I brought my dog here for a pawdicure and the groomers missed a nail. And didn't trim the edges of his paws. The groomers all seem very inexperienced and when asked what each package included it didn't seem like they knew. The pawdicure that we purchased should have included teeth brushing, toe clipping and ear cleaning. This all is supposed to take 15 minute?? The pet smart in Renton took an hour to finish these tasks. Will not bring my dog back to this PetSmart. read more

I took my dog here to get groomed by Janna. When I came to pick up and take my dog home, I noticed as I was rubbing his belly, that he had several cuts on his belly. I was greeted by another groomer and wasn't told anything. This upset me because I could tell that my dog was in pain from these cuts. I will not take my dog here again. read more

Do not take your dog for grooming here. Trust me. Horrible service. Rude groomer. Said she couldn't cut my dog like the picture because of different hair... (Exact same dog in photo as in shop??) Not before of course because I would have RAN out of there. Asked her to please fix and she wouldn't do, instead offered a comp. What? My dog has to stay like this!??? Jerks! Then the store manager was rude too. "What do you want me to do?" 1. FIX IT... Duh! 2. Train your staff. 3. Use an appropriate tone when dealing with customers. They didn't even clean in her ears! Totally filthy. The hair between the pads on her feet not cut... She was supposed to be 1" all around. She was not evenly cut. Some parts she was longer than 2"! Please see photos. read more

Groomers look you work at a pet smart. When I went to drop off my pet, I was told that I was past the deadline, however there was a sign on the door asking to wait while someone was inside. When the person left the area it was past my time. Very rude and inconsiderate to have a sign on the door that would effect my service. So I removed the sign and they acted like I burned the place down. I like pet smart but now I am looking into different small owned businesses. read more

The store as a whole is average. Good selection, average customer service. Prices are hit-or-miss depending on what you're buying. I don't buy dog food here because it's about $4 more than other places, but I do like the toy and treat selection. The store is cleaner than it has been in the past, so that's great. As for the groomers? My dog goes elsewhere now after our last experience. The last time I went in the groomer ended up hitting my dog's quick. I understand that it happens sometimes, it's not a huge deal. She ran in the back to get the quickstop (why she didn't have it with her in the first place I don't know) and applied it to the nail. Crisis averted. Now, maybe I'm really weird, but if I accidentally hurt an animal I make sure to stop and give them some love as an apology to make sure they ultimately have a positive experience. This lady didn't apologize to me or my dog. At that point she completely refused to make eye contact, rushed us out, and didn't even finish the job!! There were 7 nails left for me to do when I got home. This situation couldn't have been handled any worse and will never bring my dog in again. read more

My go-to pet store when it comes to grooming and Petshotel/daycare services! I've been going here and taking my dog here ever since he was a little pup which is about 2 years ago. I enrolled him in puppy classes, but ended up realizing all the things that we learned there I could teach myself through the internet. However, I absolutely love their Petshotel and doggy daycamp services! All of the staff are super friendly, caring, and helpful so I always feel at ease whenever dropping my dog off for daycare or for overnight boarding. They had a Petshotel open house one time (I think they still have those events but only sometimes) and I visited to see the "behind the scenes" of the Petshotel and where they keep the pets, where they feed them, etc. so I feel safe with my dog there. My dog loves daycamp there and whenever I come the staff always remembers us. They have an option for either full day or half day daycamp. But I also recommend purchasing their 10-day daycamp pass that works for full-days of daycare that saves you a little bit of money. It can get really expensive so I haven't been going lately. Just only when I need to. What I also love is that they sometimes have fun events for the dogs on holidays or special occasions. They offer free ice cream, and a free picture. The grooming salon is also great. I don't take my dog for grooming services as much anymore, but whenever I do they never disappoint. Overall I love it here and the staff really love and care for the pets as well. read more

I walked into pet smart just doing some looking around when I noticed one of the gals in the doggy hotel not wearing a mask with her coworker. I had to leave so I called the store manager (Sammy I believe) and let her know what was going on and she said "oh yea they do that sometimes when they change shifts" Good to know Pet Smart doesn't care about their employees or other people's safety. read more

