to the door, all training goes out the window and she goes nuts. We have to put her on a leash to physically stop her from jumping when guests come over. You can imagine this makes it hard to shake hands or hug people when you're holding a leash with a 70 lb. bucking bronco at the end of it. Anyway, someone suggested I try an anti-jump harness. It goes around their back legs so they can't jump. So after searching around, I found that Petsmart is the only place that carries this sort of thing. The nearest Petsmart is about 30 minutes away, so I called ahead to make sure they had one for me. They put me on hold three times and had three different people searching for it, but finally after about 15 minutes, someone picked up and said they had it. When I got there, I walked to the section where the leashes, collars and harnesses are, and after several minutes of scouring the aisle, I couldn't find it. So I asked an employee. What did he do? He went straight back to the spot I had just been looking and started looking. I told him I already looked there-- did they possibly keep those in another section of the store? He said if it wasn't there, they probably didn't carry it. I told him I had called an hour ago and was told they did. So he went to find a manager. What did the manager do? Went back to that same spot to search. Why do retail employees always do this? I'm not blind, so why do you feel the need to search the same spot I just was? The reason I'm asking you is because I thought you might know the store better than I do. After the manager spent a good 10 minutes searching the same spot, he said they probably don't carry it. Again, I explained that I had just called and was told they did. He suggested I wait until the trainer was done teaching her class because she might know. By this point I had been at the store for about 45 minutes. About 10 minutes later, the trainer finished with her class so I asked her. Again, back to the same spot! Seriously, I was ready to pull my hair out. She finally was able to locate it at another area of the store. Finally, I could get out of there... but no! She proceeded to try and teach me how to train my dog! Nevermind we had already been through two sessions of obedience school at a much higher quality institution than Petsmart. My dog knows she's not supposed to jump, but she forgets everything she knows when we have company over. I just wanted to get this harness and get out of there! After about 20 minutes of politely trying to get the trainer to stop talking I finally walked away. I'm not one to be rude, but I hadn't planned on spending an hour and a half at Petsmart in Tukwila either. I wanted to go home! The worst part of this whole thing was that the harness didn't even work. My dog can still jump with it on. Do I want to go back to Petsmart to return it, though? Hell no. They can keep my $25. read more

Yep its true and i didn't want to believe it PETSMART SUCKS!!!! They are only good for products they may carry. My experience though is with their grooming services I took my 2 boxers there to have washed and the first couple times it was good, the 3rd time i found a big cotton swab jammed all the way in one of my dogs ear which had been there for about a day cause i didn't notice it till the next day after the poor thing was whinning i literally had to pull it out with force, now that pissed the hell out of me!( for all you pet owners our pets are like our kids), i did call the manager and chew him out and said that i would never come there again, especially now and the fact that i heard a dog had died there cause they use some sort of air dryer which short snout dogs had difficulty breathing in. So to all out there BEWARE you've been warned I WILL WASH MY OWN DOGS FROM NOW ON! read more

I own a pit bull. Not to brag but he is the best pit bull in the world. I will admit, I've never been a huge fan of Petsmart b/c of their strict rules about bully breeds (bully breeds aren't allowed in daycare and when guests at the Pet Hotel aren't allowed to play with the other dogs). In fact, I have written letters and called their corporate HQ complaining about their discrimination practices. This may sound strange but even though they discriminate against bully breeds I still take my beloved dog there to be kenneled....and here's why: When I first adopted my dog I went and toured multiple kennels to see their facilities, ask about their attitude towards pits, read reviews online, etc. I would not take my child to a daycare that I had not thoroughly investigated so why would I take my dog to a kennel without checking into them first? Anyway, the employees at Petsmart Hotel were the only ones who did not tell me right away that they are always skeptical about pits and that often the pits are kenneled away from other dogs (yes, other kennels actually said this). Instead, Petsmart employees expressed dismay with the current policy. That was enough for me to give them a try. During my dog's first visit he was a tad freaked out and kept rubbing his nose on the kennel bars. One of the employees upgraded him to a suite (no bars) free of charge and called to tell me that he had a little raw spot on his nose but they were taking good care of him, which they did. Now each time I drop him off they know him by name and are genuinely excited to see him. Their employees will even stop to say hello and call him by name when we're just walking through the store visiting with other dogs. I still disagree with their discrimination policies but I can't argue with the superior treatment they give my dog. PS We also took a training class @ Petsmart. Our instructor was great. Interestingly enough even with their discrimination practices at the Pet Hotel my dog was allowed group play time with all the other dogs in our training class. Funny thing, as would be expected my dog was super friendly and well behaved....it was a smaller yippy dog that growled and behaved aggressively towards all the other dogs in class. read more