This review is based purely on the time and response to intake of grooming. We booked a grooming appointment for our 1 1/2 Golden Retriever. We arrived at 12:15 because we were new to PetSmart grooming and new we needed to provide verification of a rabies vaccine. This is during Covid-19, so there was a waiting station outside of PetSmart. The station requested that we call when we had arrived, we did and were asked to wait. So we waited, and waited and waited. My husband went in asked at 12:45 and was told to wait. We were standing outside till 1:10pm. By this point a store associate came outside and asked if we needed help we told him that we were told to wait but our appointment was at 12:30. This associate went back inside the grooming to ask what was going on, I'm assuming. He came back outside and then told us to come in. When we got inside they asked what we needed as if I had never called and literally checked in over the phone. The women at the counter starting yelling for Merelin. No one knew were she was. A women then entered with carriers full of Starbucks and passed them out, another women then entered with a Starbucks and fast food in hand. Low and behold, Merelin much like Merlin had appeared. Our dogs wash was decent, but leaving us outside in 90 degree weather with a 1 1/2 year old 70lb dog ( who was ancy as hell) was so rude that I will never go back here. Clean up you act, like the dog hair on the floor PetSmart. I forgot to add that my husband was lectured by the groomer about us not getting our dog more accustomed to her paws being touched. We adopted Bailey 3 weeks ago and this was all of our first experiences with grooming. Perhaps if she was on time we could have gone over all the unknowns, like we did with the women at the front counter who was searching for Merilin. Also don't lecture people when you can't be on time. read more

While the people at PetSmart, like other big box retailers will help you if asked, they are primarily there to push product out the door. If you want expert advice, you're better off going to a vet if it's something not easily researchable. read more

I recently had bad experience at PetSmart Grooming in Tukwila. The groomer, Mary sha, who shaved my papillon did a horrible job. I left my dog at PetSmart hotel for 3 days and asked for grooming the last day. I was so happy to see him when picking him up so I didn't notice what she did to him. When I got home and found out, I wanted to cry. Attached is the photo of my dog for you all to see. He now looks like a rat cauz no fur left on his chest. Luckily she did not shave his skin. I can't believe how a professional groomer shaved so carelessly. I will never go back to them and recommend my friends not go there either. read more

Go to any other Petsmart - this location is so so bad! The last time I went, the cashier was checking out and the cashier didn't greet me, was angrily scanning my items and flipped out when I asked her about the price of an item. She got extremely upset that I asked for a bag after she got done ringing me up - she never asked me and completely ignored me during the whole transaction, I felt really uncomfortable asking her anything. She started getting in my face asking if she should call the manager and I said, sure why not, because this kind of behavior really is uncalled for. My mom was with me and we both kept looking at each other like "wtf is going on?" The manager came over and I explained what happened and he said "wow, okay, sorry." It's pretty obvious where the employees learn their unprofessional behavior from. Super weird as I don't typically have this experience at other Petsmarts. It's just this location. read more

After months of day camp, one day my dog did not want to go into the store. When I walked him into the petshotel and he saw the staff, he hit the ground, wouldn't move, cried, and peed. That's a pretty extreme reaction for him. He's normally a really happy dog. Somehow, some way, he was treated badly there and he was scared to death to go back. So he's never going back. read more

I went in today looking to purchase some fish. Looked around a bit and normally someone would come up to you and ask if you need help. Well, a red headed worker with glasses and another male worker were just chit chatting while I assume supposed to be unloading dog food so I asked for help. They said they'd be right over. 3 people were helped before me even though they had arrived after I did and I wasn't even acknowledged by this female worker instead she had asked yet another customer if he needed help even though I had been waiting 20 minutes for someone to help me. Ridiculous take your business to the Burien location where they actually give a damn about their customers. read more

This is for the grooming department. I couldn't find a title for only the grooming department so I'll post on here. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE STEPHANIE B. She's been cutting my dog Howie's hair since we got him which was almost 6 years ago. She does an amazing job. Never disappoints. Plus she is quick too. I don't know how she does it, but she delivers. Got a puppy (well he's 1 now) and also take him there. I don't even need to tell her how I want them groomed. Just make an appt and drop them off and when I come pick them up later in the day, they are looking cute as hell. I've gotten so many compliments from friends and strangers. Even recommended like 4-6 dogs to her. Not sure if most of them actually go, but it feels good to recommend and have them tell her that Howie and Chauncey told them to go there. If you are ever in need of a groomer, go and ask for Stephanie B. There's two Stephanie's I believe so you gotta tell them the B lol. Tell her Howie and Chauncey recommended you. She'll know who they are. Btw, Howie is in my profile picture. That's with his hair groomed almost 2 weeks ago It's not just Stephanie B who's awesome. Emily is good too. I believe I had her cut Howies hair before. I'm just used to Stephanie B and how she cuts my dogs hair so I stick with her. Kinda like our personal hair stylist. You find someone you like and you stick with them. I hope someone gives her a chance! read more

Took my shih tzu for the first and last time there. Couldn't get an appointment with his regular groomer until the end of June so I had to find another place. Big mistake!!! The cut is so choppy and they claimed that they trimmed his face but it looks untouched . Also, he did not smell clean like he usually would. I didn't want to waste my time and talk to a manager. I simply just won't go back. read more

I've taken my miniature dachshund pup here for the training classes (Beginner and Intermediate so far) and we have had a really awesome experience. Landon is SUPER nice, really patient, and he has done a fantastic job guiding us through training our pup (including techniques for kennel training, potty training, proper greeting, tricks, and practicing recall while distractions are happening). It was a good exposure opportunity for our pup to get socialized and to develop good behavioral habits. I highly recommend taking training classes here! read more

I am very upset! I've been going to this PetSmart Grooming for over a year now and Mariah who is wonderful usually is my dogs groomer but unfortunately I had got someone else due to her going on leave . I believe her name was Liam and I specific told her exactly what I wanted from her regarding my dogs haircut and she literally done the complete opposite. I told her not to touch his tail or head hair and she clipped both areas. Now my poor boy looks like a girl with 2 pig tails smh. If you go here I advise you to address your groomer and make sure they understand that you mean what you say when directing them on how you want your pet groomed. It literally seemed like everything I told her to do went in one ear and out the other smh. I will not be coming back unless Mariah is back. read more

Sold me on the biggest wire kennel they had and I mentioned to them that it probably wouldn't fit in either my or my sister's car. Which it didn't and this was around closing time. So then I asked them if they had ANY ROPE OR WIRE OR EVEN A LEASH FOT GODS SAKE AND THEY PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT THEY DIDNT HAVE any of those things so I could tie down the wire kennel they just proceeded to sell to me to the roof of my car then as the manager comes out after the store is closed and I'm almost finished tying it down with a towel I managed to cut into pieces and use. She looks at me and laughs at me while leaving her work wearing a Belly Shirt. I thought to my self how professional. And I normally wouldn't ever actually write something like this but the latter of what had happened made me sooo irate I thought this was the healthiest of options. Lol read more

The staff was friendly on arrival. Left our dog at the pet hotel with out a worry. They said they'd send us a picture of our pup and give us a report afterwards. No picture or report given. We've been taking our puppy to doggy day camp since we got her a couple months ago at the suggestion of our friend. We just boarded her at the PetsHotel for 5 days over the Christmas holiday and we couldn't be more happier with the service. This definitely gave us peace of mind knowing she'd be in good hands while we were gone. Highly recommend both day camp and PetsHotel services. read more