Had the strangest and most unprofessional experience at this location... Today I went in to get my dog groomed. We usually go to Petco once or twice a month and get her shaved and nails trimmed, but this time we decided to try a new place just to see what else was out there. I promptly brought her in on time for her appointment with all of her updated paperwork, and I let the lady know that my dog is 14 years old and has a few growths on her back and side that we haven't gotten removed yet. They have been treated and looked at, she gets them cleaned by the vet as much as we can. On this day one was a little bit open, as sometimes happens, but she's had this happen on/off for about a year and the vet frequently checks them out so I told the lady she could call my vet and ask about it if she had any questions. She told me "I'm sorry, but it's policy the dog can't have any open wounds for us to groom her" then told me we could bring her back and have one of their vets take a look.... this is where it gets weird! I went back to the vet area into a room where there were two animals under anesthesia being operated on! There were several women there operating and when asked to look at my dog, not a single one came over and actually examined my dog. Instead they rudely and grossly asked "Are you the owner?!" "Are you even treating her?", another lady even saying "ew" at us. Then, without even getting close to my dog one of the women just says something along the lines of "I wouldn't" and then the lady who I originally was talking to says AGAIN "sorry it's against our policy".... okay you already said that! Why did we even go back to this operating room for you to tell me the same exact thing!! and why wouldn't we just call my vet? I'm sorry, just the most bizarre experience I have ever had at Petsmart. We will definitely be continuing to go to Petco... I wouldn't even bring my dog to the vet here considering they let customers come back there like that! read more

Don't waste your money on anything here! I would have given them no star. No protocol & they don't do anything about it... The pet hotel is a nice service for a last minute boarding option, but be prepared for your dog to come home sick!!! Update: my dog has either pneumonia or canine flu. STAY AWAY FROM THE HOTEL!!!! I've become somewhat of a regular at PetSmart, I feel like I should have my own parking spot. In January we got a puppy. A puppy with loads of energy. We started to take him to doggy day camp when both my husband and I have to work. He has so much fun there! He actually runs through the store and heads straight for the hotel. This store will let you buy several animals in the store: mice, fish, crickets ECT. To feed your other larger animals. But they will not let you purchase the smallest cheapest frog they have unless you tell them your going to keep it alive. Absolutely ridiciulouse. My $300 baby snake is a very fussy eater. It has been 3 weeks since he's eaten. I have tried several attempts to feed him mice and rats. His diet in the wild is frogs. But frogs small enough for him are hard to come by. The manager told me she would rather see my snake starve then let me buy the small frog for feeding. They are the only store in the closest 20miles that has the kind of frog I need. So basically PetSmart doesn't give a crap about animals unless they are fuzzy. Or frogs apparently. read more

This review is for the groomers. We take our pooch here to get her nails trimmed and I feel like whenever we come in all the girls are always chit chatting and yelling across the room and it's really unprofessional. They usually do a great job with the nail trimming but yesterday they cut one of our pups nails way too short and it was bleeding and causing our puppy to be in pain. And then here's the kicker. When they gave her back to me they dropped her on the ground and she whimpered. She fell on her back and it made me so angry. How can you just drop her! They need to clean up their act. I might find another place to get my pups nails trimmed. read more

They have a pet hotel that you can take your puppy to to interact with other pups as well. They are especially friendly, more so to the pets then humans but that's alright. its for them anyways. My puppy, Lucy, loves it here. Many of our friends who have dogs, don't interact with other dogs well and that just sucks, since, Lucy loves to play with other dogs. Its more reasonable then a babysitter and they offer to options but really only mention one. If you decide to bring your pet for less six hours the rates are slightly cheaper. Overall, I'm a fan of this place, just wish they have a puppy hotel at the Landing location. read more

As a customer you make an specific appointment for services and they should be respect your booking. They argued that they have to put my dog in a kennel if they have a walking to serve them first.