I boarded my chihuahua at the petsmart tukwila pethotel for six days last week while I was in portland for a workshop. when I returned my roommate had gotten him so he was already at home. his blanket had been repeatedly urinated on. my dog does not pee on his bedding so this was very concerning. he is also very sick and is having difficulty breathing and is running a fever. when I called to find out what happened over there I had to question the assistant manager several times before she admitted that they had difficulty taking him out of the upper level cage for his walks. I had told them this when leaving him there that to put him on the ground level so he would not be scared. they apparently made him sleep in crate instead of the bed I left with him. and then she also admitted that they had an outbreak of bordetella and several dogs contracted the bacterial infection and that my dog probably has it. they should have called me to tell me that he was not coming out of his crate and that he had gotten sick and that they had an outbreak of bordetella. I would not take my dog there again and would advise against any others as your dog could contract this highly contagious airborne disease. I don't know if they are actually taking the time to decontaminate their entire kennel. my chihuahua was vaccinated for bordetella and still contracted it. I am now taking him to the emergency animal care clinic. I hope this review prevents any other dogs from getting sick. I wish I had not left him in the care of the petsmart tukwila pethotel. 6/16/07 update - petsmart did refund the boarding costs and paid the emergency vet bill as of today, and my litttle chihuahua is finally getting better from the bordetella. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG THERE!! I made a huge mistake in taking my service animal there, the first time things went well however the second time is where all the trouble began. I got my dog back and she was hand shy, not shampooed, poorly trimmed, dandruff in her skin and worst of all showed all the signs of being miss handled. I called to check if they had given her a bath they said they did, then why all the flaky skin? Reluctantly the groomer Hillary offered to groom my dog again, It took 5 days for this to happen and in that time my dog now has a costly ear infection and refused to go with the groomer, she was glad to see everybody else but she feared that woman, I listened to my dog and kept her with me. I talked to the store manager who implied that I wasn't telling the truth and tried to blame my dog!!! Yea she smacked herself about the head and and left blade marks in her coat. I won't be going back with my dog and I'm out $70.00 plus the tip and the new vet bill; all this to have my dog abused, my pocket robbed and had my honesty questioned. Expensive bad deal all around. read more

This review is specifically for the doggy hotel. I must say, this place is a hidden gem. At first, the fact that Petsmart is a giant corporate chain may be a turn off- it certainly was for me. But I had a 7 day vacation to go to, and a french bulldog that couldn't come along. A friend of mine recommended this place. Let me first say this- I have never used a kennel or doggy hotel service for my dog before. He has basically come along everywhere I've been. And if there are any frenchie owners out there, you guys all know how obsessive we are with our furred friends :) The staff here was great from the get go- they made sure I was familiar with the schedule my dog would be following each day, and they asked me thorough questions about his feeding habits, anxiety issues, etc. I left the doggy hotel feeling pretty confident that my boy was in good hands. Even still, during my trip, I worried. How is he doing? Is he coping well with other dogs? Is he eating his food and being regular with his potty? I called up the hotel to check up on everything, and they were very courteous in giving me updates on my bulldog. When my trip was over, I could not wait to go and pick up my dog! Even before unpacking, I got in my car and rushed to this place to get him. Upon greeting him, my bulldog didn't want to come home! Instead, he wanted to go back in to the day camp area to play some more... Again, you frenchie owners out there know how attached those little fellas get to their owners. For him to react this way was very abnormal, and totally unexpected (I thought he'd do back flips upon seeing me). Needless to say, my feelings were quite hurt by this...but at the same time, I was very pleased to know that my dog had a great time here. Without hesitation, I would bring him here again. read more

I bought four expensive kennels here (airline approved $$$), they charged me for five. I didn't notice this till I got back to the car, I was in a huge hurry to make a flight. I ran back in to get a refund and the girl was apologetic and refunded me. She was about to hand me cash and her manager came over and said "nope, put it on a card, no cash back". The girl told her manager "I do it all the time, why does it give us the option on the computer then?" he looked at her and said "no cash back" and walked off. WTF. dipshit. I get over charged so I have to wait for the money back in my damn account now? Not cool PetSmart... why are managers at pet stores, video game stores and athletic stores such douches. read more

I shop at Petsmart pretty often. I have both a cat and dog. This was my first visit to this location. I stopped in to return something, and Josie the clerk processing my return was not in a good mood and was borderline rude. I bought the item at another location but I've never had issues returning items in the past. She quickly pointed out it was from another store... and I said yes. I asked if it would be a problem. She respond "I'm not sure" we'll see. From her attitude I almost felt like she expected me to drive all the way back to Portland to return something. Then she asked if I used the product and I said "No, it's still in the package sealed up". I didn't feel like the customer service at this location was up there with the other locations I've been to. Luckily Petco is right across the street!! read more

I usually go to the Bellevue Petsmart, but I needed a small bag of prescription dry dog food for my dog and they don't carry that size there. First thing I noticed is that the lighting is so dark! It was a gloomy place to walk into. Second thing I noticed was that I was not greeted at all! At the Bellevue store the staff is always very friendly when you walk in and look for things. Even when I went to pay for my stuff the cashier didn't crack one smile! Service does make a store great to go into. Luckily Petsmart as a whole is a great company so they auto get three stars. I just hope if I have to continue to go here to get my dogs small bag of prescription food they can put in brighter lights and smile more. read more

I really want to like this location of Petsmart as it's now one of the closer ones since W Seattle doesn't have a location. We dropped off our German Shepard mix for a bath and a brush and the place was a zoo. I mean a literal ZOO! We had to wait outside to even get 'in' the grooming department as they were busy but somehow had 3 dogs in the front 'reception' and no owners to claim them. So naturally, why would we bring our dog in and make an even bigger mess? It took a good 10-15 mins before they even were able to clear out one of the dogs but then discussed how they didn't know where the owners were for the other two dogs. I'm not sure why they'd bring the dogs out on their leashes to the front area if no owner was present to receive them. We asked to be called when our puppy was ready so that we could limit the time he would be locked up in the back. He was a rescue from the pound and I like to minimize the time he has to be reminded of kennels and barking dogs all around him. Call me overprotective if you want but we never got the phone call. *I* had to call and ask if he was ready. They said yes and I had no idea of knowing how long he was locked up in the back. We came back to pick him up and there were still 6 girls working and the first three ignored me. Apparently only 'one' girl can greet me and help me get the receipt printed out. Overall, I'll probably drive back to Northgate and go to THAT Petsmart because at least they called and seemed more competent than this location. Avoid if you can as it was just not professional at all. read more

I really like this location because they have just about everything for your pets. The store is clean, well organized, and has plenty of parking outside. My main concern is about some of their staff. The last two times I have been in, two of the gals have been on their phones while they proceeded to check out my items. Sure, do that on your down time, but the customer should NOT be your down time. Today's visit, the girl was literally laughing and texting back on her phone. I then waited for her to hit a button on her screen so I could continue to finish my payment on the pad. Not so satisfied with that. On another note, another nice lady helped me pick out some medication for my feline. They also price match and that really helped me out a lot. Due to the girls texting and making me feel not so important, I really want to give this location a 2.5 star. Hopefully they can talk with some of their staff members on this and make their customer service much better. They are the front and face of this company, and we should be leaving with a good experience. read more

Booked a boarding for our dog for Thanksgiving. Confirmed to drop him off early Thanksgiving morning. Email matched those details. Received a phone call confirming same. Way to royally screw up my holiday by booking and confirming an appointment that wasn't one you'd honor. Now, what do I do with my dog as I'm not able to take him with us???? So mad at this Petsmart! My husband and I recently moved cross-country. My dogs were due for a hair cut, but I couldn't find their scissors (we cut their hair ourselves) so I bought a pair from Petsmart. Luckily I found our old scissors after I continued to unpack. The new scissors were still in the plastic. I brought in the scissors to return. I didn't have the receipt but thought it would be no problem since the scissors obviously had not been used. The girl at the register says to me, "Um, I don't think we take back grooming materials." I said, "Oh but it's unused." She says, "Yeah I don't think so." She stares at me. I said, "Okay well can you ask a manager since you said you're not sure?" She calls the manager and the manager says "No, we don't accept grooming products with a receipt." So I leave, and buy my dog food at Petco across the street. And when I get home I look up their policy. Know what their motto is? HASSLE FREE RETURNS! Oh and that grooming policy applies when the item is over $10... my scissors were $9 -_- Guess who's going to print out that policy and bring it to the store? WITH THE SCISSORS! read more

Horrible service. I would not recommend boarding your pet here. My dog was drenched in dried urine upon pick-up and had kennel cough. They did offer a shower after I complained, but this does not make up for the experience my pet went through. I was told that "my pet chose not to pee during his bathroom breaks." Which is fine if this is true, but for a pet that's fully potty trained and doesn't lay to soak up his urine, I find this questionable. read more

I wasn't so impressed with the grooming service. I took my gsd pup with a coupon I had where if it's younger than 5 months it's free. So I scheduled an appointment for bath, nail clipping, cleaning ear and I guess they give you a complimentary bandana. I took him there and they told me it will be about 1-2 hours. I drop him off and wait for their phone call. After 2 hours I call to see if he's ready so I can pick him up. They apologize that it's been busy so it will be 20 more min. After 30 min I don't get a call so I go there. He's clean but I don't see the complimentary bandana but whatev. When I bring him back I've noticed that they didn't even clean his ears. I felt that because I had a first time free bath package coupon they didn't put any effort into cleaning him. How could it take that long to clean the dog? He didn't need any brushing he has short hair and the phamplet they gave me said they didn't need to brush him. But they state that his ears we're clean when it wasn't. Not impressed. I am not taking him to petsmart grooming in the future. read more

Tukwila Petsmart rocks! I volunteer at the cat adoption center in the store (the cat adoption center is not run by Petsmart itself, but by a shelter called Purrfect Pals). To sustain our adoptable kitties, Petsmart donates the space, the food, and the litter. Also, if we have a cat who is sick or dirty, they will give us medicine and grooming for free. How cool is that? However, I realize that this is from a volunteer's perspective and not a customer's. It's a big store and whenever I needed to buy something extra for the cats or for my Phoebe at home, I had no trouble finding it. However I have no experience with the training classes, the Pets Hotel, or the small animal departments. Conclusion: if you're looking for a cat to adopt or anything else that has to do with cats, Petsmart is the place to go. read more

1 Night Stay Review: Report cards were better but check out was still too stressful for 5 stars. As promised we gave them another try for the holiday this week. Our 'hood sounds like a war zone on the fireworks holidays so we gave the pups a break. Check in at 8 am was a breeze. All puppies were happy to see the staff and went trotting off to day camp without even a whimper or a look back. The report cards were still too commercial ("I'd love to come back and play with my friends here again") but reflected differences that made it seem like they noticed how the dogs actually behaved. The check out was still a mess. We were better organized and split our pack to get them in their harnesses... but we were the only people who tried to harness up so our pups wanted to play with each of their new friends as they left. I would give a half star if I could, but the checkout still leaves me exhausted and the pups all worked up... there has to be a better way. read more

I was actually really happy with my experience here but now reading Neenus, Amanda and Rey's reviews..I'm confused why my experience was so good. About 2 weeks ago I took my Yorkie and Maltese a.k.a. gruesome-twosome to stay at this pet hotel for 2 nights. Granted when I delivered them, I'm glad I allowed enough time for their check in process because the guy working there was slower than the train from NYC to San Fran...took friggn ages - I swear. They took inventory of all the dogs belongings, which I admit is a lot. Each has a water and food bowl, their own food container, treats packed separately, their own collar and their own blanket and bed. Yes, I spoil my dogs and I'm proud of it. Oh and did I mention I have a "doggy bag" same bag as moms refer to as a diaper bag. Yes, you could say I'm fully equipped. Well after the 2 nights I picked them up and was really happy with how they looked, fast check out and the price was great. I love the fact that it's so close to SEA airport and easy freeway access. I got to zip out of there and head home. read more
